One
statement must be given concerning the use of the Hebrew letter of the “tetragramaton” יהוה
instead of the Name.
The reason is that I wish to avoid controversy and vain discussion, I let each
of the reader follow their own conviction, having my own, I let everybody the
possibility to follow their own. I have made my own research and do not come to
the same conclusion as the mainstream believers, who themselves are divided. The
English translation like the RNKJV that
I use sometime give the Name of our heavenly Father “YHWH”and his understandable for those who give value to the Name
and reject vehemently as I do the words “Lord”
translation from the word “ba’al”. bā´al̀
(בּעל, ba‛al; Βάαλ, Báal, or Βαάλ, Baál): The
Babylonian Belu or Bel, “Lord,” was the title of the supreme god among the
Canaanites. (ISBE)
Same is
with the words “church” and “Christians or Christianity” use by many scholars even among messianic who
acknowledge the Torah as been for believers today. When quoting from these
scholars for “Church” I rather use
the words “Assembly” or the Greek
word “Ekklesia”, for the word “Christian”, I use the term “believers”, “disciples”, even the
Hebrew term “talmidin”.
Last but
not least, I BAN the name “Jesus”, from my vocabulary when even used in
scripture I will remove it in order to insert the Name of our Master Yehoshua!
Today in
the year 2009, in
the Gregorian calendar we start the first day of Succoth, the Feast of Tabernacles during the month September. It
amazes me just because September in the Gregorian calendar is the ninth month
although its name comes from the Latin “Septe”
meaning seven and not nine.
We will go
through scriptures and give our best to understand what Elohim want his people
to know.
This year
the Feats of Succoth fall during September,
they were years when Succoth fall during October. Since the time I gave
myself to walk in the Torah, I never came across evidence concerning the accuracy of the Hebrew calendar we practice
today.
I went
through many web sites, some built with great skill, proclaiming to be the most accurate or even some telling
the reader that if they don’t believe what they assume to be right you are out
of “YHWH Torah”
They are
outside great “Pastors, leaders,
teachers, and even those boasters” who believe to know everything better
and refuse to look at other brothers teaching! All these good people have never
make effort to come to the truth in order to bring a simple and genuine way to
help believers and enable them without depending on their “internet calendar”, to find out the right timing to celebrate the
Feats according to the Torah.
Yehoshua
say: “seek and you will find” (Matt.7:7),
sometime it takes years before we come to the truth. I have experienced it and
I will not offend anybody in the body of Messiah because of all their “garbage" in their self-made
theory, some telling, like I understand today that in order to find out the day
of the first feast of the year, the “Feats
of Unleavened bread” we must look at the barley to be “abib” (in the ear). Some
other groups like the “Karaites”
explain it also to be the “proof” for
the first month of the New Year and that if the Barley is not “abib”, at the time of the New Moon the
Feast must be postponed to the next month.
I kept searching for the convicting way to calculate the First month without internet and without
the “aid” of others.
Tanks to יהוה
I came across one paper wrote by Philip Todd Derstine concerning the “Yovel” year (Jubilee), you will say,
yes but this has nothing to do with the first
month of Unleavened Bread! You’re right, but Philip make use elementary
scholars skill to demonstrate how to know and calculate the “beginning” of the First month.
The Roman
Catholic Church makes use in its satanic calendar of the “solciste” this is the point when the day is either the shortest in
winter or the longest at the end of the spring season. They named these days
ceremonial with the “sun rebirth” and
dated it the 25th of December and called it “Jesus birthday” and the 21st of June been another
satanic feast.
After Constantine , however, the
ekklesia endured a 1600-year hiatus
(break, gape) from feast-keeping (we are obviously excluding the extraneous
pagan festivals of Halloween, Christmas and Easter). The hegemony of the
Catholic Church and its anti-Jewish theology made Sabbath and festival
observance very scarce indeed during the Middle Ages and beyond.(Philipp Todd
Derstine).
Now how do
we come to the accurate calendar?
