Is Yeshua YHWH the Father?
2Ti 2:15 Study
to shew thyself approved unto YHWH, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
In this midrash we are going
to look at the scriptures to see if what many in the body of Moschiach says: "Yeshua is YHWH in the flesh",
believing that the Father is Yeshua!
I have struggle
many years with different approach, saying: Yeshua
is theAngel of YHWH, Yeshua is YHWH the Father, Yeshua is Elohim, meaning
he is also the Father.
What does the
scriptures says?
Christians will
tell you that in the so called "Old
Testamen" "Jesus" is there. Many messianic will also have similar statements, only changing the name
wit Yeshua.
Is it true that
when it is written in b'reshit/Gen. 1:26:
"let US make man in our own
image..." that Elohim is
speaking with Yeshua?
Is it true that
when the three messengers of YHWH appear to Abram
they are two messengers with Yeshua,
or as I have also read, The Father, the
Son and the "Holy Spirit", or for some others two messengers with Yeshua?
I have been
surprise to see that even some good scholars who say to be "Jew" in order to give proof that there research are more
accurate than a Goy/Gentile promote Yeshua to be YHWH in the flesh.
This statement
disturb me, because it is to pretend that YHWH
changed is nature and took the form of a human in order to be among his
people. Can we see that in the scriptures?
We are going to
see these points and give room to the scriptures to explain YHWH's Heart toward His people.
Before reading I
will encourage you to lay beside all false conclusion and pray for an open
heart and a right understanding. You may be surprise at the conclusion, just
keep your heart for correction if necessary, you will not be the first, I have
adjust my opinion many times in the last 10 years:
2Ti 3:16 All
scripture is given by inspiration of YHWH, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That
the man of YHWH may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
First, one major error that many do, is that they take the Brit HaChadsha and try to explain what
they read outside the Torah, thus try
to place the "car before the ox". Every serious scholar will say that
the Torah is the foundation of all interpretation, Prophets and Brit HaChadsha.
This include the apostles and even our Master Yeshua.
Yochanan/John (at least if it is he who wrote the book) had a very deep understanding
in Hebrew interpretation. Since more
than 20 centuries, the Greek mind has
invaded the whole world and formed a philosophical thinking which cannot match
with the Scriptures written by Hebrew people for Hebrew minded people.
The Greek mind is abstract in its structure and is based on the ego of man, to determine what is right
or what is wrong.
This is not the purpose of this midrash
to go into details, suffice to say that we should make real effort to see
from a Hebrew perspective in order to
understand.
DO NOT TRY to understand what is NOT WRITTEN just
because you THINK that this is the meaning! You will be wrong. Search and
establish thing by two or three witness:
Deu 19:15 One
witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in
any sin that he sinneth: at the
mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be
established.
Mat 18:16 But if
he will not hear thee, then take
with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every
word may be established.
We will see that the scriptures is filled with many verses which confirm
one another in a perfect sense.
Let us go back to the Book of
Yochanan:
Joh 1:1 In the
beginning (b'reshit in Hebrew) was the Word, and the Word was with YHWH,
and the Word was YHWH.
Joh 1:2 The
same was in the beginning with YHWH.
Joh 1:3 All
things were made by him; and without
him was not anything made that was made.
Now first let us see that in 1560 C.E. many translators like William Tendale who got hold on the
Septuagint the Greek documents translated differently as those taking hold on
the Latin Vulgate from Jerome:
First the King James version 1611
who follow Jerome Vulgate:
Joh 1:1 In the
beginning was the Word, & the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The
same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All
things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made
that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him
was life, and the life was the light of
men.
Now let us look at two witness of the time:
The Bishops from 1568:
Joh 1:1 In the
begynnyng was the worde, & the
worde was with God: and that worde was God.
Joh 1:2 The
same was in the begynnyng with God.
Joh 1:3 All
thynges were made by it: and without it, was made nothyng that was made.
Joh 1:4 In it
was lyfe, and the lyfe was the lyght of
men,
Geneva from 1587:
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was that Word, and that Word
was with God, and that Word was God.
Joh 1:2 This
same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All
things were made by it, and without
it was made nothing that was made.
Joh 1:4 In it
was life, and that life was the light of
men.
In the two translation from Bishops
and the Geneva, like in the
translation from Tyndale, they all
follow the Septuagint and using the
impersonal pronoun "it",
while those using the Latin Vulgate use
the personal pronoun "him".
So we read in the Bishops:
Joh 1:14 And
the same word became fleshe, and
dwelt among vs ( and we sawe the glory of it, as the glory of the only begotten
sonne of the father) full of grace and trueth.
The Geneva give it so:
Joh 1:14 And
that Word was made flesh, and dwelt among vs, (and we sawe the glorie thereof, as
the glorie of the onely begotten Sonne of the Father) full of grace and trueth.
We see the consistency in the "it", the Word who became flesh,
while all others scriptures based on Latin
Vulgate read "him" suggesting what is NOT in the text.
Let us now investigate what the Torah and the Word
have in common with the words of Yochanan.
Gen 1:1 In the
beginning (b'reshit) Elohim created
the heaven and the earth.
Gen 1:2 And the
earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen 1:3 And
Elohim said, Let there be light: and
there was light.
Gen 1:4 And
Elohim saw the light, that it was good: and Elohim divided the light from the
darkness.
Gen 1:5 And
Elohim called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was
evening and there was morning, the first day.
Gen 1:6 And
Elohim said, Let there be a firmament
