37Parsha Shelach L’cha Send forth
Badmidbar/Number 13 :1 –
15 :41
Yehoshua 2 :1-24, Hebr.
3 :7-19
The thirty-seventh reading from the Torah is called Shelach (שלח), an imperative verb that means "send out." The portion is so named from the first few words of the second verse: "Send out for yourself men so that they may spy out the land of Canaan" (Numbers 13:2). The Torah reading tells the tragic story of how the spies returned with a bad report about the Land of Promise and influenced the congregation of Israel to rebel against the LORD. Thus God consigned the generation of Moses to wander in the wilderness for forty years.

If you
watch TV, you will see more and more scoffer speaking foolishly against יהוה
and the Torah,
pretender who profess to know the true teaching heresy to those who have been
blinded by the “g-d” of this world HaSatan.
For those
who walk in the true, we know that the Torah is unchangeable and the truth
remains forever. With that, we can build our faith on the “Rock”, Yehowah and
not be moved by what we hear or see. As I am writing today (June 27, 2011), judgement as already started upon the
nations, no matter what they prophesy their condemnation stand from long ago,
because they have not the love of the truth.
Sha’ul in the wisdom given to him writes:
1Co 10:11 And all these came upon them (our forefathers) as examples, and they were written as a warning to us, on whom the ends of the ages have come,
He is
speaking of what happened to our forefathers living Mitzrayim (Egypt), saying:
1Co 10:4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed, and the Rock
was Messiah.
Spiritual
Rock and not physical as some want to make Yehoshua
been physically present in the Torah!
The Rock was Messiah is an allegory to two
special events in the Torah:
Exo 17:6 behold, I will stand before
thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and
there shall come water out of it,
that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of
Israel.
Num 20:7 and YHWH spake unto Moses, saying,
Num 20:8 take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth
his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou
shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
Num 20:9 and Moses took the rod from before YHWH, as
he commanded him.
Num
20:10 and Moses and Aaron gathered the
congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye
rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
Num
20:11 and Moses lifted up his
hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out
abundantly, and the congregation drank,
and their beasts also.
How can we
see Messiah in this passage. I admit it is not obvious, in
the p’shat level we see the Children
of Israel complaining and Moshe giving
them water out of the spiritual Rock!
Sha’ul says that the Rock was Messiah (not Yeshua). In the first action Elohim commanded Moshe to hit the Rock which he did and the
water came out.
Sha'ul
allegory refers to Messiah as the living water, who like the Rock in the
wilderness brought water. This is why he called the Rock, Messiah. But this is
not the end, Messiah could only be called the "Rock" because he was
the Word made flesh and thus as image of Elohim (Hebr. 1:3) he reflect the
"Rock", Yehowah himself:
Deu
32:3 “For I proclaim the Name of יהוה,
Ascribe greatness to our Elohim.
Deu 32:4 “The Rock! His work is perfect, For
all His ways are right-ruling, An Ěl of truth and without unrighteousness,
Righteous and straight is He.
In the
second action Elohim commanded Moshe to speak to the Rock, but
instead Moshe out of anger smote the Rock.
Where is
now the spiritual connection to Messiah?
Was Messiah
smitten two times? The answer of course is NO!
The first Rock (Ex.17:6) is a picture of Messiah who through is death (smitten)
gave us the water of life.
The second Rock (Num.20:7-11) is a picture of Messiah giving us water by faith
(speaking instead of smiting). Moshe reacted
out of anger and will not enter the promise Land!
It is of
importance to understand the reason our heavenly father want us to learn Torah.
Do you think that יהוה want us to know just what happened to our
forefathers, or only how the earth was destroyed by the flood?
Sha’ul exhorts the believer “not to be conformed to
the world” and to “renew their mind” in order to “prove what is good and
acceptable and perfect, will of Elohim”
(Romans 12:2).
I have
explained in another “parasha” that
the only way to renew the mind (i.e. intellect) which also affect or influence
our emotions is to remove what we have put inside during many years by
listening to different things or doctrine which we have “freely accepted”, many
times without knowing it.
The best
example is how the world indoctrinate the people by the repetition of presumptions
even without honest and reliable source i.e. saying that the “co²” emission
from cars create the climate change. I spent many years in Germany between
1978 and 2003 we had a long period when it was almost daily a TV topic how the
forests were destroyed because of cars pollution. At this time it was the
opportunity for the car industry to propose a filter (catalysator) to be added
to the cars, of course against “big money”! If we had believed the saying of
the “wise” there would be no more forest in Germany today. Years later it has
been proved that the filter didn’t changed anything.
We watch
daily in TV thousands of so called “advertising”, which should be called with a
better name: “brainwashing”. This is in fact how companies enforce their
products in the mind of potential buyers, by repetition, when their slogans and
images have reached our subconscient and take hold on our own will. You can
test yourself to see if you are really free from this influence. When you go to
the mall or supermarket near to you, and buy, look how you react to chose your
soap, tooth paste, shampoo……..do you take a “brand” or do you chose a “no name
product”? Be honest we all have grasp without knowing it after a well known
brand! This is called “brainwashing”!
Sha’ul says “don’t do that, stop! Renew your mind
(intellect), by taking the truth which is the Torah and put instead in your
mind. When accepting the Torah as our legal way of life, we give the Set Apart
Spirit substance to transform our life, in understanding, view and action.
After a while, the world “brainwashing” loses its hold on us and we are free.
Myself I
like to wear “Levi 501”
no other one! Is it habits or “brainwashing”? May be today a way of life
(habit), but for sure in the beginning when I was 15, it was because it was
coming from the US
and famous actors (James Dean) were wearing this Jeans.
But let us
go back to the “parasha”. Moshe
following יהוה, send spy to the Land of Kena’an!
My question
is: Did יהוה had need to sent spy, was He unsure concerning
this Land which He promised before to Abraham Itzak and Ya’acov? (B’reshit 13:14-17, 15;18)
Send
forth, is the
Hebrew word “Shelach”, Strong’s #H7973,
from #H7971, “shalach” to send forth.
The word Shelach as an interesting meaning in Hebrew, a missile of attack, i.e. a spear, dart, sword, weapon.
The word Shelach as an interesting meaning in Hebrew, a missile of attack, i.e. a spear, dart, sword, weapon.
When we
look at the situation we see יהוה commanding Moshe to search the land
which He has given to the Children of Israel (carnal man) (b’reshit 13:14-17, 15:18) and confirmed to Moshe at Mount Sinai (Sh’mot 23:31).
Exo
23:31 “And I shall set your border from
the Sea of Reeds to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the
River, for I shall give the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you
shall drive them out before you.
There must
be another reason why יהוה told Moseh
to send men to search the Land of Cana’ an!
Cana’an is
the son of Ham, the son of Noach who was cursed by Noach (B’reshit 9:25)
Gen 9:25 and he said, “Cursed is Kenaʽan, let him
become a servant of servants to his brothers.”
יהוה has given the land of the descendants from Ham to Abram (b’reshit 15:18)
Gen 15:18 On the same day יהוה made a
covenant with Aḇram, saying, “I have given this land to your seed, from the river of Mitsrayim to the great
river, the River Euphrates,
The prophet
Obadyahu writes:
Oba 1:20 and the
exiles of this host of the children of Yisra’ĕl possess that of the Kenaʽanites as far as Tsarephath, and the exiles of
Yerushalayim who are in Sepharaḏ possess the cities of the South.