The right
way to determine the Feast of Unleavened Bread will make the others Feast
accurate or out of יהוה plan of
redemption and thus lead the believers in error, because all others Feast
depend on how we determine the starting of the “Feast of Unleavened Bread”
Philipp
goes on in his explanation (for a the full text write to me and I will send to
you): “when a month begins. Though the ancient Jews had the ability to
pre-calculate lunar conjunctions (the dark phase of the moon, the time when the
moon is directly between the earth and the sun), the Talmud, Philo and other
ancient historical sources prove that early Judaism used the sighting
of the lunar crescent to start the month:[6] There is almost no disagreement among
scholars and historians on this point.”
Philo--Spec. 4:234 Again, are not the periods of the moon,
as she advances and retraces her course, from a crescent
to a full circle, and again, from a complete orb to a crescent, also measured by an
equality of distances?
Philo--Spec. 2:41 The third [festival] is that
which comes after the
conjunction, which happens on the day of the new
moon in each month.
This is
the easiest aspect to comprehend. Yet there are highly intelligent
calendar “experts” out there who will tell you that the Bible has left us no
instruction on the calendar. They say, “The Bible does not address the
issue of how to determine the calendar…The astronomy of the calendar is simply
not written down in the Bible.”[13] But technically this is not
accurate. The Bible
states explicitly when the feast of Sukkot is to occur, and does so in astronomical terms!
Exodus 34:22 says the feast of ingathering (Sukkot or Tabernacles) is to be kept at
the equinox:
You shall
observe…the feast of ingathering at the turn (Heb.= tkufah) of the year.
I will add
the verse from the KJV in order to confirm Philipp statement:
Exo 34:22 and thou shalt observeH6213
the feastH2282 of weeks,H7620 of the firstfruitsH1061 of wheatH2406
harvest,H7105 and the feastH2282 of ingatheringH614 at the year'sH8141 end.H8622
End: Strong’s #H8622 תּקוּפה
teqûphâh tek-oo-faw',
From H5362; a revolution,
that is, (of the sun) course, (of time) lapse: - circuit, come about, end.
This is
what is call “Equinox”
Based on
this, it is easy to see why Philo repeatedly stated that the Passover and
Sukkot occurred AT the equinoxes. That is the way he understood Ex. 34:22.
Philo
Placed the Spring and Fall Feasts AT the Equinoxes
We are
ready now to examine a bellwether of normative Judaism named Philo. a contemporary of Yehoshua.
To establish his credibility with respect to orthodox Judaism of the First
Century, we quote from Alfred Edersheim (himself a 19th C. Jewish
Christian), a major authority on ancient Judaism:
[Philo] was a descendant of Aaron, and belonged to one of the
wealthiest and most influential families among the Jewish merchants-princes of Egypt .
His brother was the political head of the community in Alexandria ;
he himself …represented his co-religionists (in a delegation sent to Rome in 40 AD)…for
protection from the persecutions consequent on the Jewish resistance to placing
statues of the Emperor in their synagogues.[16]
Philo had this to
say about the timing of the two great feasts of Judaism:
Decal.
1:1--the greatest
festivals, those of the longest duration, at the periods of both the vernal and autumnal equinoxes
in each year; appointing two festivals for these two epochs, each lasting
seven days…seven days have very appropriately been appointed to the seventh
month of each equinox…
Spec.
2:204 The last of all the annual festivals is that which is called the Feast of
Tabernacles, having a time at
the autumnal equinox.
Flacc.
1:116. This was the unexampled misfortune which befell Flaccus in the
country of which he was governor, being taken prisoner…at the time of his
[Flaccus’] arrest, it was the general festival of the Jews at the time of the autumnal
equinox, during which it is the custom of the Jews to live in
tents.
Philo
goes on to mention that all
men knew when the equinoxes occurred:
Spec.
4:233 Nature, therefore, has marked out those periods in every
year, which are called the
equinoxes, from the state of things which exists at that time, namely,
the spring and the autumnal equinox, with such distinctness, that even the
most illiterate persons are aware of the equality which then exists
between the extent of the days and of the night.
There is
one more quotation of Philo’s that we wish to explain, since it is cited by
Herb Solinski, who could not ignore its importance to the issue at hand:
Opif.
