THE MOAB COVENANT vs THE HOREB COVENANT

The Moab Covenant
Daniel ben Ya’acov Ysrael

In this paper, I would like to scrutinize a covenant which Yehovah commanded Moshe to give to the Children of Ysrael, in order to see what the repercussions are in the later days.

In the book of d’varim (Deuteronomie) chapter 28, Moshe list the blessings and curses which can befall Ysrael for obedience or disobedience. First what we can read is the curses are far more than the blessing. The answer is given us in another place: In Vayiqra (Leveticus) chapter 26, Yehovah warn the Children of Ysrael that he will punish them seven times more for disobedience. Quite interesting:
Lev 26:21  ‘And if you walk contrary to Me, and refuse to obey Me, I shall bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins,

The chapter 26 of Vayiqra lists also many plagues to come upon the Children of Ysrael for disobedience and one of them is:
Lev 26:33  ‘And I shall scatter you among the gentiles and draw out a sword after you. And your land shall be desert and your cities ruins,
Lev 26:34  and the land enjoy its Sabbaths as long as it lies waste and you are in your enemies’ land. Then the land would rest and enjoy its Sabbaths.
Which is recorded in the book of Daniel following the word of the prophet Yrmeyahu (Jeremiah):
Dan 9:2  in the first year of his reign I, Dani’ĕl, observed from the Scriptures the number of the years, according to the word of
יהוה given to Yirmeyah the prophet, for the completion of the wastes of Yerushalayim would be seventy years.
Jer 25:11  ‘And all this land shall be a ruin and a waste, and these nations shall serve the sovereign of Baḇel seventy years.
Jer 25:12  ‘And it shall be, when seventy years are completed, that I shall punish the sovereign of Baḇel and that nation, the land of the Chaldeans, for their crookedness,’ declares יהוה, ‘and shall make it everlasting ruins.
Jer 25:13  ‘And I shall bring on that land all My words which I have pronounced against it, all that is written in this book, which Yirmeyahu has prophesied concerning all the nations.
Jer 25:14  ‘For they too shall be enslaved by many nations and great sovereigns. And I shall repay them according to their deeds and according to the works of their hands.’ ”
Jer 25:15  For thus said יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl to me, “Take this wine cup of wrath from My hand, and make all the nations, to whom I send you, drink it.
Here we have an example how accurate the Word of Yehovah is!
Now let us come back to the Moab Covenant.
This is very particular as it is a covenant BESIDE the covenant Yehovah made with Ysrael at Mount Sinai:
Deu 29:1 These are the words of the covenant which יהוה commanded Mosheh to make with the children of Yisra’ĕl in the land of Mo’aḇ, besides the covenant which He made with them in Ḥorĕḇ.
The Hebrew text contain indeed the word “besides”:
(Deu 29:1)  (28:69)  אלהH428  דבריH1697  הבריתH1285  אשׁרH834  צוהH6680  יהוהH3068  אתH853  משׁהH4872  לכרתH3772  אתH854  בניH1121  ישׂראלH3478  בארץH776  מואבH4124  מלבדH905  הבריתH1285  אשׁרH834  כרתH3772  אתםH854  בחרב׃H2722

Besides:Hebrew, milebad
בּד Bad bad (H905)
From H909; properly separation; by implication a part of the body, branch of a tree, bar for carrying; figuratively chief of a city; especially (with prepositional prefix) as adverb, apart, only, besides: - alone, apart, bar, besides, branch, by self, of each alike, except, only, part, staff, strength.
So we could read the verse so:
Deu 29:1 These are the words of the covenant which יהוה commanded Mosheh to make with the children of Yisra’ĕl in the land of Mo’aḇ, besides, (separated from) the covenant which He made with them in Ḥorĕḇ.