This
struggle is still going on as the prophet following this prediction write:
Oba 1:21 and saviours (plural) shall come to Mount Tsiyon to judge the mountains
of Ěsaw. And the reign shall belong to יהוה. Footnote:
1Ps. 2:8, Ps. 22:28, Dan. 2:44, Dan. 7:13-14 & 27, Zech. 14: 9,
Rev. 11:15, Rev. 12:10.
The word
used here by the prophet for “saviors”, “deliverance”, “salvation” is the
Hebrew word:
Strong’s
#H3467 ישׁע “Yasha” this word
is very interesting as it is the root of the name “Hoshea” the son of Nun, but there is more to see in this word.
Moshe will change the name of Hoshea into Yehoshua (יהושׁוּע).
By comparing both names we will easily see that to ישׁע was added יהו
making to Hoshea a new name. It is
written Yod י , shin שׁ
, Ayin ע (Yosha to Yehoshua). In the Hebrew text of the Leningrad Codex we read: “Va’iqra
Moshe l’oshua ben Nun Yehoshua”
Now let us
compare with the name of our Master:
Luk 1:31 “And see, you shall conceive
in your womb, and shall give birth to a Son, and call
His Name יהושע.1 Footnote: 1Mt. 1:21.
If we
compare with the name of the Son of Nun we see that there is NO difference.
Today there are discrepancy ho to call the Name of our Master going from Y’shua, Yahshua, Yahushua. I am
not a Hebrew scholar on Semantics, according to my understanding, having read
many information, I have decided to say: יהושע
Yehoshua
with the meaning: “Yehovah is salvation”,
or “Yehowah save”. “Yah” is the short name (constriction
poetic form) use in poetic form for “Yehowah”,
and not a “short name”
Disclaimer:
I don’t pretend to be right in the pronunciation and give everyone to pronounce
the Name of our heavenly Father as he/she thinks it to be good. In the Last ten
years have I change the pronunciation many times, so that tolerance toward
other is better than to pretend to be right. (for those having interest I have a
file from Nehemiah Gordon) who work
in the University in Jerusalem, a scholar in Hebrew and semantic who explains
very well why Yehowah is the way the
Name should be pronounced! I acknowledge that my first rejection to Yehowah was that I couldn’t admit that
the Jehowah Witness could be so close
to the true Name! Once I had overcome
this view, it became easy for me to understand.
Psa 68:4 Sing to Elohim, sing praises to His Name. Raise up a highway for Him
Who rides through the deserts, By His
Name Yah (poetic form of Yehowah), and exult before Him.
What does
the King James says concerning this particular verse?
Psa 68:4 SingH7891 unto God,H430
sing praisesH2167 to his name:H8034 extolH5549

Jah: Strong’s
# H3050 יהּ yâh yaw
Contracted for H3068, and meaning the same; Jah, the
sacred name: - Jah, the Lord, most vehement. Cp. names in “-iah,” “-jah.”
H3068 יהוה yehôvâh yeh-ho-vaw'
From H1961; (the) self Existent or
eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord.
Compare H3050, H3069.
It is
amazing to me that Strong write for H3050, “Yah” and then jump to “Yehovah” in H3068, saying that “Yah” is contracted
from H3068!
If we
follow the logic we understand that “Yah” is the contraction of “Yehowah”
and not from “Yahweh”
Why all
this details? Because if we understand what our heavenly father want us to see,
we will be able to build our faith on the “Rock”, the Torah and not on man’s
doctrine.
The son of
Nun, “Yehoshua”, I let you decide is a picture of the One to come, our Master Yehoshua HaMoschiach who will, like Yehoshua Son of Nun leads us to the
promise land.
But let us
keep going in our study.
The meaning of the word Canaanite, Kena’anite is also interesting. It is Strong’s # H3669, כּנעני
kena‛anîy
ken-ah-an-ee'
Kena”any from H3667;
a Kenaʽanites or inhabitant of Kenaʽan; by implication a pedlar (the Cananites standing
for their neighbors the Ishmaelites, who conducted mercantile
caravans): - Canaanite, merchant, trafficker.
H3667 kena‛an ken-ah'-an
From H3665; humiliated;
Kena’an, a son of Ham; also
the country inhabited by him: - Canaan, merchant, traffic.
The evil
prophet Balaam says:
Num 23:19 “Ěl is not a man, to lie; nor a son of man, to repent! Has He said, and
would He not do it; or spoken, and would not confirm it?
El is יהוה
who made a promise to Abram to give him the Land.
What was
the reason to send twelve men to spy the land?
There are
many symbols in this “parasha”:
Twelve men: Twelve is the number for perfect
government on earth.
They spent
forty days searching the land.
Forty is the number for: Testing,
repentance, and return to the way (t’shuvah in Hebrew).
Forty represent the concept of renewal – a
new begins.
Forty means also that something might
look like the same old thing on the surface, but its essence is totally new.
The first
time Moshe ascended to the Mount Sinai for forty days and forty nights, the
Children of Israel (carnal man) were
transformed from a “collection of people” to a “nation”.
Noah’s forty
days of rain was the new start again from scratch.
Forty
weeks is the time
for a “seed” to develop to a full and complete baby in the mother womb (Shoftim / Judge 2:22, 3:1, 11, Badmidbar 14:33-34, B’reshit 7:4, Sh’mot 16:35, 24:18, Psalm 95:10,)
From A.D.30
the date when our Master Yehoshua was
impale, till A.D. 70 when Titus destroyed the Temple and Yerushalayim, was exactly 40 Years
Forty years: The
number for change, trials, a new period
It rained forty days
and forty nights during the flood (B'reshit 7:4,12, 17)
Itzahk was forty years old when he married Ribqah (B'reshit 25:20)
Forty days morning for
Ya'acov death (B'reshit 50;3)
The children of Israel
spent forty years in the wilderness (Badmidbar 14:34)
The Children of Israel
ate manna forty years (Sh'mot 16:35)
Moshe spent forty days
and forty nights in the Mount (Sh'mot 24:18)
Forty sockets of
silver to hold the boards of the Tabernacle (Sh'mot 26:19)
The land had forty
years rest (Judge 3:11)
David reign over
Israel forty years (1King 2:11)
Forty days given to
Nineveh to repent (Jon. 3:4)
Yehoshua fasted forty days and forty nights (Matt. 4:2)
From AD 30
till AD 70, the Temple destruction by Titus, send by Vespasian, there was a
forty years period, Yehowah waiting
for the Yehudin (Jews) to repent (t’shuvah).
Yehowah waited to determine if the
Kingdom would be set up. This is the
same type when they were in the desert for forty years, then Yehoshua brought a remnant of Israel into “the
Kingdom”, the promise land (Greg Killian).
The temple
was destroyed because instead to put their trust (emunah) in Yehowah, the
Yehudin as a collective entity followed the Pharisee
and rejected Yehoshua.
1Co 2:8 which no one of the rulers of this age knew, for if they had known, they would
not have impaled the Master of esteem.