1:116 The
sun, the ruler of the day, makes two equinoxes every year, both in spring and
autumn. The spring equinox in the constellation Aries (The
Ram), and the autumnal one in Libra(Virgin), gives the most evident
demonstration possible of the divine dignity of the number seven. For each of
the equinoxes takes place in the seventh month (Tishri and
Nisan), and during
them
[the equinoxes] men are expressly commanded by law to celebrate the greatest
and most popular national festivals.
I hope now
that these excerpts from Philipp Todd Derstine, will bring more light in
understanding how to calculate the Feats of יהוה,
in other terms, both Feats, Succoth and The Feats of Unleavened Bread are
determined by the Autumn and Spring Equinox.
You will
still ask, but Brother Daniel when do this “Equinox”
happen? This is a well founded question. The secular scholars will give you
the answer:
Spring Equinox: 21st of March
Autumn Equinox: 22nd of September
This means
that all Feast calendar outside this
date are false and lead sincere believers astray.
As I write
before it is worth to study the biblical way how to establish יהוה
calendar. Philipp did a very good job!
Yehoshua
tells us:
Joh 8:32 and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Once you
know how to calculate on your own the calendar you will be free from man’s
doctrine and falsehood!
Will you also
from now on forget all false man’s doctrine and look on your own for the next
Feast starting with Unleavened Bread, or will you still look in internet for a
new calendar?
Remember
that the first EQUINOX in the year is around March 21st and that the
New moon the first day of the month must
be before the Equinow and Unleavened Bread after the Equinox.
When you
understand that you will never fail to celebrate the Feats of יהוה
at their right time, because you will begin to count from the right place.
Now with
this in mind we will be able to look at the Feast of Succoth, the Feast of
Tabernacle, with the hope that the coming Feats will become a blessing to all
those who Love יהוה with all their heart and
with all their soul.
The Feats
are so important that we should be diligent to study and practice them in our
devotion to follow the footsteps of our Master Yehoshua.
The feast
of Sukkot marks the last step in the
redemption of יהוה’s people in the seventh
month of the Hebrew calendar. This time will be a time of great joy when all
the saints of יהוה will be gathered from the
four winds.
Mat
24:31 “And He shall send His
messengers with a great sound of a
trumpet, and they shall gather together His chosen ones from the four
winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
The Torah
came directly from the mouth of Elohim. The Torah has authority over all
subsequent scriptures. Anything coming after must not contradict it.

●The Torah also called “Law” in English is the
truth:
Psa 119:142 Your righteousness is forever; and Your Torah is
truth.
Psa 119:151 You are near, O יהוה, and all Your commands are truth.
Psa 119:160 The sum of Your word is truth, And all Your
righteous right-rulings are forever.
●The Word, the Torah gives light

●Yehoshua says that the Word is true

in the place which יהוה chooses, because יהוה your Elohim
does bless you in all your increase and in all the work of your hands, and you
shall be only rejoicing!
Yochanan speaks also from the winepress, in another way:
Rev 14:18 And
another messenger came out from the altar, having authority over the fire, and
he cried with a loud cry to him having the sharp sickle, saying, “Send your
sharp sickle and gather the clusters of
the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.”
Rev
14:19 and the messenger thrust his
sickle into the earth and gathered the
vine of the earth, and threw it into
the great winepress of the wrath of Elohim.
Rev
14:20 and the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood came out of
the winepress, up to the bridles of the horses, for about three hundred
kilometres.
● The joy of
tabernacles. Succoth is the most joyous of all יהוה’s
feast, and one that all nations of the world will be commanded to go up to
Yerushalayim to celebrate during the
Messiah’s reign :
Zec 14:16 and
it shall be that all who are left from
all the gentiles (nations) which came up against Yerushalayim, shall go up from
year to year to bow themselves to the Sovereign, יהוה of hosts, and to observe the Festival of Booths
(Succoth).
Zec 14:17 and it shall be, that if anyone of the clans of the earth does not come up
to Yerushalayim to bow himself to the Sovereign, יהוה of hosts,
on them there is to be no rain.
