Parsha Va’etchanan – I Sought

D’varim 3:23-7:11,
YeshaYahu 40:1-26, Mark 12:28-34

This “Parasha” goes on with Mosheh speaking to the children of Israel, before he dies. Remember it is the last month (D’varim 1:3). We saw in the last parasha that Moshe spoke to the generations who were not born in Egypt or under 20 years old at the time they left Mitzrayim (Egypt).
It seems good to Elohim to bring all the Torah into remembrance; we see that יהוה is long suffering with his people. This “parasha” is also a promises from יהוה to His people to be with them if they keep the Torah.
We should also have in mind that these words are also for us today. To keep the Torah today is to stay under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1). Unfortunately, Christian tradition, coming from the teaching of the “mother of harlots”, the Roman Catholic Church has rejected the Torah, by making a “saviour” who does not consider the Torah to be kept. This is the great delusion written by Sha’ul to the Thessalonians (2nd Tessal. 2:3-12).
Today in the year 2011, יהוה has already started to call his people out of the world system, to return to the Torah and walk in the truth. Everyday in the four corners of the earth people open their eyes to the truth (Psalm 119:142, 151,160)...
Before we start I want us to see the duality of the scriptures between the p'shat (litteral) and the sod (secret, mystery). The wording of the text reveals what Moshe is speaking as a prophet. We are now in the last month of the last year of the forty years. If you remember I explained in another parasha how the forty years in the wilderness are a microcosm  of the 2000 years between the first advent of Yeshua HaMoschiach and his second advent to establish the Kingdom of the Father. (40 (years in the wilderness)  x  50 (length of one Yovel 7 x7 years=50) = 2000.
Now the wording  tells us something which brings the Torah alive in us: Moshe was not able to enter the Promise Land and YHWH told him to chose Yehoshua a shadow of the Moschiach to come, to enter the Promise Land.
Deu 3:28  But charge Jehoshua (son of Nun), and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he (Yehoshua) shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.
Now let us try to read in the sod following verses:
Deu 5:2  YHWH our Elohim made a covenant with us (our forefathers) in Horeb.
Deu 5:3  YHWH made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us (believers today), even us, who are all of us here alive this day (2011).
Can you see? It was now forty years (2000 years) all those who left Egypt (Mitzrayim) died in the wilderness because of their UNBELIEF, save Caleb son of Yepuneth and Yehoshua son of Nun. Where are our forefathers, are they not dead in the wilderness since two thousand years?
Is it enough to belief "Jesus" and reject the Torah ? Do you think that YHWH is a respecter of person? How do we prove that we believe YHWH? Is it not by keeping His commandments (1 Yochanan 2:3-6)
The entrance into the Promise Land is done with the LAST GENERATION at Moshe's death?
Are we not the last generation, are we not those waiting for the soon coming of Moschiach Yehoshua, to bring us into the Promise Land?
Why is it so? Moshe gives the answer:
Deu 7:7  YHWH did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
Deu 7:8  But because YHWH loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath YHWH brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
What is the promise and to whom did Elohim made a promise?
Gen 15:8  And he said, SoverignYHWH, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?
Gen 15:9  And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
Gen 15:10  And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
Gen 15:11  And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
Gen 15:12  And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
Gen 15:13  And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
Gen 15:14  And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
Gen 15:15  And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
Gen 15:16  But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full.
Gen 15:17  And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces (animals cut in two parts).
Gen 15:18  In the same day YHWH made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Gen 15:19  The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
Gen 15:20  and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
Gen 15:21  and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
Yehovah will accomplish what He promised to our forefather Abram, confirmed to Itzahk and Ya'acov.
I will show you what beautiful things YHWH embed in His Word.
Yehoshua son of Nun. The name of Yehoshua's father is "Nun".
Nun: Strong's #H5126 נוּןnû noon,
From H5125; perpetuity; Nun or Non, the father of Yehoshua: - Non, Nun.
H5125  A primitive root; to resprout, that is, propagate by shoots (generation); figuratively, to be perpetual: - be continued.
Is it not beautiful, we could say: Yehoshua the SOn of Perpetuity who RESPROUT !
Is it not here an allegory to our Master Yehoshua Son of Elohim (PERPETUAL) the sprout of Jessie (Father of Dawid)?
Chapter 3:23-29. Moshe recall his plead to יהוה to enter, to go over to see the promise Land. יהוה was wroth with him and told him to charge Yehoshua (son of Nun) and to encourage him, because he was chosen from יהוה to lead the children of Israel after Moshe’s departure.
This question remains, why יהוה doesn’t change His mind and let Moshe enter the promise Land? The Answer lies in the duality of the Torah. First we have the literal text and the account of the deliverance or our forefathers, which was an event taking place in Moshe’s time. Secondly and this is very important for us to understand, that the physical deliverance of our forefathers is the picture of our spiritual deliverance and show us what is going on with our inner man. All their struggles are images of our own spiritual life. Our carnal man is under the influence of the world and Sha’ul explains how to overcome:
Gal 5:16 and I say: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not accomplish the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:17 for the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, and these are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you desire to do.
In these verses we see the duality between the carnal nature and the inner man. Sha’ul explains very well why it is so. It has been for a long time overseen. Many books have been written concerning the Torah and the condition of the Torah under the renewed covenant. Many believers are still struggling to read the weekly “Parasha” because they don’t understand why it is so important. They love the truth and follow many of the commandments, but lack the efficiency of the Torah in their life for a simple reason.
I am going to show that if we understand why we should read the Torah, we will have a new start in our life.
Sha’ul speaks to the Corinthians believers and explains concerning the resurrection of our Master יהושע. Let’s have a look at it.
1Co 15:22 For as all die in Aḏam, so also all shall be made alive in Messiah....I will not take it out of context I just want to make it easy to understand what was going on in this chapter. Sha’ul was speaking to the believers in Corinth, because some believed that there is no resurrection. Sha’ul continues his “midrash” (teaching) to explain the difference between the first Adam (mankind) and the last Adam (Messiah יהושע).
Sha’ul goes on speaking about the different bodies and comes to the point to make the difference between the first Adam and the last Adam.
1Co 15:45 and so it has been written, “The first man Aḏam became a living being (natural man),” the last Aḏam a life-giving Spirit (spiritual man). .....1Co 15:46 the spiritual, however, was not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. ....1Co 15:47 the first man (Adam) was of the earth, earthy; the second Man (Yehoshua) is the Master from heaven. 1Co 15:48 as is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. ....1Co 15:49 and as we have borne the likeness of the earthy (first Adam), we shall also bear the likeness of the heavenly (Moschiach Yehoshua). 1Co 15:50 and this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood is unable to inherit the reign (Kingdom) of Elohim, neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
Verse 45, Sha’ul explains the difference between the first Adam from Gan Eden and the Last Adam, יהושע Messiah. Verse 46 he goes on explaining that the natural was first. 47, the first man (Adam) was of the earth and the last Adam was a life-giving ruach (spirit).
We must not overlook the word “last Adam”. Here the Greek word is “eschatos” meaning: “final”, “uttermost”, in other words, that after him there will be no other, can you see what Sha’ul is saying? יהושע is the final, last, uttermost part of the creation, hidden from the creation of the world, but reveal in the last days.
Now how do we connect that with our forefathers?
When the Ruach HaQodesh (Set Apart Spirit) was given to the talmidin (disciples)? It was at Shavuot / Pentecost: not before. This means that before this time, people were living under the conditions of the first Adam and so it was with Myriam the mother of יהושע:
Gal 4:4 but when the fullness of the time was come, YHWH sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made (born) under the law,
She also was righteous according to the righteousness of the Torah if you will she was under the righteousness of the obedience of the “flesh”, the carnal nature, obedient to the Torah….
Our forefathers were carnal, not spiritual, except man like Abraham called “the father of faith/Trust” Isaac, Ya’acov, Yoseph and others (Noah, Enoch…) Moshe was called by יהוה and the Ruach of יהוה was upon him but didn’t dwell in him. This is why he failed when he stroke the rock the second time, his carnal nature dominate his action....Abraham, Itzahk, Ya’acov, Moshe, David and many others were types and ante-types of what will be later with those who will follow יהושע.
Today when reading the Torah we should always have in mind that we see our carnal man in the account of our forefathers, especially those coming out of Mitzrayim (Egypt).
I hope this will help to understand. You see when we dig a bit we see more then the plain text, called in Hebrew understanding the “peshat”, the literal text.
Chapter 3:25I pray, let me pass over and see the good land beyond the Yardĕn, this good hill country, and Leḇanon.’