Kefa/Peter speaking to the council and the High
Priest:
Act 5:29 And Kĕpha and the other emissaries
answering, said, “We have to obey Elohim rather than men.1
Footnote: 1See 4:19.
Act 5:30 “The Elohim of our fathers raised up יהושע whom you laid hands on, hanging Him on a timber
We see
clearly the parallel between natural and spiritual.
Moshe is a picture, the for-runner, of the work of Yehoshua who came to establish the
Kingdom of Elohim (D'varim/Deut.18:15-19).
The first
came to deliver the carnal man; le second to deliver the flesh! Forty years
after Yehoshua’s departure to the
Father, the Temple was destroyed. The destruction of the Temple was the
confirmation that Yehowah will not
established His Kingdom at this time, we will have to wait for the second
advent of Messiah Yehoshua.
Moshe couldn’t enter the Kingdom it was Yehoshua the son of Nun who brought a remnant into the “Kingdom”.
Who
entered the Promise Land?
Num 14:30 ‘None of you except Kalĕḇ son of Yephunneh, and Yehoshua son of Nun, shall enter
the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.
Num 14:31 ‘But
your little ones, whom you said would become a prey, I shall bring in,
and they shall know the land which you have rejected.
Here we see that Yehowah tells
the Children of Israel that there are going to die in the wilderness, while He
(Yehowah) will bring their offspring into the land by the hand of Yehoshua (son
of Nun). This should be taught in our Shabbot, as we learn that Sh'lommo says:
Ecc 1:9 What has been is what shall be, what has
been done is what shall be done, and there is no new matter under the
sun.
Ecc 1:10 Is there a matter of which it is said, “See,
this is new”? It was here already, long ago.
Ecc 1:11 There is no remembrance of former ones, nor
is there any remembrance of those that are to come by those who come later on.
This principle seems to be
forgotten today among believers, who many try to persuade others that they know
better, ignoring the Torah warning.
Yehoshua
warns us that few are those who will enter the Kingdom:
Mat 7:14 “Because the gate is narrow* and the way is hard
pressed1 which
leads to life, and there are few who
find it. Footnote: 1Or the way is
afflicted.
*
I have explained in
a Midrash how the "narrow gate" refers to the tribulation of the last
days which started at the first coming of Mashiach.
Deu 30:1 “And it shall be, when all these words come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you shall
bring them back to your heart among all the gentiles (nations) where יהוה your Elohim drives you,
Deu 30:2 and shall turn back to יהוה your Elohim and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, with all
your heart and with all your being, you and your children,
Deu 30:3 then יהוה your Elohim shall turn back your captivity, and shall have
compassion on you, and He shall turn back and gather you from all the peoples where יהוה your Elohim has scattered you.
Deu 30:4 “If any of
you are driven out to the farthest parts under the heavens (e.g. the Philippines!!), from there יהוה your Elohim does gather you, and from there He does
take you.
Deu 30:5 “And יהוה your Elohim shall bring
you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. And He shall do good to you,
and increase you more than your fathers.
Deu 30:6 “And יהוה your Elohim
shall circumcise your heart and the heart of your seed, to love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your
being, so that you might live,
Deu 30:7 and יהוה your Elohim
shall put all these curses on your enemies and on those
who hate you, who
persecuted you.
Deu 30:8 “And you shall
turn back and obey the voice of יהוה and do all His commands which I command you today.
Deu 30:9 “And יהוה your Elohim
shall make you have excess in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your
body, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground for
good. For יהוה turns back
to rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers,
Deu 30:10 if you
obey the
voice of יהוה your
Elohim, to guard
His commands and His laws which are written in this Book of the Torah, if you turn back to יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your
being.
“To guard” in Hebrew it is the word “shamar” which means “to hedge around” like a shepherd who set a hedge
around his sheep during the night in order that wolfs cannot approach them!
Deu 30:11 “For this command which I am
commanding you today, it is not too hard for you, nor is it far off.
Deu 30:12 “It is not in the heavens, to say, ‘Who shall ascend into the heavens for
us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it?’
Deu 30:13 “Nor is it beyond the sea, to say, ‘Who shall go over the sea for us, and
bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it?’
Deu 30:14 “For the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart – to do it.
Deu 30:15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil,
The same Word is the Word who become flesh, the Davar

Revelation 11:13
We know
that those from twenty years old and above which left Mitzrayim (Egypt), all died in the wilderness, save Caleb and Yehoshua the son of Nun.
Now if we
keep looking at the symbols, we can even see more. From the twelve men who went
to search the land, only two: Caleb
and Yehoshua had a good report.
Caleb the son of Yepunneh
of the tribe of Yehuda, and Yehoshua son of nun of the tribe of Ephraim. Moshe changed the name of Hoshea
(salvation) into Yehoshua (Yehowah is
salvation). Prophetically Moshe was pointing to the One who one day in the
future will bring the remnant of Israel into the Kingdom.
Mat 10:5 יהושע sent these twelve out, having commanded them, saying, “Do not
go into the way of the gentiles (nations), and do not enter a city of the
Shomeronites,
Mat 10:6 but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl
(Ephraim).
Joh
10:16 “And other sheep (House of Israel/Ephraim) I have which are not of this fold (Yehudin/Jews) – I have to bring them as
well, and they shall hear My voice, and there shall be
one flock, one shepherd.1
Footnote: 1Ezek. 34:23, Ezek. 37:24.
In Yochanan 10:16, Yehoshua was speaking to the Yehudin,
when speaking of those who are not of “this fold”, Yehuda, they are those from Ephraim
the “lost sheep of the house of Israel”!
Two is also
the number for division (b’reshit 1:7)
Yehoshua from Ephraim
also called “House of Israel” later falsely called “Gentiles”, but rather
“nations” (goyim), those having lost their identity, having been mixed among
the nations, and found their way back through Messiah Yehoshua
Isa 11:10 and in that day there shall be a Root of

ends of the earth!”
Delivrance:
Strong's H3444 יְשׁוּעָה yshuw`ah (yesh-oo'-aw) n-f. written, yod,
shin, vav, ayin, He.
1. something saved, i.e.
(abstractly) deliverance
2. (hence) aid, victory, prosperity
[feminine passive participle of H3467]
Yshuwah: In the Hebrew
text written: יְשׁוּעָתִי Yeshuhoti
"my salvation" yod, shin, vav, ayin, tav, yod. We can see in order to render Yehowah IS
salvation we will have to insert the letter "He" ה and add the vowel
"cholem" for the sound "o". The ending "my" תִי been removed we have the Name: יְהוֹשֻׁ֥עַ (Yehoshua) written: yod, he, vaw with the vowel cholem
for the sound "o", shin, ayin. Yeho (compression from Yehowah)
save יָשַׁע yasha`, יְהוֹשֻׁ֥עַ (Yehoshua)

One of the
reasons Yehowah sent the men to
search the land was in order to choose either to put their trust “emunah” in Yehowah as did Caleb and Yehoshua, or to
rely in their own ability, to see that they can do nothing!
The prophet
Habbakuk write: “The just shall live
by his faith ‘emunah’.
Faith is to
trust Yehowah for what He has already declared by the mouth
of the prophets. Ten of the spies didn’t trusted Yehowah!