This covenant has been long time neglected or misinterpreted, but let us try to look at it. First this covenant comes after the chapter of the curses and Moshe will write it and we will see how serious this covenant is:
First let us read the Moab Covenant:
Deu 29:1  These are the words of the covenant which יהוה commanded Mosheh to make with the children of Yisra’ĕl in the land of Mo’aḇ, besides the covenant which He made with them in Ḥorĕḇ.
Deu 29:2  And Mosheh called all Yisra’ĕl and said to them, “You yourselves saw all that יהוה did before your eyes in the land of Mitsrayim, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land.
Deu 29:3  “Your eyes saw the great trials, the signs, and those great wonders.
Deu 29:4  “But יהוה has not given you a heart to know and eyes to see* and ears to hear, till this day.
*In other words “you were still carnal”.
Deu 29:5  “And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your garments have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet.
Deu 29:6  “You ate no bread and drank no wine nor strong drink, so that you might know that I am יהוה your Elohim.
Deu 29:7  “And when you came to this place, Siḥon sovereign of Ḥeshbon and Oḡ sovereign of Bashan came out against us to battle, and we smote them,
Deu 29:8  and took their land and gave it as an inheritance to the Re’uḇĕnites, and to the Gaḏites, and to half the tribe of Menashsheh.
Deu 29:9  Therefore you shall guard the words of this covenant (Moab Covenant), and do them, so that you prosper in all that you do.
Deu 29:10  “All of you are standing today before יהוה your Elohim: your leaders, your tribes, your elders and your officers, all the men of Yisra’ĕl,
Deu 29:11  your little ones, your wives, and your sojourner who is in the midst of your camp, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water,
Deu 29:12  so that you should enter into covenant with יהוה your Elohim, and into His oath, which יהוה your Elohim makes with you today (at Moab),
Deu 29:13  in order to establish you today as a people for Himself, and He Himself be your Elohim, as He has spoken to you, and as He has sworn to your fathers, to Aḇraham, to Yitsḥaq, and to Yaʽaqoḇ.
Deu 29:14  “And not with you alone I am making this covenant and this oath,
Deu 29:15  but with him who stands here with us today before יהוה our Elohim, as well as with him who is not here with us today*.
*Generations to come, until today.
Deu 29:16  “For you know how we dwelt in the land of Mitsrayim and how we passed through the nations which you passed through,
Deu 29:17  and you saw their abominations and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were with them,
Deu 29:18  lest there should be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe, whose heart turns away today from יהוה our Elohim, to go and serve the mighty ones of these nations, lest there should be among you a root bearing bitterness or wormwood.
Deu 29:19  “And it shall be, when he hears the words of this curse, that he should bless himself in his heart, saying, ‘I have peace though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart,’ in order to add drunkenness to thirst.
Deu 29:20  יהוה would not forgive him, but rather, the displeasure of יהוה and His jealousy shall burn against that man, and every curse that is written in this book (chapter 28) shall settle on him, and יהוה shall blot out his name from under the heavens.
Deu 29:21  “And יהוה shall separate him for evil, out of all the tribes of Yisra’ĕl, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this Book of the Torah.
Deu 29:22  “And the generation to come of your children who rise up after you, and the foreigner who comes from a far land, shall say when they see the plagues of that land and the sicknesses which יהוה has sent into it:
Deu 29:23  ‘All its land is sulphur, salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the overthrow of Seḏom and Amorah, Aḏmah and Tseḇoyim, which יהוה overthrew in His displeasure and His wrath.’
Deu 29:24  “And all nations shall say, ‘Why has יהוה done so to this land? What does the heat of this great displeasure mean?’
Deu 29:25  “And it shall be said, ‘Because they have forsaken the covenant of יהוה Elohim of their fathers*, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim.
*Th Horeb Covenant
Deu 29:26  ‘And they went and served other mighty ones and bowed themselves to them, mighty ones that they did not know and that He had not given to them,
Deu 29:27  therefore the displeasure of יהוה burned against this land, to bring on it every curse that is written in this book.
Deu 29:28  ‘And יהוה uprooted them from their land in displeasure, and in wrath, and in great rage, and cast them into another land, as it is today.’
Deu 29:29 “The secret matters belong to יהוה our Elohim, but what is revealed (Torah) belongs to us and to our children forever, to do all the Words of this Torah.