Let me pass over: Strong’s #H5674 עבר ‛âbar aw-bar'.A primitive root; to cross over; used very widely of any transition (literally or figuratively; transitively, intransitively, intensively or causatively); specifically to cover (in copulation): - alienate, alter, X at all, beyond, bring (over, through), carry over, (over-) come (on, over), conduct (over), convey over, current, deliver, do away, enter, escape, fail, gender, get over, (make) go (away, beyond, by, forth, his way, in, on, over, through), have away (more), lay, meddle, overrun, make partition, (cause to, give, make to, over) pass (-age, along, away, beyond, by, -enger, on, out, over, through), (cause to, make) + proclaim (-amation), perish, provoke to anger, put away, rage, + raiser of taxes, remove, send over, set apart, + shave, cause to (make) sound, X speedily, X sweet smelling, take (away), (make to) transgress (-or), translate, turn away, [way-] faring man, be wrath.
We have here again the dual explanation. The first is the “peshat” or literal sense, to cross over Yarden in order to enter the promise land.
The second level is the so called “remez” of hint behind the literal going up to the drash (midrash or teaching) and the “sod”, the mystery of the Torah. Remember יהוה call the land, “the land that flow with milk and honey”. Milk and honey are an allegory for the Torah:
Psa 81:16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
Psa 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
In following verse we can see the connection between honey and the Torah:
Pro 24:13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:Pro 24:14 so shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
Rev 10:10 and I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
Jer 32:22 and hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
Milk a metaphor for the nourishing of the soul by the Torah.
Honey a metaphor for the sweetness brought by the Torah.
1Co 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of YHWH; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. Heb 5:13 for every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
1Pe 2:2 as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: Also to go over or cross over is to change position. In the natural it is physically, but it points also to Messiah who brings us into the promise land, the Kingdom (Malkut) of Elohim The condition for the children of Israel to enter the Promise Land was to keep the commandments and TRUST יהוה that He will bring them there.
The condition for “talmidin” (disciples) today to enter the Kingdom of Elohim is to believe and TRUST יהושע and accept the Yoke of the Torah.
No Torah equals no Kingdom! How do we know that?
Matt.7:22 “Many shall say to Me in that day, ‘Master, Master, have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and done many mighty works in Your Name?’ .....Mat 7:23 “And then I shall declare to them, ‘I never knew you, depart from Me, you who work lawlessness!’
Lawlesness:Srong’s #458 : anomia an-om-ee'-ah
From G459; illegality, that is, violation of law or (generally) wickedness: - iniquity, X transgress (-ion of) the law, unrighteousness.........G459 anomos, an'-om-os...........From G1 (as a negative particle) and G3551; lawless, that is, (negatively) not subject to law; (by implication a Gentile), or (positively) wicked: - without law, lawless, transgressor, unlawful, wicked.
We see that lawlessness is the rejection of the Torah: “not subject to the law”.
There are many denominations in the world today they all proclaim to have the truth and to build the Kingdom of G-d. They all have a common factor that holds them to the Roman Catholic Church “the mother of harlots”. They ALL reject the Torah!

The Ruach (Spirit) is drawing more and more people to keep the Torah and to comfort them in their walk in order to enter the “Malkut”, the Kingdom of Elohim.
Deu 3:25I pray, let me pass over and see the good land beyond the Yardĕn, this good hill country, and Leḇanon.’ .............Deu 3:26 “But יהוה was enraged with me, for your sake, and would not listen to me, and יהוה said to me, ‘Enough of that speak no more to Me about this matter!’
“Enough of that speak no more to me about this matter!” Schulz a commentator make following comparison with Sha’ul:
2Co 12:8 Concerning this I pleaded with Elohim three times to take it away from me. 2Co 12:9 And He said to me, “My favour is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, then, I shall rather boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Messiah rests on me.
We can see the changeless character of יהוה
Deu 3:27 ‘Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift up your eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and look with your eyes, for you do not pass over this Yardĕn. Pisgah: The place where Balaam was with the Moabite King Balak to curse the Children of Israel (carnal man):
Num 23:13 and Balaq said to him, “Please come with me to another place from where you see them. You only see the extremity but not all of them. Curse them for me from there.” Num 23:14 and he took him to the field of Tsophim, to the top of Pisgah……………
It is there that Balaam spoke:
Num 23:19 Ěl is not a man, to lie; nor a son of man, to repent! Has He said, and would He not do it; or spoken, and would not confirm it? Num 23:20 See, I have received, to bless. And He has blessed, and I do not reverse it.
Num 23:21 He has not looked upon wickedness in Yaʽaqoḇ, nor has He seen trouble in Yisra’ĕl. יהוה his Elohim is with him, and the shout of a Sovereign is in him. Num 23:22 “Ěl who brought them out of Mitsrayim, is for them like the horns of a wild ox. Num 23:23 For there is no sorcery against Yaʽaqoḇ, nor is there any divination against Yisra’ĕl. Now it is said to Yaʽaqoḇ and to Yisra’ĕl, ‘What has Ěl done!’
Num 23:24 Look, a people rises like a lioness, and lifts itself up like a lion; it lies not down until it devours the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain.” Num 23:25 and Balaq said to Bilʽam, “Do not curse them at all, nor bless them at all!” Num 23:26 and Bilʽam answered and said to Balaq, “Have I not spoken to you, saying, ‘All that יהוה speaks, that I do’?” Num 23:27 and Balaq said to Bilʽam, “Please come, let me take you to another place. It might be right in the eyes of Elohim that you curse them for me from there.”
The other place was “Baal Peor” or “Beyth Peor”Deu 3:29 “And we dwelt in the valley opposite Bĕyth Peʽor.
Beith-Peor is the place where Balaam was with the King of Moab Balak to curse the Children of Israel:
Num 23:28 and Balaq took Bilʽam to the top of Peʽor, that overlooks the wasteland. Beith-Peor, the House of Peor or “Head of Peor” also Baal Peor: Peor was a pagan deity worshiped by the Moabites and others tribes.
Closing the chapter three, I would like to point out again the difference between Mosheh and יהושע. Have you ever asked yourselves how is it that Moshe couldn’t enter the promise land and died before it has been a guess to me many years?
Another thought brought by my wife Chanah is to see that like Moshe died before the Children of Israel could enter the Promise Land, so יהושע also died at his first coming and couldn’t bring the Children of Israel (you and me) into the Kingdom until the appointed time.
The answer is not obvious, rather lies in the difference between Mosheh and יהושע. The first, Mosheh was chosen of יהוה Elohim to deliver the Children of Israel (carnal man) from their physical bondage, Mitzrayim (Egypt).
The second יהושע was chosen of יהוה Elohim to deliver the spiritual man from the bondage of sin, transgression of the Torah (1st Yochanan 3:4).
The reverse of Messiah’s work is to bring now the spiritual man to maturity having abolished the death penalty which was again us and nailed it to the stake, in order to deliver us from the power of sin:
Col 2:13 and you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him (Messiah), having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Moshe was also carnal and reacted in carnal manner:
The apostle were well acquainted with the time of restoration still to come:
Act 3:19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of YHWH;

Num 20:7 and יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, Num 20:8 “Take the rod and assemble the congregation, you and your brother Aharon. And you shall speak to the rock before their eyes, and it shall give its water. and you shall bring water for them out of the rock and give drink to the congregation and their livestock.”
Num 20:9 and Mosheh took the rod from before יהוה as He commanded him. Num 20:10 and Mosheh and Aharon assembled the assembly before the rock. And he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels, shall we bring water for you out of this rock?” Num 20:11 Then Mosheh lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod. And much water came out, and the congregation and their livestock drank. Num 20:12 But יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, “Because you did not believe Me (had no faith), to set Me apart in the eyes of the children of Yisra’ĕl, therefore you do not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.” We have here the reason why Aharon and Mosheh couldn’t enter the promise land: “you did not believe me to set me apart in the eyes of the Children of Israel (Carnal man). What is the difference in יהושע’s behavior?
Mat 26:40 and He (Yehoshua) came to the taught ones (disciples) and found them asleep, and said to Kĕpha, “So, were you not able to watch with Me one hour? Mat 26:41 “Watch and pray, lest you enter into trial. The spirit indeed is eager, but the flesh is weak.”Mat 26:42 again He went away, a second time, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is impossible for this to pass unless I drink it, let your will be done.” יהושע surrender his life fully to יהוה and his flesh was already “crucified”! He was the saviour of the spiritual man, the one who deliver us from the fleshly (carnal) nature.