This was
the sin of the Children of Israel: NO BELIEVE (Trust in Yehowah):
Heb 3:17 And with whom was He
grieved forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses
fell in the wilderness?
Heb 3:18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter
into His rest, but to those who did not obey?
Heb 3:19 So we see that they were unable to enter in
because of unbelief.
Sin=
transgression of the Torah (1. Yochanan/John 3:4)
How it is
with you and me, do we put our trust in Yehowah,
or do we try on our own flesh and see the mountains before our eyes? It is said
that the Psalm 91 is a Psalm for the last days, especially for the time of
tribulation close to the second advent of Messiah. This Psalm is only for those
who are following the condition of the first verse:
Psa 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, Who abides under the shadow of the
Almighty,
Are you
dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, are you under the shadow of the
almighty?
If your
answer is without doubt “yes”, then you can make all the other verses yours and
be confident that nothing can happen to you, He will protect you against all
evil, no matter what comes, Bird flu, or swine flu, or other pestilences,
climate catastrophe, lack of food or explosion of price, He will keep you and
no arm will come upon you. Halleluyah!
The other
reason Yehowah sent the spies was
that the Children of Israel (carnal
man) were coming from Egypt (Mitzrayim)
and knew Elohim only from “having
heard” of their fathers, but in their life experienced hardship from Pharaoh since more than two hundred
years, until Yehowah heard their cry
and sent Moshe a man like them. From
this point they had an example to follow and had to choose looking at Moshe to trust Yehowah that he was sent by divine decision, or to look at their
natural conditions.
This is
what makes the difference today between us and those from the world. We don’t
look at the natural but at the promise sealed with the blood of Messiah, our
redemption written in heaven! Halleluyah!
The natural
will disappoint us, we need to look at Yehowah
and trust him, no matter what the situation can be, he will make a way for us
to overcome:
Pro 3:5 Trust in יהוה with all your heart, and lean not on your own
understanding;
13:32 They brought an evil report…………
First of
all, the ten spies reported that the land was truly as Yehowah told them, a land that flow with milk and honey. “We are
not able to go up……they are stronger then we”
They saw the “giants” the sons of Anak!
The word “giants” is sometime written “nephilim”. If you remember the first
time this word appears is in:
Gen 6:4 There wereH1961
giantsH5303 in the earthH776
in thoseH1992 days;H3117 and alsoH1571
afterH310 that,H3651 whenH834
the sonsH1121 of GodH430 came inH935
untoH413 the daughtersH1323 of men,H120
and they bareH3205 children to them, the sameH1992 became mighty menH1368
whichH834 were of old,H4480
H5769 menH376 of
renown.H80
Gen 6:4 The Nephilim were
on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of Elohim came in
to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty
men who were of old, the men of name.
Giants: Strong’s #H5303 nephîyl
(singular) nephil nef-eel',
nef-eel'
From H5307; properly, a feller, that is, a bully
or tyrant: - giant.
There are
many “stories” written concerning these “nephilim”
who came in unto the daughters of men.
In
Badmidbar 13:33 we read………. the giants,H5303
(nephilim) the sonsH1121
of Anak,H6061 which come ofH4480 the giants:H5303
(nephilim)
The word nephilim can also be translated as “Tyrant”
or violent men. Keil and Delitzsch
give us following information:
When the spies describe the
land of Canaan as “a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof,” and then add
(Num_13:33), “and there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak among (מִן lit., from, out of, in a partitive
sense) the Nephilim,” by the side of whom they were as grasshoppers; the term Nephilim cannot signify giants, since the spies not only mention them especially along
with the inhabitants of the land, who are described as people of great stature,
but single out only a portion of the Nephilim
as “sons of Anak” עֲנָק בְּנֵי), i.e., long-necked people or giants.
Many times
when the Children of Israel (carnal man) looked at the natural turning their
eyes away from Yehowah’s promises,
they failed:
Exo 15:23 And when they cameH935 to Marah,H4785 they couldH3201 notH3808
drinkH8354 of the watersH4325 of Marah,H4480
H4785 forH3588 theyH1992 were bitter:H4751
thereforeH5921 H3651 the nameH8034 of it was calledH7121 Marah.H4785
Exo 15:24 And the peopleH5971 murmuredH3885
againstH5921 Moses,H4872
saying,H559 WhatH4100 shall we drink?H8354
Exo 17:7 and he called the name of the place Massah and Meriḇah, because of the
‘strife’ of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and because they ‘tried’ יהוה, saying, “Is יהוה in our midst or not?”
Exo 17:8 and
Amalĕq came and fought with Yisra’ĕl in Rephiḏim…………………
Exo 17:13 and Yehoshua (son of Nun) defeated
Amalĕq and his people with the edge
of the sword.
See what
the prophet Daniel write concerning the children of Elohim:
Dan 11:32 and such as do wickedly againstH7561
the covenantH1285 shall he corruptH2610 by flatteries:H2514 but the peopleH5971 that do
knowH3045 their ElohimH430 shall be strong,H2388 and doH6213
exploits.
We see two
kinds of people, those who go against the covenant and those who know Elohim.
Are you
among those who will trust Yehowah no
matter what, or do you belong to those wavering between two opinions?
I will also
quote the commentary from Keil and
Delitzsch on this verse from Daniel:
"The consequences to the people of
Israel resulting from this sin against the holy covenant: - The ungodly shall
become heathen, i.e., shall wholly apostatize from the true God; but, on
the other hand, the pious shall be strengthened in their confidence in the YHWH.
This is in general the import of Dan_11:32".
We
see an opposite reaction with David going against a “giant” in the name of Goliath.
David was confident, not on his own power but in Yehowah and knew that Yehowah
will protect his people. (1 Shmu’el 17:3-51)……
1Sa 17:47 and all this
assembly know that יהוה does not
save with sword and spear, for the battle belongs to יהוה, and He
shall give you into our hands.”
Num
13:1 and יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Num 13:2 “Send men to spy out the land of Kenaʽan, which I am giving to the
children of Yisra’ĕl. Send one man from each tribe of their fathers, everyone a
leader among them.”
Num 13:3 And by the command of יהוה Mosheh sent them from the Wilderness of Paran, all of them men who were
heads of the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Num 13:4 and these were their names. From the tribe of Re’uḇĕn: Shammua, son of
Zakkur.
Num 13:5 from the tribe of Shimʽon: Shaphat, son of Ḥori.
Num 13:6 from the tribe of Yehuḏah: Kalĕḇ,
son of Yephunneh.
Num 13:7 from the tribe of Yissasḵar: Yiḡ’al, son of Yosĕph.
Num 13:8 from the tribe of Ephrayim: Hoshĕa,
son of Nun.
Num 13:9 from the tribe of Binyamin: Palti, son of Raphu.
Num 13:10 from the tribe of Zeḇulun: Gaddi’ĕl, son of Soḏi.
Num 13:11 from the tribe of Yosĕph, from the tribe of Menashsheh: Gaddi, son of
Susi.
Num 13:12 from the tribe of Dan: Ammi’ĕl, son of Gemalli.
Num 13:13 from the tribe of Ashĕr: Shĕthur, son of Miḵa’ĕl.