Zec 14:18 and if the clan of Mitsrayim does not come up and enter in, then there is
no rain. On them is the plague
with which יהוה plagues the gentiles (nations) who do not come up to observe
the Festival of Booths.
Zec 14:19 This is the punishment of Mitsrayim and the punishment of all the gentile
(nations) that do not come up to observe the Festival of Booths.
The King James Version give us more details concerning the “gentile nations”

First of all we see that the KJV
mention the word “Family” which is
right according to the Hebrew word “mishpâchâh”. The feast of Succoth is for
all Families.
Further to remove
confusion I have mark the words “heathen”
and “nations” (Goyim), which according to
Strong’s dictionary have the same Hebrew word “goy” singular also use for “nation”. Thus when reading you
should be able to use “nations” instead of “gentile” that in my eyes is very confusing.
Succoth is associated both with the messianic age and the “Olam Haba”, eternal life.
Succoth is called the feast of Living water, based on this verse
from ZechariYahu:14:8 And in that day it shall be that living waters flow from Yerushalayim1, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them
toward the western sea, in summer as well as in winter.
In the
context of verses 16-21:
Succoth
related messianic references in the Brit Chadasha (N.T.): Matt. 17, we are told
Kefa (Peter) offering to build “booth” (Succoth in Hebrew) when Yehoshua stand
with Moshe and EliYahu.
Mat 17:4 Then answered Kepha, and said unto Yehoshua, My master, it is good for
us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one
for thee, and one for Moses, and one for EliYah.
We also see
people laying out palm branches (Hebrew lulav) before Yehoshua on his entry
into Yerushalayim.
The book of Revelation makes also allusion to Succoth:
The book of Revelation makes also allusion to Succoth:
Rev
7:9 After this I looked and saw a
great crowd which no one was able to count, out of all nations and tribes and
peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in
white robes, and palm branches in their
hands,
Rev
7:17 because the Lamb who is in
the midst of the throne shall shepherd them and lead them to fountains of waters of life. And Elohim shall wipe
away every tear from their eyes.”
Succoth is
celebrated for seven days. However in Vayikra 23:26 it is mentioned: This extra
day is called in Hebrew “Shemini Atzeret (the eight conclusion), a picture of
eternity. It represents the “Olam Haba”
(world to come) the time after the Millennium reign of Messiah.
At the end
of the seven days of the Succoth feast, the holiday of Shimsha Torah (joy of
the Torah) takes places, when the last portion of the Torah is read according
to tradition.
We can read
in the book of Yochanan:
Joh 7:2 and
the festival of the Yehuḏim was near, the Festival of Booths.
Joh 7:10 but
when His brothers had gone up to the festival, then He also went up, not
openly, but as it were in secret.
Joh 7:14 and
about the middle of the festival יהושע went up into the Set-apart
Place , and He was teaching.
Joh 7:37 and
on the last day the great day
of the festival, יהושע stood and
cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me, and let him who believes in Me drink.
Commentary
from Jamiesson, Fausset and Brown and
from Albert barnes:
the last day, that
great day of the feast — the eighth (Lev_23:39). It was a sabbath, the last feast day of the year, and
distinguished by very remarkable ceremonies. “The generally joyous character of
this feast broke out on this day into loud jubilation, particularly at the
solemn moment when the priest, as was done on every day of this festival, brought forth, in golden vessels, water
from the stream of Siloah, which flowed under the temple-mountain, and
solemnly poured it upon the altar. Then the words of Isa_12:3 were sung, “With
joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of Salvation”, and thus the
symbolical reference of this act, intimated in Joh_7:39,
was expressed” [Olshausen]. So ecstatic was the joy with which this ceremony
was performed - accompanied with sound of trumpets - that it used to be said,
“Whoever had not witnessed it had never seen rejoicing at all” [Lightfoot].
In the last day - The eighth day of the
festival.
That great day - The
day of the holy convocation or solemn assembly, Lev_23:36.
This seems to have been called the great
day:
1. because of the solemn assembly, and
because it was the closing scene.