My commentar: This mean there are “secret” which Yehovah reveal to some people:
Ps 25:14 The secret of יהוה is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Deu 30:1  “And it shall be, when all these words come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you shall bring them back to your heart among all the gentiles (Goyim) where יהוה your Elohim drives you,
Deu 30:2  and shall turn back to יהוה your Elohim and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your being, you and your children,
Deu 30:3  then יהוה your Elohim shall turn back your captivity, and shall have compassion on you, and He shall turn back and gather you from all the peoples where יהוה your Elohim has scattered you.
Deu 30:4  “If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under the heavens, from there יהוה your Elohim does gather you, and from there He does take you.
Deu 30:5  “And יהוה your Elohim shall bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. And He shall do good to you, and increase you more than your fathers.
Deu 30:6  “And יהוה your Elohim shall circumcise your heart and the heart of your seed, to love יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your being, so that you might live,
Deu 30:7  and יהוה your Elohim shall put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you.
Deu 30:8  “And you shall turn back and obey the voice of יהוה and do all His commands which I command you today.
Deu 30:9  “And יהוה your Elohim shall make you have excess in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground for good. For יהוה turns back to rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers,
Deu 30:10  if (v’im/and if) you obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim, to guard His commands and His laws which are written in this Book of the Torah, if you turn back to יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your being.
Deu 30:11  “For this command which I am commanding you today, it is not too hard for you, nor is it far off.
Deu 30:12  “It is not in the heavens, to say, ‘Who shall ascend into the heavens for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it?’
Deu 30:13  “Nor is it beyond the sea, to say, ‘Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, and cause us to hear it, so that we do it?’
Deu 30:14  “For the Word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart – to do it.
Deu 30:15  “See, I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil,
Deu 30:16  in that I am commanding you today to love יהוה your Elohim, to walk in His ways, and to guard His commands, and His laws, and His right-rulings. And you shall live and increase, and יהוה your Elohim shall bless you in the land which you go to possess. (me add: This is the land of Canaan)
Deu 30:17  “But if your heart turns away, and you do not obey, and shall be drawn away, and shall bow down to other mighty ones and serve them,
Deu 30:18  “I have declared to you today that you shall certainly perish, you shall not prolong your days in the land which you are passing over the Yardĕn to enter and possess.
Deu 30:19  I have called the heavens and the earth as witnesses today against you: I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore you shall choose life, so that you live, both you and your seed,
Deu 30:20  to love יהוה your Elohim, to obey His voice, and to cling to Him – for He is your life and the length of your days – to dwell in the land which יהוה swore to your fathers, to Aḇraham, to Yitsḥaq, and to Yaʽaqoḇ, to give them.”
Deu 31:1  And Mosheh went and spoke these words to all Yisra’ĕl,
Deu 31:2  and he said to them, “I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I am no longer able to go out and come in. And יהוה has said to me, ‘You do not pass over this Yardĕn.’
Deu 31:3  יהוה your Elohim Himself is passing over before you. He shall destroy these nations from before you and you possess them. Yehoshua (son of Nun) himself is passing over before you, as יהוה has spoken.
Deu 31:4  “And יהוה shall do to them as He did to Siḥon and to Oḡ, the sovereigns of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed them.
Deu 31:5  “And יהוה shall give them over to you, and you shall do to them according to all the command which I have commanded you.
Deu 31:6  “Be strong and courageous, do not fear nor be afraid of them. For it is יהוה your Elohim who is going with you. He does not fail you nor forsake you.”
Deu 31:7  And Mosheh called Yehoshua (son of Nun) and said to him before the eyes of all Yisra’ĕl, “Be strong and courageous, for you are going with this people to the land which יהוה has sworn to their fathers* to give them, and you are to let them inherit it.
*read :
Gen 15:18 In the same day יהוה made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Gen 15:19 The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
Gen 15:20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
Gen 15:21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