1Pe 2:21 for to this you were called, because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps,1 Footnote: 11 Cor. 11:1, 1 John 2:6. 1Pe 2:22who committed no sin,1 nor was deceit found in His mouth,”2 Footnotes: 1John 8:55, John 15:10, 2 Cor. 5:21, John 3:5. 2Isa.53:9. 1Pe 2:23 who, being reviled, did not revile in return; suffering, did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;
Php 2:6 who, being in the form (that is shape or nature) of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a matter to be grasped,
Php 2:7 but emptied Himself, taking the form (that is shape or nature) of a servant, and came to be in the likeness of men. Php 2:8 and having been found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake.
Php 2:9 Elohim, therefore(because of that), has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name, Php 2:10 that at the Name of יהוה every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, (Yeshayahu 45:23)
Php 2:11 and every tongue should confess that יהושע Messiah is Master, to the esteem (glory) of Elohim the Father.
The reason of been, exulted, was because יהושע humbled himself and was obedient even unto death. It was not before his death that יהושע was proclaimed to be Messiah (even if few of his talmidim recognize him to be Moschiach), he was chosen of יהוה but the position was given him at the resurrection of the death (Phil.2:9).
Rom 1:4 who was designated Son of Elohim with power, according to the Set-apart Spirit, by the resurrection from the dead: יהושע Messiah, the Master of us,
Act 13:33 that Elohim has filled this for us, their children, having raise up יהושע, as it has also been written in the second Psalm, ‘You are My Son, today I have brought You forth.’ We see that Luke and Sha’ul had the same understanding as when יהושע received the “son ship”: “At the resurrection from the dead”. This may disturb those who believe that יהושע is the “creator”, but they are many scriptures who show the process of יהושע becoming “son”!
Act 13:22 “And having removed him, He raised up for them Dawiḏ as sovereign, to whom also He gave witness and said, ‘I have found Dawiḏ the son of Yishai, a man after My own heart, who shall do all My desires.’ Act 13:23 “From this one’s seed (sperma), according to the promise, Elohim raised up for Yisra’ĕl a Saviour, יהושע,
Messiah is not a name but a title a position let us have a close look according to the “International Standard Bible Encyclopedia”1. Meaning and Use of the Term:
“Messias” (Joh_1:41; Joh_4:25 the King James Version) is a transcription of Μεσσίας, Messı́as, the Greek representation of the Aramaic. “Messiah” is thus a modification of the Greek form of the word, according to the Hebrew...The term is used in the Old Testament of kings and priests, who were consecrated to office by the ceremony of anointing. It is applied to the priest only as an adjective - “the anointed (moschyiach/messiah) priest” (Lev_4:3, Lev_4:5, Lev_4:16; Lev_6:22 (Hebrew 15)). Its substantive use is restricted to the king; he only is called “YHWH's anointed (maschyiach/messiah),” e.g. Saul (1Sa_24:6, 1Sa_24:10 (Hebrew 7, 11), etc.); David (2Sa_19:21 (Hebrew 22); 2Sa_23:1, “the anointed of the God of Jacob”); Zedekiah (Lam_4:20). Similarly in the Psalms the king is designated “mine,” “thine,” “his anointed (maschyiach/messiah).” Thus also even Cyrus* (Isa_45:1), as being chosen and commissioned by Yehowah to carry out His purpose with Israel. Some think the singular “mine anointed” in Hab_3:13 denotes the whole people; but the Hebrew text is somewhat obscure, and the reference may be to the king. The plural of the substantive is used of the patriarchs, who are called “mine anointed ones” (Psa_105:15; 1Ch_16:22), as being Yehowah's chosen, consecrated servants, whose persons were inviolable....It is to be noted that “Messiah” as a special title is never applied in the Old Testament to the unique king of the future, unless perhaps in Dan_9:25 f (māshı̄a nāghı̄dh, “Messiah-Prince”), a difficult passage, the interpretation of which is very uncertain. It was the later Jews of the post-prophetic period who, guided by a true instinct, first used the term in a technical sense.
*Cyrus a pagan King chosen to be “messiah” anointed of Elohim:
Cyrus (Heb. Koresh), the celebrated “King of Persia” (Elam) who was conqueror of Babylon, and issued the decree of liberation to the Jews (Ezr_1:1, Ezr_1:2). He was the son of Cambyses, the prince of Persia, and was born about 599 B.C. In the year 559 B.C. he became king of Persia, the kingdom of Media being added to it partly by conquest. Cyrus was a great military leader, bent on universal conquest. Babylon fell before his army (538 B.C.) on the night of Belshazzar's feast (Dan_5:30), and then the ancient dominion of Assyria was also added to his empire (cf., “Go up, O Elam” - Isa_21:2)....Hitherto the great kings of the earth had only oppressed the Jews. Cyrus was to them as a “shepherd” (Isa_44:28; Isa_45:1). God employed him in doing service to his ancient people. He may possibly have gained, through contact with the Jews, some knowledge of their religion.
So we can see that the term “messiah”(Moschiach) and its derivatives are not only for Yehoshua, who was The Messiah, chosen to be called “Son of Elohim” by the resurrection from the dead!
Conclusion: There was many “messiah” before יהושע, but none of them were declared “Son of Elohim”!
Chapter 4
Deu 4:1  “And now, O Yisra’ĕl, listen (shema) to the laws (choquim) and the right-rulings (mishpatim) which I am teaching you to do, so that you live, and shall go in and possess the land which יהוה Elohim of your fathers is giving you.
The first verse uses the word “listen” which in English has not the same meaning as the Hebrew word.
 Listen: Strong’s # H8055 שׁמע shâma‛shaw-mah'.
A primitive root; to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively to tell, etc.): -  X attentively, call (gather) together, X carefully, X certainly, consent, consider, be content, declare, X diligently, discern, give ear, (cause to, let, make to) hear (-ken, tell), X indeed, listen, make (a) noise, (be) obedient, obey, perceive, (make a) proclaim (-ation), publish, regard, report, shew (forth), (make a) sound, X surely, tell, understand, whosoever [heareth], witness.
The “Sh’ma”’ is an important daily prayer among the Yehudin (Jews) even today which is proclaim during the morning and evening prayer contained in D’varim 6:4-9.
We see that “sh’ma” contain the obligation to “hear” and to “do”.
Ya’acov the brother of our master יהושע brings it to the point:
Jas 1:21 Therefore put away all filthiness and overflow of evil, and receive with meekness the implanted Word,1 which is able to save your lives. Footnote: 1See Mt. 13:4-23...Jas 1:22 And become doers of the Word, and not hearers only,1 deceiving yourselves (by only hearing). Footnote: 1See Mt. 7:24-27, Lk. 6:46-49, Lk. 8:21, Rom. 2:13, Heb. 4:11, Rev. 22:14.
Jas 1:23 Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror, Jas 1:24 for he looks at himself and goes away, and immediately forgets what he was like.
Jas 1:25 But he that looked into the perfect Torah, that of freedom, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this one shall be blessed in his doing of the Torah...
It is very sad to see today the stubbornness of millions of people among Christianity who prefer to follow the traditions of man then the truth.
I don’t condemn people, I make clear that we must turn back to the Torah (to make "shuv"turn back to the right way) and follow יהושע in order to be counted as “talmidin” (disciples) of Messiah.
In the verse one, Moshe says that by hearing and keeping the statutes and the judgments, they will live! Let us look if this teaching is different from יהושע’s teaching:---
Mat 19:17 And He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One – Elohim. But if you wish to enter into life, guard* the commands.”1 Footnote:1See Lk. 10:28, John 12:50, Rev. 22:14.
* Guard: In Hebrew, the word for "guard" is "shamar", meaning to hedge around in order to protect, like the shepherd set a hedge of thorn around his flock during the night to protect them from predators. We are commanded to PROTECT the commandments from thos predators outside who come and tell us that the Torah is done away!
Rev 22:14 “Blessed are those1 doing His commands,2 so that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of life, and to enter through the gates into the city... Footnotes: 1See Mt. 19:17. 2Long before the books were compiled to form “The New Testament,” Rev. 22:14 was quoted, as it is here given, by Tertullian (CE 208), and by Cyprian (CE 251) – see the well-known Antenicene Fathers.
Verse 2 Do not add to the Word which I command you, and do not take away from it1, so as to guard the commands of יהוה your Elohim which I am commanding you. Footnote: 1See also 12:32, Prov. 30:6, Rev. 22:18-19
Compare with:
Rev 22:18 for I witness to everyone hearing the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, Elohim shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book, Rev 22:19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, Elohim shall take away his part from the Book of Life, and out of the set-apart city, which are written in this Book. Moshes continues to admonish the children of Israel, telling them that what he did was not on his own but came from יהוה his Elohim. Does it sound familiar to you? Let see what יהושע says:
Deu 4:5 “See, I have taught you laws and right-rulings, as יהוה my Elohim commanded me, to do thus in the land which you go to possess
Does it sound familiar to you? Let see what יהושע says:
Joh 12:49 “Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father who sent Me has given Me a command,1 what I should say and what I should speak. Footnote: 1See 7:16
Joh 12:50 “And I know that His command is everlasting life.1 Therefore, whatever I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.” Joh 7:16 יהושע answered them and said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me…
We see the harmony between Moshe and יהושע’s teaching.