Num 13:14 from the tribe of Naphtali: Naḥbi, son of Wophsi.
Num 13:15 from the tribe of Gaḏ: Geu’ĕl, son of Maḵi.
Num 13:16 these are the names of the men whom Mosheh sent to spy out the land, and Mosheh called Hoshĕa the son of
Nun, Yehoshua.
Num 13:17 and Mosheh sent them to spy out the land of Kenaʽan, and said to them, “Go
up here into the South, and go up to the mountains,
Num 13:18 and see what the land is like, and the people who dwell in it, whether
strong or weak, whether few or many,
Num 13:19 and whether the land they dwell in is good or evil, whether the cities they inhabit are in camps or strongholds,
Num 13:20 and whether the land is rich or poor, and whether there are forests there or not. And you shall be strong,
and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the season of the first-fruits of grapes*. (See my explanation at the end of the
parasha)
Num 13:21 So they went up and spied out the land from the Wilderness of Tsin as far
as Reḥoḇ, near the entrance of Ḥamath.
Num 13:22 and they went up through the South and came to Ḥeḇron. And Aḥiman,
Shĕshai, and Talmai, the descendants of
Anaq, were there. Now Ḥeḇron had been built seven years before Tsoʽan in
Mitsrayim.
Num 13:23 and they came to the wadi Eshkol, and cut down from there a branch with
one cluster of grapes. And they bore it between two of them on a pole, also of
the pomegranates and of the figs.
Num 13:24 That place was called the wadi Eshkol, because of the cluster which the
men of Yisra’ĕl cut down from there.
Num 13:25 and they
returned from spying out the land after forty days.
Num 13:26 and they went and came to Mosheh and Aharon and all the congregation of
the children of Yisra’ĕl in the Wilderness of Paran, at Qaḏĕsh. And they
brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the
fruit of the land.
Num 13:27 and they reported to him, and said, “We went to the land where you sent
us. And truly, it
flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
Num 13:28 “but the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are
walled, very great. And we saw the descendants of Anaq there too.
Num 13:29 “The Amalĕqites dwell in the land of the South, while the Ḥittites and
the Yeḇusites and the Amorites dwell in the mountains. And the Kenaʽanites
dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Yardĕn.”
Num 13:30 And Kalĕḇ
silenced the people before Mosheh, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are certainly
able to overcome it.”
Num 13:31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they
are stronger than we.”
Num 13:32 And they gave
the children of Yisra’ĕl an evil report of the land which they had spied out,
saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land eating up its
inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great size.
Num 13:33 “And we saw there the Nephilim, sons of Anaq, of the Nephilim. And we were
like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and so we were in their eyes.”
Chapter 14.
The
Children of Israel didn’t know the “mercy” of Yehowah, they didn’t have the
trust (confidence) Caleb or Yehoshua had. The report from the ten other spies
prevailed and became a stumbling block to them, that the wanted to go back to
Mitzrayim (Egypt)
Many times
in our own life, when a situation seems too big for us, we shall put our trust
in Yehowah, not in our own ability. You will say, “fine brother Daniel, but
what shall I do?” I understand, sometime it’s not so easy. The best way is not
to hurry in but to go into prayer and seek the Father’s face for guidance, to
be patient and wait to see what Yehowah is doing. I know sometime it seems very
long. When doubt comes just think what happened with Ya’acov and Yoseph who
waited twenty years! I do not say it will take twenty years for our situation
to change, or our problem to be removed, Yehowah will do it in His time.
Numb 14:11 …………………..and how long shall I
(Yehowah) not be trusted by them,
with all the signs which I have done in their midst
Shaul says
that all what happened to our forefathers was an example unto us:
1Co 10:1 For I do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, that all our fathers
were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
1Co 10:2 and all were immersed into Mosheh in the cloud and in
the sea,
1Co 10:3 and all ate the same spiritual food,
1Co 10:4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they
drank of that spiritual Rock that followed, and the
Rock was Messiah.
1Co 10:5 However, with most of them Elohim was not well
pleased, for they were laid low in the wilderness.
1Co 10:6 And these became examples for us, so that we should not lust after evil, as
those indeed lusted……………………………………..
1Co 10:11 and all these came upon them as examples, and they were written as a
warning to us, on whom the ends of the ages have come,
1Co
10:12 so that he who thinks he
stands, let him take heed lest he fall.
1Co
10:13 No trial has overtaken you
except such as is common to man, and Elohim is trustworthy, who shall not allow you to
be tried beyond what you are able, but with the trial shall also make the way of escape, enabling you to bear
it.
Trials are
common to the Set Apart One, because they are not like the world and therefore
will be tried:
2Th 1:3 We ought to give thanks to Elohim always for
you, brothers, as it is proper, because your belief grows exceedingly, and
the love every one of you has for each other is increasing,
2Th 1:4 so that we ourselves boast of you among the
assemblies of Elohim for your endurance and belief in all your persecutions and afflictions which you are bearing,
2Th 1:5 clear evidence of the righteous judgment of Elohim, in order for you to
be counted worthy of the reign of Elohim, for
which you also suffer,
2Th 1:6 since Elohim shall rightly repay with affliction
those who afflict you,
We are
persecuted and afflicted a clear evidence of the righteous judgment of Elohim!
Do you understand that our Judgment is now during our life, in order
that we may be counted worthy of the Kingdom of Elohim, confirmed by Kefa/Peter:
1Pe 4:17 Because it is time for judgment to
begin from the House of Elohim.
And if firstly from us, what is the end of those who do not obey the Good News
of Elohim?
There are
no doubt that the Set Apart One (saints) are judge first that when Yehowah wrath will fall upon the earth,
we will escape for we have not be appointed to wrath, but unto salvation
through Messiah Yehoshua (1st
Tessal.5:9)
When we
make the Torah our daily bread, it become substance in us and fed the inner
man, to strengthen it so that in time of trouble, the small voice in us will
say “remember what is written there and there”, and the peace that transcend
all understanding will keep our heart through Messiah Yehoshua!
Many times
in struggle we found ourselves at peace, this is the confidence we have because
we trust our heavenly Father? Life conditions may be against us, but we do know
that Yehowah is able to change our
situation!
Verses 13-20: Moshe as a faithful “savior” pleads with Yehowah for the Children of Israel, he
intercede for them until Yehowah told
Moshe that He will do what he asked,
is it not what Yehoshua is doing for
us today?
1Jn 2:1 My little children, I write this to you, so that you do not sin. And if
anyone sins, we have an Intercessor* with the Father, יהושע Messiah,
a righteous One.
*Intercessor: G3875 παράκλητος parakletos
(par-ak'-lay-tos) n.
1. (properly) one called near (to give help)
2. an intercessor (one who entreats of behalf of another
The Torah
tells us that the Children of Israel tempted Yehowah ten times (14:22). Ten is the sum of all numbers the result
of these ten temptations was that Yehowah
says:
Numb 14:30 ‘None of
you except Kalĕḇ son of Yephunneh, and
Yehoshua son of Nun, shall enter the land which I swore I would make you
dwell in.
Caleb Son of Yephuneh a picture of the righteous Yehudin who follow Yehoshua
HaMoschiach!