Deu 31:8  “And it is יהוה who is going before you, He Himself is with you. He does not fail you nor forsake you. Do not fear nor be discouraged.”
Deu 31:9  And Mosheh wrote this Torah and gave it to the priests, the sons of Lĕwi, who bore the ark of the covenant of יהוה, and to all the elders of Yisra’ĕl.
Deu 31:10  And Mosheh commanded them, saying, “At the end of seven years, at the appointed time, the year of release, at the Festival of Booths,
Deu 31:11  when all Yisra’ĕl comes to appear before יהוה your Elohim in the place which He chooses, read this Torah before all Yisra’ĕl in their hearing (Moab Covenant).
Deu 31:12  “Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and your sojourner who is within your gates, so that they hear, and so that they learn to fear יהוה your Elohim and guard to do all the Words of this Torah.
Deu 31:13  And their children, who have not known it, should hear and learn to fear יהוה your Elohim as long as you live in the land you are passing over the Yardĕn to possess.”
Deu 31:14  And יהוה said to Mosheh, “See, the days have drawn near for you to die. Call Yehoshua (son of Nun), and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, so that I command him.” And Mosheh and Yehoshua went and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.
Deu 31:15  And יהוה appeared at the Tent in a column of a cloud, and the column of a cloud stood above the door of the Tent.
Deu 31:16  And יהוה said to Mosheh, “See, you are about to sleep with your fathers. And this people shall rise and whore after the mighty ones of the strangers of the land into the midst of which they shall enter, and forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them.
Deu 31:17  “Then My displeasure shall burn against them in that day, and I shall forsake them and hide My face from them, and they shall be consumed. And many evils and distresses shall come upon them, and it shall be said in that day, ‘Is it not because our Elohim is not in our midst that these evils have come upon us?’
Deu 31:18  “And I shall certainly hide My face in that day, because of all the evil which they have done, for they shall turn to other mighty ones.
Deu 31:19  “And now write down this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Yisra’ĕl. Put it in their mouths, so that this song is to Me for a witness against the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Deu 31:20  “And I shall bring them to the land flowing with milk and honey, of which I swore to their fathers, and they shall eat and be satisfied and be fat, then they shall turn to other mighty ones, and they shall serve them, and scorn Me and break My covenant.
Deu 31:21  “And it shall be, when many evils and distresses come upon them, that this song shall answer before them as a witness. For it is not to be forgotten in the mouths of their seed, for I know their thoughts which they are forming today, even before I bring them to the land of which I swore to give them.”
Deu 31:22  And Mosheh wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Yisra’ĕl.
Deu 31:23  And He commanded Yehoshua son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and courageous, for you are to bring the children of Yisra’ĕl into the land of which I swore to them, and I Myself am with you.”
Deu 31:24  And it came to be, when Mosheh had completed writing the Words of this Torah in a book, until their completion,
Deu 31:25  that Mosheh commanded the Lĕwites, who bore the ark of the covenant of יהוה, saying,
Deu 31:26  Take this Book of the Torah (Moab covenant), and you shall place it beside* the ark of the covenant of יהוה your Elohim, and it shall be there as a witness against you,
Deu 31:27  for I myself know your rebellion and your stiff neck. See, while I am still alive with you today, you have been rebellious against יהוה, then how much more after my death?
Deu 31:28  “Assemble unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, so that I speak these words in their hearing and call the heavens and the earth to witness against them.
Deu 31:29  “For I know that after my death you shall do very corruptly and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you. And evil shall come to you in the latter days, because you do what is evil in the eyes of יהוה, to provoke Him through the work of your hands.”
Deu 31:30  So Mosheh spoke in the hearing of all the assembly of Yisra’ĕl the words of this song till their completion:

I hope you have read the all covenant which goes over three chapters? Enough to be take into consideration.

Verse 26, the Hebrew word for “beside” is:
H6654
צד Tsad tsad
Contracted from an unused root meaning to sidle off; a side; figuratively an adversary: - (be-) side.
It is clear from context that this is a second Covenant beside the first made in Horeb in the desert from Sinai.
The first was made in the beginning of the walk of the Children of Ysrael, the second just before Moshe’s death and the entering in the land of Canaan. Here let us compare some few  verses:

Lev 26:40  ‘But if they confess their crookedness and the crookedness of their fathers, with their trespass in which they trespassed against Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me,
Lev 26:41  and that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of their enemies – if their uncircumcised heart is then humbled, and they accept the punishment of their crookedness,
Lev 26:42  then I shall remember My covenant with Yaʽaqoḇ, and also My covenant with Yitsḥaq, and also remember My covenant with Aḇraham, and remember the land.
Lev 26:43  ‘For the land was abandoned by them, and enjoying its Sabbaths while lying waste without them, and they were paying for their crookedness, because they rejected My right-rulings and because their being loathed My laws.
Lev 26:44  ‘And yet for all this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I shall not reject them, nor shall I loathe them so as to destroy them and break My covenant with them. For I am יהוה their Elohim.
Lev 26:45  ‘Then I shall remember for their sake the covenant of the ancestors whom I brought out of the land of Mitsrayim before the eyes of the nations to be their Elohim. I am יהוה.’ ”