2. because, according to their traditions,
on the previous days they offered sacrifices for the pagan nations as well as
for themselves, but on this day for the Jews only (Lightfoot).
3. because on this day they abstained from
all servile labor Lev_23:39, and
regarded it as a holy day.
4. On
this day they finished the reading of the law, which they commenced at the
beginning of the feast.
5. because on this day probably occurred
the ceremony of drawing water from the pool of Siloam.
On the last day of
the feast it was customary to perform a solemn ceremony in this manner: The
priest filled a golden vial with water from the fount of Siloam (see the notes
at Joh_9:7), which was borne with great
solemnity, attended with the clangor of trumpets, through the gate of the
temple, and being mixed with wine, was poured on the sacrifice on the altar.
What was the origin of this custom is unknown. Some suppose, and not
improbably, that it arose from an improper understanding of the passage in Isa_12:3; “With joy shall ye draw water out of
the wells of salvation.” It is certain that no such ceremony is commanded by Moses. It is supposed to be probable that
Yehoshua stood and cried while they were performing this ceremony, that he
might:
1. illustrate the nature of his doctrine
by this; and,
2. call off their attention
from a rite that was not commanded, and that
could not confer eternal life.
Yehoshua used
the tradition of the Pharisee to draw back the attention of the people to the
real intention of יהוה words we must recall that at this time Israel and
Yerushalayim were infected by the polluted doctrine of the Pharisee. Yehoshua
came to restore the truth.
Succoth is
closely linked to the gentiles (nations) salvation as seen in the sacrifice of
the seventy bulls as written in:
Num 29:12 ‘And
on the fifteenth day of the seventh
month you have a set-apart gathering, you do no servile work. And you shall
observe a festival to יהוה seven days,
Num 29:13 and you shall bring near a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a
sweet fragrance to יהוה: thirteen young bulls,
two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect ones they are,
Num 29:14 and their grain offering: fine flour mixed with oil, three-tenths of an ĕphah for each of the thirteen
bulls, two-tenths for each of the two rams,
Num 29:15 and one-tenth for each of the fourteen lambs,
Num 29:16 and one male goat as a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering,
its grain offering, and its drink offering.
Num 29:17 ‘Then on the second day: twelve
young bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect ones,
Num 29:18 and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the
rams, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the right-ruling,
Num 29:19 and one male goat as a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering
with its grain offering, and their drink offerings.
Num 29:20 ‘And on the third day eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs
a year old, perfect ones,
Num 29:21 and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the
rams, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the right-ruling,
Num 29:22 and one goat as a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering, its
grain offering, and its drink offering.
Num 29:23 ‘Then on the fourth day: ten bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a
year old, perfect ones,
Num 29:24 and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the
rams, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the right-ruling,
Num 29:25 and one male goat as a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering,
its grain offering, and its drink offering.
Num 29:26 ‘Then on the fifth day: nine bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a
year old, perfect ones,
Num 29:27 and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the
rams, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the right-ruling,
Num 29:28 and one goat as a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering, its
grain offering, and its drink offering.
Num 29:29 ‘Then on the sixth day: eight bulls,
two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect ones,
Num 29:30 and their grain offering and their drink offerings for the bulls, for the
rams, and for the lambs, by their number, according to the right-ruling,
Num 29:31 and one goat as a sin offering, besides the continual burnt offering, its
grain offering, and its drink offering.
Num 29:32 ‘Then on the seventh day: seven bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a
year old, perfect ones,
In the Hebrew “gemetria” it is
interesting to see the repartition of the bulls’ sacrifices
The First day thirteen bulls are sacrificed!
Thirteen is the number for rebellion according to
B’reshit 14:4 Gen 14:4 Twelve
years they served Keḏorlaʽomer, and in
the thirteenth year they rebelled.
The last day of the sacrifices during the feast, seven bulls are
sacrificed. Seven is the number for divine perfection on earth. For יהוה
rested
on the seventh day! We can see more concerning the number in my midrash on “The
Torah and the numbers”
The
sacrifices of the seventy bulls is linked to the seventy nations descendant of
Noach trough his sons, Ham, Japthet and Shem.(B’reshit chapter 10).