Yehoshua Son of Nun representing the righteous from the House of Israel (Ephraim) who like their
brethren from Yehudah follows also Yehoshua HaMoschiach!
When we look at
the father name we can see more concerning the nature of Caleb and Yehoshua:
Yephunneh: Strong’s # H3312 יפנּה written yod, pheh, nun, He.
yephûnneh yef-oon-neh'
From H6437; he will be prepared;
H6437 pânâh paw-naw'
A primitive root; to turn; by implication to face,
that is, appear, look, etc.: - appear, at [even-] tide, behold,
cast out, come on, X corner, dawning, empty, go away, lie, look, mark, pass
away, prepare, regard, (have) respect (to), (re-) turn (aside, away, back, face, self), X right [early].
Yehoshua: Strong’s # H3091 יהושׁוּע written: yod, He, vav,
shin, vav, ayin.
yehôshûa‛ yeh-ho-shoo'-ah, From H3068 and H3467; Yehovah-saved; Yehoshua
(that is, Joshua), the leader: - Yehoshua,
Yehoshuah,Yoshua. Compare H1954, H3442.
Nun:
Strong’s # H5126 נוּן written nun, vav, nun sofit
nûn From H5125; perpetuity; Nun
or Non,
H5125 A primitive root; to resprout, that is, propagate by
shoots;
So we could read the verse:
Numb 14:30 ‘None of you except
Kalĕḇ son of Yephunneh (those prepared who will return), and
Yehoshua son of Nun (Yehowah save the shoots in perpetuity), shall enter the
land which I swore I would make you dwell in.
Do you
think it is different today? The answer is No!
Who are
those trusting Yehowah today, are
they the antinomian Christians who
reject the Torah, or “Jews” following
Judaism after the traditions of the
rabbis?
None of these
two groups, but those who follow Messiah by faith in his name, keeping the
Torah not after the letter but in the Ruach, following the Set Apart Spirit.
I know they
are some telling people that the “Jews”
do not need to believe in Yeshua in
order to enter the Kingdom; this is heresy and false doctrine:
Act 4:12 “And there is no deliverance
(salvation) in anyone else, for there
is no other Name* under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.”
1Co 1:24 but to those who are called
– both Yehuḏim and Greeks (read
Helene) – Messiah the power of Elohim and the wisdom
of Elohim.
1Co 9:20 and to
the Yehuḏim I became as a Yehuḏite, that I might win Yehuḏim; to those who
are under Torah, as under Torah (Oral
Torah), so as to win those who are under Torah (Oral Torah);

*The Name
by which man can be saved is: Yehowah, the Name given to our Master
Yeho-shua, the Word made flesh.
“Save Caleb and Yehoshua” (14:30). This is amazing to see that from those above
twenty only Caleb and Yehoshua will be able to enter the
promise land!
Caleb son of Yepunneth a Yehudin and Yehoshua son of
Nun an Ephramite: Both
representing the remnant of the House of Yehuda and the House of Israel and their
descendants, those who were not twenty years old.
Do you
remember what Yehoshua says?
Mat 18:3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become as little
children, you shall by no means enter into the reign of the heavens.
Children do
not ask or doubt, they follow their father and trust him whatever he say!
Verses 40-45. The Children of Israel realized that they have
done evil against Yehowah and tried
to force their destiny by taking the initiative to go to fight against the Amalekites and the Canaanites
“Therefore Yehowah will not be with you”. It is
foolishness to go when we rebel against Yehowah, because we have no
protection.
It is amazing
to read what happen to them, when we read the Haftorah when Yohushua
sent the two spies, Rahab told them
that they all were afraid of the Children of Israel because they had heard of
what Elohim did for them:
Jos 2:9 and she said to the men, “I know that יהוה has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of
the land melt away because of you.
Jos 2:10 “For we have
heard how יהוה dried up the water of the Sea of Reeds for you when you came out of Mitsrayim,
and what you did to the two sovereigns of the Amorites who were beyond the
Yardĕn, Siḥon and Oḡ, whom you put under the ban.
Jos 2:11 “And when we heard, our hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in
anyone because of you, for יהוה your
Elohim, He is Elohim in the heavens above and on earth beneath.
Today we
have also a promise in Yehoshua to
enter the promise land, the Kingdom of Elohim. We shall therefore keep our eyes
on the promise and proclaim them whenever the enemy try to bring fear on us,
circumstances do not stop Elohim!
Before I
close this chapter I want to point to something which will become of high
importance in the judgment coming upon the House of Ya’acov:
Verse 34 we read: ‘According
to the number of the days in which you spied out the land, forty days – a day for a year,
This
pattern has become relevant today in understanding the punishment of Ephraim,
the House of Israel and for the House of Yehuda
(see my Midrash “Forty days and Forty years”).
This we
should learn from the rebellion of the Children of Israel who after having
"swallowed" the word of the ten spies tried to go on their own in
spite of the warning from Moshe (verses 40-45). Moshe was the fore-runner of
Messiah (D'avrim/Deut. 18:15-19), today we have some fellow who try to bring
people back to Israel under promises of great blessing! If we look what Yehowah
did, and how he brought the Children of Israel to the Promise Land, we see the
pattern refers to Yehoshua, in the action of Moshe laying his hands upon
Yehoshua the son of Nun before he died (D'avrim 34:9).
Num 14:1 then all the
congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night.
Num 14:2 and all the children of
Yisra’ĕl grumbled against Mosheh and against Aharon, and all the congregation said to them, “If only we
had died in the land of Mitsrayim! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!
Num 14:3 “And why is יהוה bringing us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children
should become a prey? Would it not be better for us to turn back to Mitsrayim?”
Num 14:4 and they said to each other, “Let us appoint a leader, and let us turn
back to Mitsrayim.”
Num 14:5 Then Mosheh and Aharon fell on their faces before all the assembly of the
congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Num 14:6 and Yehoshua
son of Nun, and Kalĕḇ son of Yephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the
land, tore their garments,
Num 14:7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl,
saying, “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land.
Num 14:8 “If יהוה has delighted in us, then He shall bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which
is flowing with milk and honey.’
Num 14:9 “Only, do not
rebel against יהוה, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our
bread. Their defence has turned away from them, and יהוה is with us. Do not fear them.”
Num 14:10 But all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Then the esteem of יהוה appeared in the Tent of Meeting before all the children of
Yisra’ĕl.
Num 14:11 and יהוה said to Mosheh, “How long shall I be scorned by these
people? And how long shall I not be trusted by them, with all the signs which I have done in
their midst?
Num 14:12 “Let Me smite them with the pestilence and disinherit them, and make of
you a nation greater and mightier than they.”
Num 14:13 and Mosheh
said to יהוה, “Then the
Mitsrites shall hear it, for by Your power You brought these people up from
their midst,
Num 14:14 and they shall say to the inhabitants of this land they have heard that
You, יהוה, are in the
midst of these people, that You, יהוה, are seen eye to eye and that Your cloud stands above them, and
You go before them in a column of cloud by day and in a column of fire by
night.
Num 14:15 “Now if You shall kill these people as one man, then the nations which
have heard of Your report shall speak, saying,
Num 14:16 ‘Because יהוה was not able to bring this people to the land which He swore to give them, therefore He killed them in the
wilderness.’