Deu 4:6 “And you shall guard and do them, for this is your wisdom and your understanding before the eyes of the peoples who hear all these laws, and they shall say, ‘Only a wise and understanding people is this great nation!’Deu 4:7 “For what great nation is there which has Elohim so near to it, as יהוה our Elohim is to us, whenever we call on Him?
Deu 4:8 “And what great nation is there that has such laws(choquim) and righteous right-rulings(mishpatim) like all this Torah which I set before you this day? Deu 4:9 “Only, guard (shamar) yourself, and guard (shamar)your life diligently, lest you forget the Words your eyes have seen, and lest they turn aside from your heart all the days of your life. And you shall make them known to your children and your grandchildren. …It is amazing that today all around the world we see that each country has his own laws and statutes. No man dares to break the laws and so to undergo the penalty for it. Why then is it so that people who proclaim to love G-d reject vehemently the Torah?
2Co 4:4 in whom the mighty one of this age1(HaSatan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so that the enlightening of the Good News of the esteem (glory) of Messiah, who is the likeness of Elohim, does not shine on them.
May be you will think, I take this verse out of context? Just read what Yochanan writes:
1Jn 2:15 Do not love the world nor that which is in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.1Jn 2:16 Because all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world. 1Jn 2:17 and the world passes away, and the lust of it, but the one doing the desire of Elohim remains forever.
This chapter is not only to remind the children of Israel what they should do, but also it is a prophecy, about what will befall them after the departure of Moshe.
Indeed the children of Israel will walk in the commandments until the death of Yehushua son of Nun.
One of the central points is that doing the commandments are part of entering eternal life. Christianity tells people that to keep the Torah is “legalism” and bondage that you are cursed if you want to keep the commandments. The Torah teaches the opposite!
Mat 19:16  and, behold, one came and said unto him (Yehoshua), Good Rabbi, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17  and he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, Elohim: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Verse 13. Deu 4:13 “And He made known to you His covenant which He commanded you to do, the Ten Words, and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.
We see here clearly the ten commands are the covenant (brit in Hebrew). All others commands (mitzvoth) hang on this ten.
Verses14-19
Deu 4:14 “And יהוה commanded me at that time to teach you laws and right-rulings, for you to do them in the land which you pass over to possess. Deu 4:15 “Therefore, diligently guard (shamar) yourselves, for you saw no form when יהוה spoke to you at Ḥorĕḇ out of the midst of the fire, …;Why they didn’t saw any form?
Deu 4:16 lest you should do corruptly and shall make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure – the likeness of male or female, Deu 4:17 the likeness of any beast that is on the earth or the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the heavens, Deu 4:18 the likeness of any creature that creeps on the ground or the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth; --- Deu 4:19 and lest you lift up your eyes to the heavens, and shall see the sun, and the moon, and the stars – all the host of the heavens – and you be drawn away into bowing down to them and serving them, which יהוה your Elohim has allotted to all the peoples under all the heavens.
Moshe attaches the fact to “see” יהוה with Idolatry. This is what we see all around the world in different religions where people are in bondage.(Bouddha, Kkrishna,…), having made carved image, and figure, in the form of statues, images, even in the form of animals, while other worship the sun as it is many times in south America and other places. I have seen people worshiping “G-d“ and “Jesus” whom they know through the Roman Catholic religion and still bringing “offering” to the sun!...The warning goes further quoting the second commandment.
Verse 19 there is a warning concerning the adoration of the sun and the moon.
We know that mitzrayim is the worship of the sun in the Mithras religion.
Eze 8:1 and it came to be in the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth of the month, as I sat in my house with the elders of Yehuḏah sitting before me, that the hand of the Master יהוה fell upon me there.
Eze 8:2 and I looked and saw a likeness, like the appearance of fire. From His waist and downward the appearance was like fire, and from His waist and upward the appearance of brightness, like glowing metal.
Eze 8:3 and He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my hair. And the Spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heavens, and brought me in visions of Elohim to Yerushalayim, to the door of the north gate of the inner court, where the seat of the image of jealousy (semel hakkinah the image of some pagan god) was, which causes jealousy ("qana" as in Sh'mot 20:5).
Eze 8:4 and see, the esteem of the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl was there, like the vision that I saw in the plain.
Eze 8:5 and He said to me, “Son of man, please lift your eyes toward the north.” And I lifted my eyes northward, and north of the altar gate I saw this image of jealousy in the entrance. Eze 8:6 and He said to me, “Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations which the house of Yisra’ĕl are doing here, driving Me away from My set-apart place? And you are to see still greater abominations.” Eze 8:7 Then He brought me to the door of the court. And I looked and saw a hole in the wall. Eze 8:8 and He said to me, “Son of man, please dig into the wall.” And when I dug into the wall I saw a door. Eze 8:9 and He said to me, “Go in, and see the evil abominations1 which they are doing there.” Footnote: 1See 6:4, Dt. 4:19, Dt. 17:3, 2 Ki. 23:4-11, 2 Chr. 14:5, Job 31:29, Jer. 19:13, Jer. 44:17, Acts 7:42. Eze 8:10 And I went in and looked and saw all kinds of creeping creatures, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Yisra’ĕl, carved all around on the walls. Eze 8:11 and facing them stood seventy men of the elders of the house of Yisra’ĕl, and in their midst stood Yaʽazanyahu son of Shaphan. Each one had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up. Eze 8:12 and He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Yisra’ĕl are doing in the dark, each one in the room of his idols? For they say, ‘יהוה does not see us, יהוה has forsaken the land.’ ” Eze 8:13 and He said to me, “You are to see still greater abominations which they are doing.” Eze 8:14 and He brought me to the door of the north gate of the House of יהוה, and I saw women sitting there, weeping for Tammuz . Eze 8:15 Then He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? You are to see still greater abominations than these.Eze 8:16 and He brought me into the inner court of the House of יהוה. And there, at the door of the Hĕḵal (Temple) of יהוה, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the Hĕḵal (Temple) of יהוה and their faces toward the east, and they were bowing themselves eastward to the sun
Tammuz: The name of a Phoenician deity, the Adonis of the Greeks. He was originally a Sumerian or Babylonian sun-god, called Dumuzu, the husband of Ishtar, who corresponds to Aphrodite of the Greeks. The worship of these deities was introduced into Syria in very early times under the designation of Tammuz and Astarte, and appears among the Greeks in the myth of Adonis and Aphrodite, who are identified with Osiris and Isis of the Egyptian pantheon, showing how widespread the cult became. The Babylonian myth represents Dumuzu, or Tammuz, as a beautiful shepherd slain by a wild boar, the symbol of winter. Ishtar long mourned for him and descended into the underworld to deliver him from the embrace of death (Frazer, Adonis, Attis and Osiris). This mourning for Tammuz was celebrated in Babylonia by women on the 2nd day of the 4th month, which thus acquired the name of Tammuz (see CALENDAR). This custom of weeping for Tammuz is referred to in the Bible in the only passage where the name occurs (Eze_8:14). The chief seat of the cult in Syria was Gebal (modern Gebail, Greek Bublos) in Phoenicia, to the South of which the river Adonis (Nahr Ibrahı̂m) has its mouth, and its source is the magnificent fountain of Apheca (modern ‛Afḳa), where was the celebrated temple of Venus or Aphrodite, the ruins of which still exist. The women of Gebal used to repair to this temple in midsummer to celebrate the death of Adonis or Tammuz, and there arose in connection with this celebration those licentious rites which rendered the cult so infamous that it was suppressed by Constantine the Great.
The name Adonis, by which this deity was known to the Greeks, is none other than the Phoenician אדון, 'Ādhōn, which is the same in Hebrew. His death is supposed to typify the long, dry summer of Syria and Palestine, when vegetation perishes, and his return to life the rainy season when the parched earth is revivified and is covered with luxuriant vegetation, or his death symbolizes the cold, rough winter, the boar of the myth, and his return the verdant spring.