In Vayiqra (Leveticus) it was specific to Yehudah for their exiles in Babylon; the second in Moab is for all Ysrael:
In Sh’mot 20, Yehovah command to “remenber” the Shabbat, while in d’varim (Deut.) Yehovah says “to keep”!
Exod 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Strong’s H8104 שָׁמַר shamar (shaw-mar') v.

2. (generally) to protect, attend to, etc

To hedge about as with thorns! This is what the shepherds do when they kept the flock outside during the night, they hedge the flock with thorns to protect it from predators.

Yehovah knew that the Shabbat will become a problem in later days, because he says the Yehudah will forget the Shabbat and the feast!
Lam 2:5 יהוה was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
Lam 2:6 And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: יהוה hath caused the solemn feasts and Sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

e.  (Hithpael) to be forgotten
Some people are angry at me when it comes to the « Saturday shabbat », and I point to them that it is not Yehovah original shabbat ! Fact is that today majority of Jews and many others messianic and Torah keepers keep the Shabbat from Hillel II. This Shabbat actually is Roman Gregorian compliant, save that they count the New Moon, here again from the first crescent which came from the Babylonian captivity, and then turn to the “Saturday Shabbat”, which is not the one Yehovah gave to Adam.

This is not only Yehudah, Yehovah told also that Ephraim, the House of Ysrael will go similar way and not only “forget” the Shabbats and the feats, but also the New Moon, because Yehovah himself will cause them to cease (stop) to Ephraim when they will be in exile.
Hos 2:10 “And now I shall uncover her shame before the eyes of her lovers, and no one shall deliver her from My hand.
Hos 2:11  “And I (Yehovah) shall cause all her rejoicing, her festivals (moedim), her New Moons (Chodesh), and her Sabbaths, even all her appointed times (Chag), to cease*,

Hos 2:12  and lay waste her vines and her fig trees, of which she has said, ‘these are my rewards that my lovers have given me.’ And I shall make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
Hos 2:13  “And I shall punish her for the days of the Baʽals to which she burned incense and adorned herself with her rings and jewelry, and went after her lovers, and forgot Me,” declares יהוה.

·       Irony, the word for “cease” in the Hebrew text is:
Cease: - Original: שׁבת (BDB)
- Transliteration: Shabath
- Phonetic: shaw-bath'
- Definition:
1.  to cease, desist, rest
a.  (Qal)
1.  to cease
2.  to rest, desist (from labour)
b.  (Niphal) to cease
c.  (Hiphil)
1.  to cause to cease, put an end to
2.  to exterminate, destroy
3.  to cause to desist from
4.  to remove
5.  to cause to fail

This happened in 721 BC when Ephraim was scattered among the nations!

Now I will return to the Moab Covenant. The context is that this Covenant is given to the children of Ysrael at Moshe’s death and just before entering the Land of Canaan, under the leadership of Yehoshua son of Nun.
The Moab covenant is a dual covenant with “blessing and curse”, the Horeb (Sinai) Covenant is different:
Horeb Covenant:
Exod 19:3 And Moses went up unto Elohim, and יהוה called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
Exod 19:4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
Exod 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
Exod 19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
Exod 19:7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which יהוה commanded him.
Exod 19:8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that יהוה hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto יהוה.

The Children of Ysrael bound themselves to Yehovah once !
Exod 24:3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of יהוה, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which יהוה hath said will we do.
The Children of Ysrael bound themselves to Yehovah a second time !
Exod 24:6 And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.
Exod 24:7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that יהוה hath said will we do, and be obedient.