in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
Gen 1:7 And
Elohim made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament
from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Gen 1:8 And
Elohim called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was
morning, the second day.
Gen 1:9 And
Elohim said, Let the waters under the
heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it
was so.
Gen 1:10 And Elohim
called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he
Seas: and Elohim saw that it was good.
Gen 1:11 And
Elohim said, Let the earth bring
forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after
his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
Gen 1:12 And the
earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree
yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and Elohim saw that
it was good.
Gen 1:13 And
there was evening and there was morning, the third day.
Gen 1:14 And
Elohim said, Let there be lights in
the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be
for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Gen 1:15 And let
them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth:
and it was so.
Gen 1:16 And
Elohim made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser
light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
Gen 1:17 And
Elohim set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
Gen 1:18 And to
rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness:
and Elohim saw that it was good.
Gen 1:19 And
there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.
Gen 1:20 And
Elohim said, Let the waters bring
forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly
above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
Gen 1:21 And
Elohim created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the
waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after
his kind: and Elohim saw that it was good.
Gen 1:22 And
Elohim blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in
the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
Gen 1:23 And
there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.
Gen 1:24 And
Elohim said, Let the earth bring
forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast
of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
Gen 1:25 And
Elohim made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind,
and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and Elohim saw
that it was good.
Gen 1:26 And
Elohim said, Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over
every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So
Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him;
male and female created he them.
Gen 1:28 And
Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and
replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the
earth.
Gen 1:29 And
Elohim said, Behold, I have given you
every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every
tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for
meat.
Gen 1:30 And to
every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that
creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb
for meat: and it was so.
Gen 1:31 And
Elohim saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And
there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
Ten times: "Elohim
said"
Remember what we read before:
Joh 1:1 In the beginning
(b'reshit) was that Word, and that Word was with God, and that Word was God.
Joh 1:2 This
same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All
things were made by it, and without
it was made nothing that was made.
Joh 1:4 In it
was life, and that life was the light of
men.
The Greek word
for "Word" is "logos",
while in Hebrew it is "dabar".
Let us see
definition from both words:
Strong's G3056
λόγος logos log'-os
From G3004; something said (including the thought);
G3004 egō
leg'-o
A
primary verb; properly to “lay” forth,
that is, (figuratively) relate (in words [usually of systematic or set discourse;
whereas G2036 and G5346 generally refer to an individual expression or speech respectively; while G4483 is properly to break silence
merely, and G2980 means an extended
or random harangue]); by implication to mean: - ask, bid, boast, call,
describe, give out, name, put forth, say
(-ing, on), shew, speak, tell,
utter.
Now the same
with the word "dabar":
H1697
דּבר dâbâr daw-bawr' written dalet,beth, resh
From H1696;
a word; by implication a matter
(as spoken of) of thing; adverbially a cause: - act,
advice, affair, answer, X any such (thing), +
H1696 dâbar daw-bar'
A primitive root; perhaps properly to arrange; but used
figuratively (of words) to speak; rarely (in a destructive sense) to subdue:
"Something said including the thoughts" We should ask where is the place of the thoughts in Adam or mankind, is it not part of the Nefesh,
the Soul?
So Elohim is Ruach but like he gave to us he has THOUGHTS:
Elohim uses allegories in order to help us to understand part of what He want
us to know. Many times throughout the Scriptures, Elohim is painted with human attributes to gives us insight of His
character and will.
Isa 55:8 For my
thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, saith YHWH.
What are the thoughts of Elohim?
Strong's # H4284
מחשׁבה machăshâbâh
From H2803; a contrivance, that is,
(concretely) a texture, machine, or (abstractly) intention,
plan (whether bad, a plot; or good, advice): - cunning
(work), curious work, device (-sed), imagination,
invented, means, purpose, thought.
H2803 châshab khaw-shab'
A primitive root; properly to plait or
interpenetrate, that is, (literally) to weave or (generally) to fabricate;
figuratively to plot or contrive (usually in a malicious sense); hence (from the mental effort) to think,
regard, value, compute: - (make) account (of), conceive, consider, count, cunning
(man, work, workman), devise, esteem, find out, forecast, hold, imagine,
impute, invent, be like, mean, purpose, reckon (-ing be made), regard,
think.
Could it be what
we read in b'reshit/Gen. chapter 1: "Elohim said".
The Word/dabar/logos/Thoughts of the mind of
Elohim were spoken by Elohim
(said) and created everything Elohim had
intentionally prepared beforehand?
Let us go
further and see throughout the Tanak what
is the position of "the Word":
Gen 15:1 After
these things the word of YHWH came
unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear
not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