Considering the disgraceful and licentious rites with which the cult was celebrated, it is no wonder that Ezekiel should have taken the vision of the women weeping for Tammuz in the temple as one of the greatest abominations that could defile the Holy House. See ADONIS…(2) The fourth month of the Jewish year, corresponding to July. The name is derived from that of a Syrian god, identified with Adonis (Eze_8:14).(ISBE)(International Standard Bible Encyclopedia).
The prophet YirmeYahu spoke also from this abominations:
Jer 43:8 and the word of יהוה came to Yirmeyahu in Taḥpanḥes, saying,
Jer 43:9 “Take large stones in your hand, and you shall hide them before the eyes of the men of Yehuḏah, in the clay in the brick courtyard which is at the entrance to Pharaoh’s house in Taḥpanḥes. ..Jer 43:10 “Then you shall say to them, ‘Thus said יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, “See, I am sending, and I shall bring Neḇuḵaḏretstsar the sovereign of Baḇel, My servant. And I shall set his throne above these stones that I have hidden. And he shall spread his canopy over them. Jer 43:11 “And he shall come and smite the land of Mitsrayim, bringing death to those appointed for death, and captivity to those for captivity, and the sword to those for the sword. Jer 43:12 “And he shall set fire to the houses of the mighty ones of Mitsrayim. And he shall burn them and take them captive. And he shall cover himself with the land of Mitsrayim, as a shepherd puts on his garment, and he shall go out from there in peace. Jer 43:13 “And he shall break the stone pillars of the House of the Sun which are in the land of Mitsrayim, and he shall burn the houses of the mighty ones of the Mitsrites with fire.” ’ ” The King James give this verse:--- Jer 43:13  He shall breakH7665 also(H853) the imagesH4676 of Bethshemesh,H1053 thatH834 is in the landH776 of Egypt;H4714 and the housesH1004 of the godsH430 of the EgyptiansH4714 shall he burnH8313 with fire.H784
Bet-Shemesh: Strong’s # H1053....בּית שׁמשׁ  bêyth shemesh bayth sheh'-mesh.
From H1004 and H8121; house of (the) sun; Beth-Shemesh, a place in Palestine: - Beth-shemesh. Here we can see that the idolatry to worship the sun come from Mitsrayim. (Egypte). The prophet goes on and writes:
Jer 44:15 Then all the men who knew that their wives had burned incense to other mighty ones (elohim), and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, and all the people who dwelt in the land of Mitsrayim, in Pathros, answered Yirmeyahu, saying,
Jer 44:16We are not going to listen to you in the matter about which you spoke to us in the Name of יהוה!
Jer 44:17But we shall do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the sovereigness of the heavens (Ishtar) and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our sovereigns and our heads, in the cities of Yehuḏah and in the streets of Yerushalayim. And we had plenty of food, and were well-off, and saw no evil. Jer 44:18But since we ceased burning incense to the sovereigness of the heavens (Ishtar) and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked all and have been consumed by the sword and by scarcity of food. Jer 44:19 “And when we burned incense to the sovereigness of the heavens and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make cakes for her, to idolize her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our husbands?
The Queen of heaven is known to be Ishtar also called Simeramis

All this has been seen by Moshe before he died, he warns the children of Israel verse 23, and prophecy that יהוה will scatter them out of the land. He calls heaven and earth to be witness against the children of Israel and told them that they will be scattered among the nations.
At this time, the children of Israel are united the House of Yehuda and the House of Israel are still One. The prophecy does not touch Yehuda only but both Houses.
Deu 4:29 “But from there (from among the nations, verse27) you shall seek יהוה your Elohim, and shall find, when you search for Him with all your heart and with all your being..Deu 4:30 “In your distress, when all these words shall come upon you in the latter days (the days we are living now), then you shall return to יהוה your Elohim and shall obey (shama) His voice. Deu 4:31 “For יהוה your Elohim is a compassionate Ěl, He does not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.
When are the “last days”?
Heb 1:2 has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed heir of all, through whom also He made the ages,
Act 2:17 ‘And it shall be in the last days, says Elohim, that I shall pour out of My Spirit on all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams,
Since the first coming of Messiah יהושע we are living in the last days:
Eph 1:10 to administer at the completion of time, to gather together in one all in Messiah, both which are in the heavens and which are on earth, in Him, ...
The completion of time is the period between the first coming and the second coming of Messiah.

Deu 4:30 When thou art in tribulation,H6862 and allH3605 theseH428 thingsH1697 are comeH4672 upon thee, even in the latterH319 days,H3117 if thou turnH7725 toH5704 the YHWHH3068 thy Elohim,H430 and shalt be obedientH8085 unto his voice;H6963.........
Tribulation: Strong’s # H6862 צר    צרtsar  tsâr tsar, tsawr From H6887; narrow; (as a noun) a tight place (usually figuratively, that is, trouble); also a pebble (as in H6864); (transitively) an opponent (as crowding): - adversary, afflicted (-tion), anguish, close, distress, enemy, flint, foe, narrow, small, sorrow, strait, tribulation, trouble......
Reading the strong’s description we can see which time it is about.
Mat 7:13 “Enter in through the narrow gate! Because the gate is wide – and the way is broad – that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in through it. Mat 7:14 “Because the gate is narrow and the way is hard pressed1 which leads to life, and there are few who find it....
Let us read what is Strong’s Greek word for “narrow”, in the gospel of MattytiYahu: Narrow:Strong’s # G2346 thlibō thlee'-bo Akin to the base of G5147; to crowd (literally or figuratively): - afflict, narrow, throng, suffer tribulation, trouble...
We see that both words speak of the same situation in the later days: The time period of tribulations.
4:39 “And you shall know today, and shall recall to your heart that יהוה Himself is Elohim in the heavens above and on the earth beneath; there is none else.
Deu 4:40 “And you shall guard His laws and His commands which I command you today, so that it is well with you and with your children after you, and so that you prolong your days on the soil which יהוה your Elohim is giving you for all time.” ……We can find some verses in proverbs speaking about the length of life….
Pro 9:10 The fear of יהוה is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Set-apart One is understanding.
Pro 9:11 For by me your days become many, and years of life are added to you….
Pro 10:27 The fear of יהוה prolongs days, but the years of the wrong ones are shortened….
To keep the commandments add days and prolong life!........
Chapter 5.
Deu 5:1 and Mosheh called all Yisra’ĕl, and said to them, “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl, the laws and right-rulings which I speak in your hearing today. And you shall learn them, and guard (shamar) to do them. .....
Not only a hearer but a doer of the word! Ya’acov wrote these words. Ya’acov has been considered for a long time and is still today for an apostle who was not important in the renewed covenant. Been יהושע’s brother it is told in Christianity that he didn’t believe יהושע to be Messiah. I will encourage those who like the truth, to listen to the program of EliyYahu ben David , even if I don’t agree with the Christian way to present this program. Fact is that he speak about “James the just” or “Ya’acov HaTzadeek”, been the pillar of the government at the time of the apostles. The roman catholic has been always striving to put “Peter” has the most important apostle, but history shows that it was Ya’acov who ruled during this time.(www.tsiyon.org). Ya’acov was able to keep the unity in the assembly in Jerusalem compounded from those believing יהושע and those keeping only the Torah. We can see this in Sha’ul epistle in Roman 14 and 15. After the murder of Ya’acov there was a split in the Assembly between those following יהושע and those following the Torah after the letter.......
Act 15:1 and certain men came down from Yehuḏah and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised, according to the practice of Mosheh, you are unable to be saved.”
Act 15:2 So when Sha’ul and Barnaḇah had no small dissension and dispute with them, they arranged for Sha’ul and Barnaḇah and certain others of them to go up to Yerushalayim, to the emissaries and elders, about this question...............
Act 15:7 And when there had been much dispute, Kĕpha rose up and said to them, “Men, brothers, you know that a good while ago Elohim chose among us, that by my mouth the gentiles should hear the word of the Good News and believe............................
Act 15:13 And after they were silent, Yaʽaqoḇ answered, saying, “Men, brothers, listen to me...................................
Act 15:19Therefore I (Ya’acov) judge that we should not trouble those from among the gentiles who are turning to Elohim..........................
By reading this passage in Acts 15 we see what the position of Ya’acov was. All the apostles went to him to hear his decision. Ya’acov was the brother of יהושע, he was a direct descendant from King David by blood and had the right of ruling over Israel when יהושע went to the Father.
Chapter 6.---- Moshe will recall the commandments to the children of Israel. The reason once again is that many of them where not present the day יהוה gave them at Mount Sinai.....We notice verse 12 is a difference with the one in Sh’mot 20.
The first time we read Sh’mot 20:8 remember the Shabbat day......