For a third time the Children of Ysrael bound themselves to Yehovah !
This covenant is not a dual covenant unlike the Moab, it was the Children of Ysrael who willingly bound themselves to Yehovah.
The Moab Covenant is conditional and everyone who breaks it will bear the consequences, this is one of the reasons Mashiach came!
Here we have a shadow of things to come with the second advent of Mashiach Yehoshua. This is exactly the same situation:
This is not the end of Moshe’s saying:
For יהוה turns back to rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers,
Deu 30:10  if you obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim, to guard His commands and His laws which are written in this Book of the Torah, if you turn back to יהוה your Elohim with all your heart and with all your being.
Deu 30:19  “I have called the heavens and the earth as witnesses today against you: I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse.

Yehovah give us the conditions to bring the Children of Ysrael back to the Land He gave to Abraham, Itzahk and Ya’acov (chapter 31: v 1-20). This promise will be fulfilled IN the Land of Canaan:
Mat 24:21  “For then there shall be great distress (tribulation), such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. Mat 24:22  “And if those days were not shortened, no flesh would be saved, but for the sake of the chosen ones those days shall be shortened……………………….
Mat 24:29 “And immediately after the distress (tribulations) of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
Mat 24:30 “And then the sign of the Son of Aḏam shall appear in the heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they shall see the Son of Aḏam coming on the clouds of the heaven with power and much esteem.
Mat 24:31 “And He shall send His messengers with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

After the tribulations of those days! (Not before!)
Deut 30:4 If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will יהוה thy Elohim gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:

Isa 27:12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that יהוה shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.
Isa 27:13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great Shofar shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship יהוה in the holy mount at Jerusalem.

1Thess 4:16 For Yehoshua himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump (Shofar) of יהוה: and the dead in the Messiah shall rise first:
1Thess 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Master in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Master.
Dan 7:12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
Dan 7:13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
Dan 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

The Moab Covenant is a covenant of blessing andcurses!
Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

The « curse » for the many who are of the works of the law, fall on those who followed the « Oral Torah » of the Pharisee which put people under bondage, departing from the Torah of Moshe. I know many will accuse me to speak against the “Jews”. Why? I may be a Yehudi myself!

Yehoshua has deliverd us from the “curse of the Oral law of the Pharisee” by turning us back to the truth, the Torah of life:
Gal 3:13 The Messiah hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Yehoshua came to bring back the Children of Ysrael to the Torah of liberty proclaimed by Ya’acov, the Torah of Moshe:
Jas 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed (opposite to curse) in his deed.
I have read from some that today in the exile those who do not keep the shemitah (rest of the Land) are under curse?
True is that Yehoshua set us free from the “curse of the law”. We have seen that the curse is by turning away from Yehovah commandments to follow man-made commandments (traditions).
Are we really under curse if we don’t keep the shemitah or Yovel year as some pretend?

Lev 25:1 And יהוה spake unto Moses in mount Sinai, saying,
Lev 25:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a Sabbath unto יהוה.
Where does the land keep a shabbat unto YHWH ?
Lev 25:3 Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof;
Lev 25:4 But in the seventh year shall be a Sabbath of rest unto the land, a Sabbath for יהוה: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.
Lev 25:5 That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.
Lev 25:6 And the Sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee,
Lev 25:7 And for thy cattle, and for the beast that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be meat.
Lev 25:8 And thou shalt number seven Sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven Sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.
Lev 25:9 Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
Lev 25:10 And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land (me add : the Land of Canaan) unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
Lev 25:11 A jubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of thy vine undressed.
Lev 25:12 For it is the jubile; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
Lev 25:13 In the year of this jubile ye shall return every man unto his possession.

It is clear that the shemitah ( the rest of the land) and the Yovel are directly bound to the Land of Canaan, and not the world. Time will come when the all world will keep the shemitah, but not before Mashiach comes back to establish Yehovah’s Kingdom.

Yehoshua, the Word made flesh bring us back to the Torah of liberty and thus make us free from the Moab Covenat, having removed the curse witch was upon us for disobedience to the Torah! Mashiach Yehoshua bring us back to the Horeb Covenant:

1Pet 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1Pet 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of יהוה: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Kefa/Peter quote Sh’mot/Exodus 19:5 and Hoshea 1:9-10
Conclusion:
Hos 2:23 And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my Elohim.

May Yehovah bless you and keep you ! Shalom mishpochah.