Zecha.14
states that in the millennium, gentiles (goy in Hebrew, meaning nations) will come to Yerushalyim during
Succoth and those who will not come will be punished (Zech. 14:9-19).
Hints of
Gentiles (Goy, nations) salvation are found throughout the Tanak:
B’reshit/Gensis: 12;3, 18:14, 22:18, 26:4
Gen 12:3 “And
I shall bless those who bless you, and curse him who curses you. and in you all
the clans (nations) of the earth shall be blessed.”
Gen 18:14 “Is
any matter too hard for יהוה? At the
appointed time I am going to return to you, according to the time of life, and
Sarah is to have a son.”
Gen 22:18 “And
in your seed all the nations (Goy) of the earth shall be blessed, because you
have obeyed My voice.”
26:4 “And
I shall increase your seed like the stars of the heavens, and I shall give all
these lands to your seed. and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall
be blessed,
Isa 45:23 “I have sworn by Myself, a word has gone out of My mouth in
righteousness, and shall not return, so that
to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue swear.
Isa 54:1 “Sing, O barren one, you who did not bear! Break forth into singing,
and cry aloud, you who have not been in labour! For the children of the
deserted one are more than the children of the married woman,” said יהוה. (They are The House of Israel
and the House of Yehudah), as we saw Leah the first wife of Ya’acov been
fruitful and Rah’el (Rachel) been barren until יהוה
open her womb. Later the children of Rachel, Yosef with
his children Manasseh and Ephraim became the fullness of the nations, known as the “House of Israel”.
Gen 29:31 and יהוה saw that Lĕ’ah was unloved, and He opened her womb,
but Raḥĕl was barren.
Gen 30:19 and Lĕ’ah conceived again
and bore Yaʽaqoḇ a sixth son.
Gen
30:22 and Elohim remembered Raḥĕl, and Elohim listened to her and opened her
womb.
Gen
30:23 and she conceived, and bore a son, and said, “Elohim has taken away my
reproach.”
Gen
30:24 so she called his name Yosĕph, and said, “יהוה has added to me another son.”
Keil and Delitzsch give following explanation on
YeshaYahu 54:1 The words are addressed to
Jerusalem, which was a counterpart of Sarah in her barrenness at first, and her
fruitfulness afterwards (Isa_41:1-3). She is not תֵלֵד לֹא עֲקָרָה (Job_24:21),
but יָלָדָה לֹא עֲקָרָה (Jdg_13:2);
not indeed that she had never had any children, but during her captivity and
exile she had been robbed of her children, and as a holy city had given birth
to no more (Isa_49:21). She was shōmēmâh, rendered solitary (2Sa_13:20;
the allusion is to her depopulation as a city), whereas formerly she was בְּעוּלָה, i.e.,
enjoyed the fellowship of Jehovah her husband. But this condition would not
last (for Jehovah had not given her a divorce): she was therefore to exult and
shout, since the number of children which she would now have, as one desolate
and solitary, would be greater than the number of those which she had as a
married wife.
Isa 54:2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains
of your dwellings, spare not. Lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.
Isa 54:3 “For you shall break forth to the right and to the left, and your seed inherit the nations, and make
the deserted cities inhabited.
The seed is Messiah as it is written:
Psa 2:7 “I
inscribe for a law: יהוה has said to
Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have brought You forth.
Psa 2:8 ‘Ask of Me, and I make the gentiles (nations) Your inheritance, and the
ends of the earth Your possession.
Isa 49:6 and
He says, “Shall it be a small matter
for You to be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Yaʽaqoḇ, and to bring back
the preserved ones of Yisra’ĕl? And I shall give You as a light ( Yehoshua) to
the gentiles(Goy, nations), to be My deliverance to the ends of the earth!”
Isa 60:1 “Arise, shine, for your light ( Yehoshua) has come! And the esteem of יהוה has risen upon you.
Isa 60:2 “For look, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness the peoples. But יהוה arises over
you, and His esteem is seen upon you.