Num 14:17 “And now, I pray, let the power of יהוה be great, as You have spoken, saying,
Num 14:18 ‘יהוה is patient and of great kindness, forgiving crookedness and transgression,
but by no means leaving unpunished1;
visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth
generation.’ Footnote: 1This is confirmed in Ex. 34:7 and in
Jer. 30:11.
Num 14:19 “Please forgive the crookedness of this people, according to the greatness
of Your kindness, as You have forgiven this people, from Mitsrayim even until
now.”
Num 14:20 and יהוה said, “I shall forgive, according
to your word,
Num 14:21 but truly, as I live and all the earth is filled with the esteem of יהוה,
Num 14:22 for none of
these men who have
seen My esteem and the signs which I did in Mitsrayim and in the wilderness,
and have
tried Me now these ten times, and have disobeyed My voice,
Num 14:23 shall see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor any of those who
scorned Me see it.
Num 14:24 “But My servant Kalĕḇ, because he has a different spirit in him and has
followed Me completely, I shall bring into the land where he went, and his seed
shall inherit it.
Num 14:25 “Since the Amalĕqites and the Kenaʽanites are dwelling in the valley, turn
back tomorrow and set out into the wilderness by the Way of the Sea of Reeds.”
Num 14:26 and יהוה spoke to Mosheh, and to Aharon,
saying,
Num 14:27 “How long shall this evil congregation have this grumbling against Me? I
have heard the grumblings which the children of Yisra’ĕl are grumbling against
Me.
Num 14:28 “Say to them, ‘As I live,’ declares יהוה, ‘as you have spoken in My hearing, so I do to you:
Num 14:29 ‘The
carcasses of you who have grumbled against Me are going to fall in this
wilderness, all of you who were registered, according to your entire number,
from twenty years old and above.
Num 14:30 ‘None of
you except Kalĕḇ son of Yephunneh, and Yehoshua son of Nun, shall enter the
land which I swore I would make you dwell in.
Num 14:31 ‘But your little ones, whom you said would become a prey, I shall bring
in, and they shall know the land which you have rejected.
Num 14:32 ‘But as for you, your carcasses are going to fall in this wilderness.
Num 14:33 ‘And your
sons shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your whorings, until your carcasses are consumed in
the wilderness.
Num 14:34 ‘According to the number of the days in which you spied out the land,
forty days – a day for a year, a day for a year – you are to bear your crookednesses forty years, and
you shall know My breaking off.
Num 14:35 ‘I am יהוה, I have
spoken, I shall do this to all this evil congregation who are meeting against
Me: In this wilderness they are consumed, and there they die.’ ”
Num 14:36 and the men whom Mosheh sent to spy out the land, who returned and made
all the congregation grumble against him by bringing an evil report of the
land,
Num 14:37 even those men
who brought the evil report about the land, died by the plague before יהוה.
Num 14:38 Of those men who went to spy out the land, only Yehoshua son of Nun, and
Kalĕḇ son of Yephunneh remained alive.
Num 14:39 and when Mosheh spoke these words to all the children of Yisra’ĕl, the
people mourned greatly.
Num 14:40 and they rose up early in the morning and went up to the top of the
mountain, saying, “See, we have indeed sinned, but we shall go up to the place which יהוה had spoken of!”
Num 14:41 But Mosheh said, “Why do you now transgress the command of יהוה, since it
does not prosper?
Num 14:42 “Do not go up, lest you be smitten by your enemies, for יהוה is not in your midst.
Num 14:43 “Because the Amalĕqites and the Kenaʽanites are there before you, and you
shall fall by the sword. Because you have turned away from יהוה, יהוה is not with you.”
Num 14:44 But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop, but neither the ark of the
covenant of יהוה nor Mosheh left the camp.
Num 14:45 So the Amalĕqites and the Kenaʽanites who dwelt in that mountain came down
and smote them, and beat them down, even to Ḥormah.
Chapter 15.
Just after
the debacle of searching the land, Yehowah
speaks to Moshe concerning those who
will enter the land, the remnant, the
children of those who came out of Mitzrayim. He brings in remembrance, the
sacrifices and also that there is no difference for the strangers, or whosoever
is among the Children of Israel (verse 14), they will have to keep the same
ordinances: “One Torah and One manner” (verses 15-16).
Sha’ul speaking to the believers in Ephesus telling
them:
Eph 2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but
fellow citizens with the set-apart ones and members of the household of Elohim,1
Footnote: 1Rom. 11:17-24, Isa. 14:1.
If so,
those who were “strangers” and “foreigners” have become one with the Set Apart
One (saints), and members (i.e. Israelites). How it is with the Torah, is it
excluded? Elohim forbid, the Torah is established for all the members of the
Household. In the book of Acts we read concerning those returning to the Torah,
what Ya’acov say:
Act
15:13 And after they were silent, Yaʽaqoḇ
answered, saying, “Men, brothers, listen to me:…………………………
Act
15:15 “And the words of the prophets
agree with this, as it has been written:
Act
15:16 ‘After this I shall return
and rebuild the Booth of Dawiḏ which has fallen down. And I shall rebuild its
ruins, and I shall set it up,
Act
15:17 so that the remnant of
mankind shall seek יהוה, even all the gentiles (goyim/nations)
on whom My Name has been called, says יהוה who is doing all this,’
Act 15:18 who has made this known from of old.
Act 15:19 “Therefore I judge that we should
not trouble those from among the gentiles (goyim/nations) who are turning to
Elohim
Act
15:20 but that we write to them to abstain from
the defilements of idols, and from whoring, and from what is strangled, and from blood.1 Footnote: 1See
v.29.
Act 15:21 “For from ancient generations Mosheh (i.e. the Torah) has, in every
city, those proclaiming him – being
read in the congregations (assemblies) every Sabbath.”
There were
four things required for those returning to the Torah in order to be accepted:
· Defilement of idols (images worship)
· Whoring (going after other gods that
is fornication)
· What is strangled (animals who were
killed by strangulation, having no blood removed.
· From blood: Vayiqra 16 concerning
the animals clean and unclean whose blood must be drawn (it include also have
sexual rapport during the menstruation), you may be choked, but I can tell you
that in western country it is common and people are not afraid.
The rest
(of the mitzvoth/commandments) will be learned during the Shabbat when hearing
the Torah (Moshe) in the congregation.
Christianity
has been deceived following the doctrines of the “Mother of harlots” (Revel.
17:5). Those who are not able to separate themselves from her will also receive
of her plague, this is a very strong warning (Revel. 18:4)!
Since
Constantine, and even before, apostasy has been rampant; many have followed the
doctrines of demons.
Sha’ul warns in the book of Hebrew 3:7-19. Unbelief
is the lack of trust in Yehowah. HaSatan, the enemy will do all to make
people believe a lie, but the remnant will stand feast and wait for Yehowah.
The word
“stranger” in the Tanak and the Brit Chadasha (Old and New Testament),
have the same meaning/
Stranger: Strong’s #H1616 Ger,
a guest, an alien, by implication a foreigner, sojourner.
Greek: Strong’s #G3581 xenos, an alien, by implication
a guest, host, stranger.