Here we read: Keep the Shabbat day......Keep: Strong’s # H8104 שׁמר shâmar shaw-mar' Shin(300), mem (40), resh(200) (total540).....A primitive root; properly to hedge about (as with thorns), that is, guard; generally to protect, attend to, etc.: - beware, be circumspect, take heed (to self), keep (-er, self), , regard, reserve, save (self), sure, (that lay) wait (for), mark, look narrowly, observe, preserve watch (-man)....The word used in Sh’mot 20:8 is......
Remember:Strong’s # 2142 זכר zâkar zaw-kar' zayin (7)Khaf (20), resh ((200) (total227)....A primitive root; properly to mark (so as to be recognized), that is, to remember; by implication to mention; also (as denominative from H2145) to be male: -  X burn [incense], X earnestly, be male, (make) mention (of), be mindful, recount, record (-er), remember, make to be remembered, bring (call, come, keep, put) to (in) remembrance, X still, think on, X well......
We see Moshe tell the children of Israel that they have to take heed to observe the Shabbat and to mark it.....
Today יהוה calls his people back to the Torah to keep the Shabbat and the feast. The Shabbat is the “mark” of יהוה as it is in Sh’mot 20:8 and we must take heed to guard (shamar) it and keep it as it is written in D’varim, for it is the sign between יהוה and His people.....
Exo 31:16  Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Exo 31:17  It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Deu 5:32 “And you shall guard (shamar) to do as יהוה your Elohim has commanded you – do not turn aside, to the right or to the left.

Do not turn to the right or to the left. Tradition explains in Hebrew teaching that in the tree of life there is three pillars. The right is the side of mercy, represented by Abraham, the left the side of judgment or strictness represented by Isaac and the middle pillar the one who unite both, represented by Ya’acov. The middle pillar that is Messiah.
The right side is also called: Yetzer Tov , the good inclination. The left side is called the Yetzer Hara, the evil inclination. There is no such thing as “original sin” in Hebrew teaching. Man does not need to be free from “original sin”, but shall choose to walk the path of righteousness which is the middle pillar….
Chapter 6. ---- This is the most well know chapter among the Yehudin, the chapter of the Sh’ma
Every Jews recite the sh’ma in the morning’s prayer and before to go to sleep. …Verse 2……… and that thy days may be prolonged. …It seems to be clear: You want to have long life keep the Torah!
Pro 3:1 My son, do not forget my Torah, And let your heart watch over my commands;....Pro 3:2 for length of days and long life and peace they add to you.....
Today we see people dying very young, through sicknesses, or accident. They have been stolen from their peace. Has יהוה changed? Is he no more there to protect His people? Or is it that we have forgotten to keep the Torah....
Mic 7:5 Trust no friend, rely on no companion, guards the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom. Mic 7:6 for son is despising father, daughter rises up against her mother, daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, the enemies of a man are the men of his own house.(compare with יהושע’s teaching in Matt. 10:21,36)Mic 7:7 as for me, I look to יהוה, I wait for the Elohim of my deliverance, my Elohim does hear me. Mic 7:8 do not rejoice over me, O my enemy. When I have fallen I have risen, when I sit in darkness יהוה is a light to me. Mic 7:9 I bear the displeasure of יהוה, for I have sinned against Him, until He pleads my case, and shall execute right-ruling for me, until He brings me out into the light and I look on His righteousness.
Mal 4:1 “For look, the day shall come, burning like a furnace, and all the proud, and every wrongdoer shall be stubble. And the day that shall come shall burn them up,” said יהוה of hosts, “which leaves to them neither root nor branch. Mal 4:2 “But to you who fear My Name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings. And you shall go out and leap for joy like calves from the stall. Mal 4:3 “And you shall trample the wrongdoers, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this,” said יהוה of hosts. Mal 4:4Remember the Torah of Mosheh, My servant, which I commanded him in Ḥorĕḇ for all Yisra’ĕl – laws and right-rulings. It is the responsibility to the father and the mother to teach their children the way of יהוה. Today we see many are disappointed about the behaviour of their children. They forget to ask themselves what they have “planted” in their life. Most family goes to work both, and put the children in a day care place. They come to pick the children late in the afternoon and come home tied and have no time for the children. Is it יהוה’s fault when children go their own ways?
Remember Yochanan says: do not love anything in the world …….
Today people want to have the best life standard, make vacation, and possess two cars and the brand new TV. Women have never enough from new clothes and shoes.....
How can this be harmonized with family life where the children are in the midst of the family and receive education from loving parents instead of the teaching of the world?
Therefore Moshe warn the children of Israel:
Deu 6:10 “And it shall be, when יהוה your Elohim brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Aḇraham, to Yitsḥaq, and to Yaʽaqoḇ, to give you great and good cities which you did not build, Deu 6:11 and houses filled with all kinds of goods, which you did not fill, and wells dug which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and you shall eat and be satisfied –
Deu 6:12 be on guard, lest you forget יהוה who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, from the house of bondage. Deu 6:13 “Fear יהוה your Elohim and serve Him, and swear by His Name.
Deu 6:14 “Do not go after other mighty ones (elohim), the mighty ones of the peoples who are all around you,
Many times when all goes fine, we have the tendency to forget lightly where we get all these goodness. In Judaism we learn that there are two conditions when the danger of sin increases: First when we receive great blessing from our Elohim and the second is when all goes bad, we think, there is no reason to keep going this way. All goes wrong anyway!
Deu 6:14 “Do not go after other mighty ones, the mighty ones (elohim) of the peoples who are all around you, ............
The king James speaks from “gods”. ---- Who are this “gods” today? People very often will laugh if you tell them about going after other “gods”. They don’t realize that everything that keeps us from worshiping יהוה Elohim, is a “god” unto us. For some it is base ball, for other soccer, or TV, or music and all its demonic power on the mind of young people. There is much more to say about “gods”, for today the life has so many “gods” to entangle people. They don’t even realize that they are prisoners and their mind set on things that put in bondage......
2Co 4:4 in whom the mighty one (god) of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so that the enlightening of the Good News of the esteem (glory) of Messiah, who is the likeness of Elohim, does not shine on them.....
Chapter 7:1-11---- יהוה says to remove the seven nations that are in the promise land verses 1-2.....Verse 3-4 יהוה commands the children of Israel to keep distance from the people and not to intermarry with them. The reason is clear and simple: for they will turn away thy son from following me that they may serve other gods!
How it is today? I have met people in the Philippines, mostly Christians who have no problem to intermarry with Romans Catholics boys or girls! We even have some among messianic who do it also, saying that the matte will turn to their faith! יהוה warns that it will be the other way.
How it is with you, are you teaching your children to avoid intimacy with neighbours who have not the same belief?
If you are sons or daughter, how it is with you? Are you aware of the danger of compromise?
יהוה commands them to destroy their altars, and break down their statues, cut down their groves and burn their graven images....How it is with your neighbours or may be in the school all those who adore “music idols” or “football idols” they go to put poster in their rooms. Some as I saw in Germany clothe themselves with the club colours and shout like one man to demonstrate their allegation to their idols.
Deu 7:6 “For you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim. יהוה your Elohim has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples on the face of the earth. Deu 7:7יהוה did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more numerous than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples, Deu 7:8 but because of יהוה loving you, and because of Him guarding (shamar) the oath which He swore to your fathers, יהוה has brought you out with a strong hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim. ….Deu 7:9 “And you shall know that יהוה your Elohim, He is Elohim, the trustworthy Ěl guarding covenant and kindness for a thousand generations with those who love Him, and those who guard His commands,…
.יהוה make clears the reason why he chose the children of Israel. He is El of covenant. The covenant he did to Abraham, Ytzak and Ya’acov. יהוה made an oath to Abram to do what he promised.....Gen 22:16 and said, “By Myself I have sworn, declares יהוה, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son, Gen 22:17 that I shall certainly bless you, and I shall certainly increase your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore, and let your seed possess the gate of their enemies.
Gen 22:18 “And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed (shama) My voice.”
The word used here in verse 16 for sworn is the same word as used for the word oath in D’varim 7:8
Sworn:Strong”s # H7621 שׁבוּעה shebû‛âh sheb-oo-aw'.......Feminine passive participle of H7650; properly something sworn, that is, an oath: - curse, oath, X sworn....;H7650shâba‛ shaw-bah'
A primitive root; properly to be complete, but used only as a denominative from H7651; to seven oneself, that is, swear (as if by repeating a declaration seven times): - adjure, charge (by an oath, with an oath), feed to the full [by mistake for H7646], take an oath, X straitly, (cause to, make to) swear.
Deu 7:10 but repaying those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He does not delay to do so with him who hates Him, He repays him to his face.