behold, the word of YHWH came unto

waxed short? thou shalt see now whether
my word shall come to pass unto thee

shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the

with him, even all the congregation.

earth.
2Ki 7:1 Then

saying,

thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
Isa 45:23 I have
sworn by myself, the word is gone
out of my mouth in righteousness, and
shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
The foundation of Yochanan 1:14
Isa 55:11 So
shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not
return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it
shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (to be read in the light of Yochanan chapter 1:14)
Here we see why the English translators using the
Septuagint used the impersonal pronoun "it"
Jer 1:11 Moreover
the word of YHWH came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I
said, I see a rod of an almond tree.

the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,
Zec 1:7 Upon
the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in
the second year of Darius, came the
word of YHWH unto Zechariah, the son
of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
Zec 7:8 And
the word of YHWH came unto Zechariah, saying,
Zec 8:18 And
the word of YHWH of hosts came unto me, saying,
Now that we have
seen how the Word of YHWH came in
the Tanak, let us see if we find a

come into the world (referring to the word of Moshe in D'varim 18) .
Joh 7:40 Many of
the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet (not "a" prophet but
"THE" Prophet).
Yeshua the image of Elohim:
2Co 4:4 In whom
the elohim of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest
the light of the glorious evangel of the Messiah, who is the image of YHWH*,
should shine unto them.
* The "image " of Elohim is not a "N.T." concept but comes from hidden
passage which YHWH has embedded in his Word the Torah of truth like
Gen 1:26 And
Elohim said, Let us make man
(Adam) in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Elohim, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of
workmanship,

the image of the invisible Elohim, the
firstborn of every creature:
Heb 1:3 Who
being the brightness of his glory, and the
express image of his person, and
upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged
our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Col 1:15 Who is
the image of the invisible Elohim,
the firstborn of every creature:

was manifested the love of YHWH toward us, because that YHWH sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through
him.
1Jn 5:10 He that
believeth on the Son of YHWH hath the witness in himself: he that
believeth not YHWH hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record

my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to
my Elohim, and your Elohim.

both he that sanctifieth and they who are set apart are all of one: for which
cause he is not ashamed to call them

assembly will I sing praise unto thee.
We, believers are called to be like Yeshua:
Rom 8:29 For
whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn
among many brethren.
Difficult passages:
Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine
own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Was it Yeshua (the word
made flesh) who had the glory before the
world was?

give thanks to Your name for Your mercy, and for Your truth; for You have magnified Your Word above
all Your name.
Col 1:16 For by him* (The Word) were all things
created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things
were created by him, and for him:
* We have seen that some early translators of the 16th
century call teh Word "it" instead of "him" for those
translating from the Latin Vulgate from
Jerome. This is more coherent with our study of the scriptures as we have
established.
Yeshua is subject to the Father:
1Co 15:25 For he
(Yeshua) must reign, till he (YHWH) hath
put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The
last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

1Co 15:28 And
when all things shall be subdued unto him
(Yeshua), then shall the Son also
himself be subject unto him (YHWH) that
put all things under him
(Yeshua), that YHWH may be all in all.

are written in this book:

any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, YHWH shall take away his part out of the
book of life, and out of the holy
city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Midrash in the First
Century
Yochanan/John was an
Hebrew (Jew) speaking and thinking Hebraic. When he wrote the Gospel of “John”,
he had a specific word in his mind:
(Isa 55:10 [NRKJV])
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven,
and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth
and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
(Isa 55:11 [NRKJV])
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my
mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I
please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
(John 1:14 [NRKJV])
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only first born of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
(Rev 19:10 [NRKJV])
(Rev 19:10 [NRKJV])
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said
unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that
have the testimony of Yehoshua: worship יהוה: for the testimony of Yehoshua is the spirit of prophecy.
(Rev 19:11 [NRKJV])
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and
he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth
judge and make war.
(Rev 19:12 [NRKJV])
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were
many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
(Rev 19:13 [NRKJV])
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and
his name is called THE WORD of יהוה.
Is there any question, can we now conclude that
Yeshua IS the Word made flesh according to the scriptures and that He is NOT the Father, can we say
that Yeshua is the Image of Elohim but NOT Yehowah Elohim?
May Yehowah bless you and keep you as you walk
in the path of life, following the steps of our Master Yeshua HaMoschiach.