Who are
these “strangers”, are they pagans or heathen?

The
strangers who love Yehowah are
members of the Household of Elohim
whether been of the seed of Abraham
(descendants) or having been joined through faith in Yehoshua to the Household.
If now in
Messiah those coming to the faith, have been made partaker of the covenant
which is the Torah, and share the same Household with Yehowah’ Set Apart One, how come that today, Christianity
vehemently reject the Torah and all what is commanded by Elohim in order to follow the doctrines of men?
Could it be
that is the great delusion spoken off by Sha’ul
to the Thessalonians (2nd Tessal. 2:9-12)?
What does Yehowah says: “The heart is deceitful
above all, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I Yehowah search the heart (will) and try the reins (emotion) even to
give every man according to the fruit of his doing (Yrmeyahu 17:9-10)
Verses 37-41.
And it
shall be for you for a Tzitziot, that you may look upon it and remember all
the commandments of יהוה and do them……….
It is
interesting to read that the commandments of Tzitziot is given just after
sinning unintentionally (verse 29) or through ignorance, and right after the
man breaking the Shabbat.
The
Children of Israel (carnal man) didn’t had the Ruach HaQodesh (Set Apart Spirit), they had the Tzitziot as reminder. I know some will
argue with me, but fact is that the Ruach
HaQodesh came upon Moshe, David,
and others in order to lead them in their decision
Num 11:29 Then
Mosheh said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? Oh, that all the people of יהוה were prophets, that יהוה would put His Spirit upon them!”
Num 24:2 And Bilʽam lifted up his eyes and saw Yisra’ĕl encamped according to
their tribes. And the Spirit of Elohim came upon him.
Jdg 3:10 And the
Spirit of יהוה came upon him, and he ruled Yisra’ĕl, and went out
to battle,…….
Jdg 6:34 Then the
Spirit of יהוה came upon Giḏʽon, and he blew the ram’s horn
1Sa 11:6 And the
Spirit of Elohim came upon
Sha’ul mightily…..
1Sa 16:13 And
Shemu’ĕl took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers.
And the Spirit of יהוה came upon Dawiḏ from that day
and onwards.
Isa 11:2 The
Spirit of יהוה shall rest upon Him –
Isa 42:1 “See, My
Servant whom I uphold, My Chosen One My being has delighted in! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He brings forth right-ruling to the nations.
Joe 2:28 “And after this it
shall be that I pour out My
Spirit on all flesh.
Mat 12:18 “See, My
Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My being did delight. I shall put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall declare right-ruling to the

- - First ripe grapes: Hebrew bekuri onabyim, is directly connected to the Firstfruits of the Fall Harvest which bring us to the feast of Succoth!
Let us see what these first ripe grapes have to do with us. Grapes come from the vineyard:
We need to know more concerning vineyard, wine in order to understand:
Isa 5:1 now will I sing to my well beloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My well beloved hath a vineyard in
a very fruitful hill:
Isa 5:2 and he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth
grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
Isa 5:3 and now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you,
betwixt me and my vineyard………….
We see
that the vineyard has be planted by Yehowah:
Isa 5:4 what could have been done more to my vineyard that I have not
done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes,
brought it forth wild* grapes?
Wild grapes (Isa.5:4): Whenever the term “wild”
is used it mostly refers to “unclean” animals or trees or what is outside the
will of Elohim.(b’reshit/Gen.16:12, 2
King 4:39, 14:9, Yob 11:12, 39:15, Psalm 80:13, Isa.13:21…..)
Hos 13:8 I will
meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of
their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
In the
Brit Hachadasha:
Act 11:6 upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw
fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild
beasts, and creeping things, and
fowls of the air.
Mar 1:13 and he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and
was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
Rom 11:24 for if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree:
how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their
own olive tree?
Back to the prophet Yeshayahu:
Isa 5:5 and now go to;
I (YHWH) will tell you what I will do
to my vineyard: I will take away
the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof,
and it shall be trodden down:
Isa 5:6 and I will
lay it waste: it shall not be pruned (read Yochanan/John 15:1-6), nor digged; but there shall come up
briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon
it.
Isa 5:7 for the
vineyard of YHWH of hosts is the house of Israel*, and the men of Judah his
pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for
righteousness, but behold a cry.
*The House of Israel
(Ephraim and Yehudah)
Isa 5:8 Woe unto them
that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that
they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!
Isa 5:9 In mine ears said YHWH of hosts, Of a truth many
houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
Yeshoshua gives a parable concerning a
vineyard:
Mat 21:33 hear another parable: There was a certain householder (Yehowah),
which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in
it, and built a tower, and let it out
to husbandmen (Pharisee), and went into a far country:
Mat 21:34 and when
the time of the fruit drew near, he
sent his servants (prophets) to the
husbandmen (Pharisee), that they might receive the fruits of it.
Mat 21:35 and the
husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned
another.
Mat 21:36 again,
he sent other servants (prophets) more than the first: and they did unto them
likewise.
Mat 21:37 but last
of all he sent unto them his son (Yehoshua),
saying, they (the Pharisee) will
reverence my son.
Mat 21:38 but when
the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come,
let us kill him (sound
like Yoseph and his brethren read: b’reshit 37:13-24) , and let us seize on his inheritance.
Mat 21:39 and they caught him, and cast him out of the
vineyard, and slew him.
Mat 21:40 when the
master therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
Mat 21:41 They say
unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other
husbandmen (the righteous following Moschiach), which shall render him the
fruits in their seasons.
Mat 21:42 Yehoshua saith unto them, Did ye never read
in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become
the head of the corner: this is YHWH's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes?
Mat 21:43
Therefore say I unto you, The
kingdom of Elohim shall be taken from you (Pharisee), and given to a nation (ethnos, group of people) bringing forth the
fruits thereof……..
Mat 21:45 and when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they
perceived that he spake of them.
Now
with this in mind we should be able to understand what Yochanan/John says in the book of revelation. After that I will explain
the work of the winepress:
Rev 14:18 and another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire;
and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather
the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.(It
is the harvest time or fall feast!!!!)
Rev
14:19 and the angel thrust in his
sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the
wrath of YHWH.
Rev
14:20 and the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of
the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six
hundred furlongs.
In the time of harvest when the
grapes are brought into the barns the
juice of the grape come out by a natural process, the grapes on the top
pressing the grapes below, so that the juice of the clusters is realized
without men intervention. It is called the “First choice juice”!
The
second process is what in the scriptures is called the “wrath of Elohim”, the release of the juice by
violence. The grapes are brought into the winepress (see picture), the plate on
the top laid on the grapes and the process of releasing the “second juice”
is by pressure. Men bring the heavy plate on the grapes on the top to squeeze
the clusters, bringing slowly the plate down by a mechanical process around the
middle spiral until no more juice come out. The boards forming the winepress
have a small opening which let the juice run out of the wine press.
Act 11:6 upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw
fourfooted beasts of the earth, and
wild beasts, and creeping things, and
fowls of the air.
Mar 1:13 and he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and
was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.
Rom 11:24 for if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree:
how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their
own olive tree?
May Yehovah bless you as you follow Yehoshua
HaMoschiach in the path of life, the Torah.