Read what Sha’ul write to the Romains:
Rom 12:19 Beloved, do not revenge yourselves, but give place to the wrath, for it has been written, “Vengeance is Mine, I shall repay,” says יהוה.
May יהוה the Elohim of peace guide your path in his Torah.
Psa 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Haftorah
Keil and Delitzsch commentary:
In this first address the prophet vindicates his call to be the preacher of the comfort of the approaching deliverance, and explains this comfort on the ground that Jehovah, who called him to this comforting proclamation, was the incomparably exalted Creator and Ruler of the world. The first part of this address (Isa_40:1-11) may be regarded as the prologue to the whole twenty-seven. The theme of the prophetic promise, and the irresistible certainty of its fulfilment, are here declared. Turning of the people of the captivity, whom Jehovah has neither forgotten nor rejected.....
Verse 2 Barnes:---Isa 40:2  ....Speak ye comfortably - Hebrew, על־לב  ‛al-lēb as in the margin, ‘To the heart (leb).’ The heart is the seat of the affections. It is there that sorrow and joy are felt. We are oppressed there with grief, and we speak familiarly of being pained at the heart and of being of a glad or merry heart. To speak ‘to the heart,’ is to speak in such a way as to remove the troubles of the heart; to furnish consolation, and joy. It means that they were not merely to urge such topics as should convince the understanding, but such also as should be adopted to minister consolation to the heart. ....To Jerusalem - The direction is not merely to speak to the people in Babylon, but also to comfort Jerusalem itself lying in ruins. The general direction is, therefore, that the entire series of topics of consolation should be adduced - the people were to return from their bondage, and Jerusalem was to be rebuilt, and the worship of God to be restored.
And cry unto her - In the manner of a crier; or one making public and loud proclamation (compare Isa_40:3, Isa_40:9). Jerusalem is here personified. She is addressed as in ruins, and as about to be rebuilt, and as capable of consolation from this promise.......That her warfare is accomplished - Septuagint, ‘That her humiliation (ταπείνωσις  tapeinōsis) is accomplished.’ The Hebrew word (צבא  tsâbâ', ‘warfare’) properly means an army or host (compare the note at Isa_1:9), and is usually applied to an army going forth to war, or marshalled for battle 2Sa_8:16; 2Sa_10:7. It is then used to denote an appointed time of service; the discharge of a duty similar to an enlistment, and is applied to the services of the Levites in the tabernacle Num_4:28 : ‘All that enter in to perform the service (Hebrew, to war the warfare), to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.’ Compare Num_8:24-25. Hence, it is applied to human life contemplated as a warfare, or enlistment, involving hard service and calamity; an enlistment from which there is to be a discharge by death.....Isa 40:3 Jamieson, Fausset and Brown in (Daniel add).....crieth in the wilderness — So the Septuagint and Mat_3:3 connect the words. The Hebrew accents, however, connect them thus: “In the wilderness prepare ye,” etc., and the parallelism also requires this, “Prepare ye in the wilderness,” answering to “make straight in the desert.” Matthew was entitled, as under inspiration, to vary the connection, so as to bring out another sense, included in the Holy Spirit’s intention; in Mat_3:1, “John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness,” answers thus to “The voice of one crying in the wilderness .....
The clause, “in the wilderness,” alludes to Israel’s passage through it from Egypt to Canaan (Psa_68:7), YHWH (through Moshe) being their leader; so it shall be at the coming restoration of Israel (with יהושע), of which the restoration from Babylon was but a type (not the full realization; for their way from it was not through the “wilderness”).
Where John preached (namely, in the wilderness; the type of this earth, a moral wilderness), there were the hearers who are ordered to prepare the way of YHWH, and there was to be the coming of the YHWH [Bengel]. John, though he was immediately followed by the suffering Messiah, is rather the herald of the coming reigning Messiah, as Mal_4:5, Mal_4:6 (“before the great and dreadful day of YHWH”), proves. Mat_17:11 (compare Act_3:21) implies that John is not exclusively meant; and that though in one sense Elias has come, in another he is yet to come. John was the figurative Elias, coming “in the spirit and power of Elias” (Luk_1:17); Joh_1:21, where John the Baptist denies that he was the actual Elias, accords with this view. Mal_4:5, Mal_4:6 cannot have received its exhaustive fulfilment in John; the Jews always understood it of the literal Elijah. As there is another consummating advent of Messiah Himself, so perhaps there is to be of his forerunner Elias, who also was present at the transfiguration.
Isa 40:1 “Comfort, comfort My people!” says your Elohim. ...Isa 40:2 “Speak to the heart of Yerushalayim, and cry out to her, that her hard service is completed, that her crookedness is pardoned, that she has received from the hand of יהוה double for all her sins.” Isa 40:3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, “Prepare the way of יהוה; make straight in the desert a highway for our Elohim. Isa 40:4 “Let every valley be raised, and every mountain and hill made low. And the steep ground shall become level, and the rough places smooth. Isa 40:5…………..Barnes commentary:
And all flesh - All human beings. The word ‘flesh’ is often used to denote human nature, or mankind in general Gen_6:12; Psa_65:3; Psa_145:21. The idea is that the deliverance of his people would be such a display of the divine interposition, so that all nations would discern the evidences of his power and glory. But there is fullness and richness in the language which allows that it is not to be confined to that event. It is more strikingly applicable to the advent of the Messiah - and to the fact that through him the glory of יהוה would be manifest to all nations. Rosenmuller supposes that this should be translated,......And all flesh shall see together
That the mouth of יהוה hath spoken it..............................
Isa 40:5 “And the esteem of יהוה shall be revealed, and all flesh together shall see it. For the mouth of יהוה has spoken.”
Isa 40:6 the voice said, “Cry out!” and he said, “What do I cry?” “All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. Isa 40:7 “Grass shall wither, the flower shall fade, when the Spirit of יהוה has blown on it! Truly the people is grass! Isa 40:8 “Grass shall wither, the flower shall fade, but the Word of our Elohim stands forever1.” Footnote: 11 Peter 1:24-25. ..Isa 40:9 you who bring good news to Tsiyon, get up into the high mountain. You who bring good news to Yerushalayim, lift up your voice with strength, lift it up, be not afraid. Say to the cities of Yehuḏah, “See your Elohim!” ….Isa 40:10 see, the Master יהוה comes with a strong hand, and His arm rules for Him. See, His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him.
Isa 40:10 Albert Barnes commentary:---- Behold,  יהוה God will come - (See the note at Isa_40:3) Applied to the condition of the Jews in exile, this means that God would come to deliver them. Applied to the times of the Messiah, it means that God would manifest himself in a powerful manner as mighty to save....With strong hand - (בחזק  bechâzâq). Margin, ‘Against the strong.’ So Vitringa and others understand it; and regard it as referring to the mighty enemies of the people of God, or, as Vitringa particularly supposes, to the great foe of God and his people - the prince of darkness - the devil. Lowth also translates it in this manner, ‘Against the strong one.’ The Septuagint renders it, Μετά ἰσχύος  Meta ischuos - ‘With strength.’ This is the more probable meaning - that YHWH would come with the manifestation of strength and power, able to subdue and vanquish all the enemies of his people, and to effect their complete and final salvation.....And his arm - The arm is a symbol of strength, because it is by that that we accomplish our purposes; by that a conqueror slays his enemies in battle, etc. Thus, ‘Break thou the arm of the wicked;’ that is, diminish or destroy his power Psa_10:15. ‘I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt’ (Eze_30:21; compare Jer_48:25). Thus it is said of God, ‘Thou hast a mighty arm’ Psa_89:13, and, ‘His holy arm hath gotten him the victory’ (Psa_98:1; compare Exo_6:6). The metaphor is taken from the act of stretching out the arm to fight in battle, where the arm is the effective instrument in subduing an enemy.....
Shall rule for him - Lowth renders the phrase, לו  , ‘for him,’ ‘over him:’ - ‘And his arm shall prevail over him;’ that is, over the strong and mighty foe. The Septuagint renders it, Μετά κυρίας  Meta kurias - ‘With dominion.’ But the meaning seems to be, ‘God is mighty by himself; his power resides in his own arm; he is not dependent on others; he will accomplish the deliverance in such a manner that it shall be seen that he did it alone; and he shall rule for himself, without any aid, and so that it shall be manifest that he is the sovereign.’ In the deliverance of his people from their captivity, he so directed it, that it was manifest that he was their deliverer and sovereign; and in the redemption of man, the same thing is apparent, that the arm of God effects the deliverance, and that it is his own power that establishes the dominion.....Behold, his reward is with him - He will be ready to confer the appropriate reward on his own people. The idea seems to be taken from the custom of a conqueror, who distributes rewards among his followers and soldiers after a signal victory. This was always done in ancient wars, apparently because it seemed to be an act of justice that those who had gained the victory should share also in the result, and this participation of the booty was a stimulus to future effort, as well as a compensation for their valor. The rewards distributed consisted generally of that which was taken from the conquered; gold, and silver, and raiment, as well as captives or slaves (see Gen_49:7; Exo_15:9; 1Sa_30:26; and particularly Jdg_5:30):
Daniel: The arm is the member of the body through which the action is done. Here we should understand that the metaphor “His arm rules for Him”, means יהושע who is the one through whom everything is done!
Isa 53:1 Who has believed our report? And to whom was the arm of יהוה revealed?
Isa 53:2 for He grew up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or splendour that we should look upon Him, nor appearance that we should desire Him –
Joh 12:35 יהושע, therefore, said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you. And he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.
Joh 12:36 “While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you become sons of light.” These words יהושע spoke, and went off and was hidden from them. Joh 12:37 but though He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him, Joh 12:38 that the word of Yeshayahu the prophet might be filled, which he spoke, “יהוה, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of יהוה been revealed?”
Joh 12:39 because of this they were unable to believe, because again Yeshayahu said: Joh 12:40He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they should not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and turn, and I should heal them.”1 Footnote: 1See Mt. 13:15. Joh 12:41 Yeshayahu said this when he saw His esteem and spoke of Him. Joh 12:42 Still, even among the rulers many did believe in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the congregation,
Joh 12:43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of Elohim. …
Isa 40:11 he feeds His flock like a shepherd, He gathers the lambs with His arm, and carries them in His bosom, gently leading those who are with young.

Isa 40:12 who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and measured the heavens with a span, and contained the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance? Isa 40:13 who has meted out the Spirit of יהוה, or as His counselor taught Him?
Isa 40:14 with whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him, and taught Him in the path of right-ruling? Who taught Him knowledge, and showed Him the way of understanding? Isa 40:15 see, nations are as a drop in a bucket, and are reckoned as dust on the balance. See, He lifts up isles as fine dust. Isa 40:16 and Leḇanon is not enough to burn, nor its beasts enough for a burnt offering. Isa 40:17 all nations before Him are as a non-entity, and they are reckoned by Him as less than a speck, and emptiness. Isa 40:18 and to whom would you liken Ěl? And what likeness would you compare to Him? Isa 40:19 the workman moulds a graven image, and the goldsmith overspreads it with gold, and the silversmith casts silver chains. Isa 40:20 he who is too poor for such an offering chooses a tree that does not rot. He seeks for himself a skilled craftsman to prepare a carved image that does not totter. ….
Verses 21-26 commentary from John Gill:
Isa 40:21 Have ye not known? This is the speech of the prophet, directed to the idolaters, appealing to their own natural knowledge, who, from the light of nature, might know that idols were nothing, had no divinity in them: that it is God that made the earth and governs the world, and who only ought to be worshipped: have ye not heard? by tradition from the ancients, from your forefathers, who received it from theirs, and have delivered it to you: --hath it not been told you from the beginning? from the beginning of your states and kingdoms, and even from the beginning of the world, by the wisest and best of men that have been in it, that those things are true before related, and what follow: ---have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? the being of God, the invisible things of him, his eternal power and Godhead, from the things that are made, even from his founding of the earth; as well as such knowledge and understanding has been as early as that, and might be continued from it: or, ...have ye not understood the foundations of the earth (y)? what the earth is founded upon, and who laid the foundations of it; no other than that divine Being described in the next words.
Isa 40:22  It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth,.... Or, "the globe (z)" of it; for the earth is spherical or globular: not a flat plain, but round, hung as a ball in the air; here Yehovah sits as the Master and Sovereign; being the Maker of it, he is above it, orders and directs its motion, and governs all things in it.
and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; or "locusts (a)"; as one upon a very great eminence looking down beholds creatures as exceeding small and little; and if the Israelites were to the "anakim" or giants as grasshoppers, Num_13:33, much more must puny mortals be such in the sight of God, and in comparison of him; and this may denote, not only the minuteness of men, but what weak, impotent, useless, worthless, and short lived creatures men are: ---- that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain; alluding to the firmament or expanse made at the creation, and still continued; which is as a curtain to himself, which he draws around himself, he dwelling in the highest heavens, and in light inaccessible to mortals; and which he stretches out as a canopy around this earth, for the use of the inhabitants of it: or, "as a little thing"; or, as a little skin (b); and which he stretches out as easily as a man can stretch out that:   --- and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in it; for himself to dwell in, and so stretches out the heavens like curtains about him; tents being made of such, and often of skins. ...Isa 40:23 That bringeth princes to nothing,.... The great men of the earth, kings, rulers, and nobles, these he brings to the dust; and all their counsels, schemes, and purposes, come to nothing; and their monarchies and kingdoms too in time. Where are now the Babylonish, Persian, and Grecian monarchies, and those great princes that formerly reigned in them? He maketh the judges of the earth as vanity; their decrees and decisions to stand for nothing, as "tohu" and "bohu", the first of which words is used here; so that they are no more regarded and attended to......
Isa 40:24 Yea, they shall not be planted.... As trees are, like the cedars in Lebanon, though they may seem to be such; but be like the grass of the field, and herbs of the earth: or, "even they shall be", as if they were "not planted (c)", they shall not grow and flourish; or they shall be plucked up, and be no more; this is said of the princes and judges of the earth; nay, ....they shall not be sown; as seed is, which springing up, brings forth fruit, but so it shall not be with them; or they shall be as if they had not been sown, no fruit being brought forth by them: ---yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth; so as to continue and abide, but they shall soon vanish and disappear, as the most powerful princes and wisest judges do.
The Targum is, ...."although they multiply, although they increase, although their children become great in the earth:''
"and" or "yea", ......he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither; as grass withers, when a severe wind blows upon it: -----and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble; which is not able to stand before the force of it; and as unable are the greatest potentates on earth to stand before the tempest of divine wrath and vengeance; if God blows but upon them in anger, all their glory and grandeur, pomp and power, wither away like the flower of the field; and especially if he comes forth in all the fury of his wrath in a tempestuous way against them, they are no more able to stand before him that stubble before a violent storm: see Rev_6:15. The Targum is, ...."yet, even he will send his fury upon them; and his word shall take them away, as a whirlwind stubble.''
Isa 40:25  To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal, saith the Holy One? Or be upon a level with? since the greatest of men on earth are brought to nothing by him, and are no more: this is repeated from Isa_40:18 and supported with fresh strength of argument, to show that there is nothing whatever, that is a fit likeness and similitude, by which to represent the Lo....Isa 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high,.... From the earth, and the inhabitants of it, even those of the greatest power and influence in it, to the heavens above, those that are visible to the eye:
And behold who hath created these things; that are seen in the heavens, the sun, moon, and stars; consider the Creator of them, what a glorious Being he must be; what power he must be possessed of; what dazzling light he must dwell in; what glory and majesty he must be clothed with; and how infinitely transcending all mortal creatures he must be: ---that bringeth out their host by number; not only into being, at the first creation of them, but at every proper season; causing the sun to rise every morning, the stars to appear at night, and the moon in its revolution; as a general brings forth his army, marshals it in order, musters it, and takes the number of his soldiers: ---- he calleth them all by names; suitable to their position and influence; he knows the proper names of them all, which no astrologer can pretend unto; and this is such knowledge as no general of an army has; for though the stars are innumerable to men, the names of most unknown, they are all known to him that made them, Psa_147:4, --- by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power not one faileth; through the omnipotence of God, not only the sun and moon, the great luminaries, are continued in being, and constantly observe their order; but even every star keeps its place, or performs its course, and retains its influence, and in every instance obeys the commands of its Creator; never fails of appearing at his order, and of doing what he appoints it should. Kimchi gives the sense thus, that according to the virtue and efficacy that there is in every star, so is its name; and because of the strength and power that is in everyone of them, they remain unchangeably and unalterably the same as when they were first created; which not only holds true of the sun and moon, but of the stars lesser and greater. Which is the first commandment of all? — This is the most important, having the first place in observing the “mitzvoth” (commands), according to D’varim (Deuter).6:4. The second comes from Vayyiqra (Lev;)19:18.....Both are the foundation of the Decalogue , the ten commandment, the first been embedded in the first five commands of the ten commands and pointing to the Love for יהוה , the second pointing to the relation between man and his neighbour embedded in the last five commands from the Decalogue. This is crucial to our life style for a perfect walk in the Torah all burnt offerings and offerings cannot equal with these two commands!