Isa 60:3 “And the gentiles (nations) shall come to your light
(Yehoshua)1, and sovereigns to the brightness of your rising.
Amo 9:11 “In that day I shall raise up the booth of Dawiḏ
which has fallen down. And I shall repair its breaches and raises up its ruins.
And I shall build it as in the days of old,
“I shall raise up the booth, Succath of David
which has fallen dawn, and I shall repai the breaches and raise up its
ruins………………
The opinion
as concerning the “booth” and the “breaches” are many among scholars. It
is of interest to mention that it is only during the reign of King David and
after him his son Sh’lomo that the all house of Ya’acov was united. When seeing
this fact it will help us to understand the word from the prophet Amos, who was
sent to “Israel ” the all house:
Amo 1:1 The words of Amos, who was among the herdman of Tekoa, which he saw
concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah
king of Judah, and in the days of
Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
This make
Amos prophecy been around 760 B.C. and therefore during the split of both
kingdom, but before Ephraim was sent into exile.

Atzereth
Deu 14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the
increase of thy seed, that the
field bringeth forth year by year....
Deu 14:29 and the Levite, (because he hath no part
nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the

hands which thou doest.

shall not appear before YHWH empty:
Deu 16:17 Every man shall

given thee.
By far the most prominent of these is the number 7, which is referred to
in one way or another in nearly 600 passages in the Bible, as well as in many
passages in the Apocrypha and the Pseudepigrapha, and later Jewish literature.
Of course the number has its usual numerical force in many of these places, but
even there not seldom with a glance at its symbolic significance. The Biblical
use of 7 may be conveniently considered under 4 heads: (1) ritual use; (2)
historical use; (3) didactic or literary use; (4) apocalyptic use.(ISBE)
The Number Eight (Shemini), the number that point behind the natural:
1Pe 3:20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of YHWH
waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that
is, eight souls were saved by water.
Gen 17:12 and he that is eight days
old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he
that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not
of thy seed.
Gen 21:4 and Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as Elohim
had commanded him.
Num 35:7 So all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and
eight (8x6) cities: them shall ye
give with their suburbs.
Jdg 3:8 Therefore the anger of YHWH was hot against Israel ,
and he sold them into the hand of Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and
the children of Israel
served Chushan-rishathaim eight
years.
1Sa 17:12 Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehemjudah, whose name
was Jesse; and he had eight sons:
and the man went among men for an old man in the days of Saul.
Luk 2:21 and when eight days were
accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Yehoshua,
which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
Luk 9:28 and it came to pass about an eight
days after these sayings, he took Kepha and John and James, and went up into a
mountain to pray.
Joh 20:26 and after eight days again
his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Yehoshua, the doors
being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
Where does the terms “shemini atzeeth” comes from? Tradition:” The rabbis interpreted this verse to mean that Elohim asks all who made a
pilgrimage for Sukkot to tarry (atzeret, which comes from the Hebrew root word meaning "to hold
back") with Him one additional day. From this, the rabbis concluded that Shemini Atzeret is an independent festival (Eddie
Chemney).
Let us now
look at the Torah:
Num 29:35 On the eighth day ye shall
have a solemn assembly: ye shall do
no servile work therein: (RNKJV)
Num 29:35 On the eighthH8066 dayH3117
ye shall haveH1961 a solemn assembly:H6116 ye shall doH6213
noH3808 H3605 servileH5656 workH4399
Eight:
Strong’s #H8066 שׁמיני shemı̂ynı̂y shem-ee-nee' From H8083; eight: - eight.
Solemn assembly: Strong’s #H6116 עצרת ‛ătseret, ats-eh'-reth
From H6113; an assembly, especially on a festival or holiday: - (solemn)
assembly (meeting).
So we can
summarize “ Shemini Atzeret” the “Solemn assembly in the eight day” the
day following the feast of Succoth that brings conclusion to the fall feast
starting with the “New moon” (Rosch
Chodesh) from the seventh month. This is the real meaning. Tradition has
add many others meaning and Eddie Chemney give it in details which you can read
hereafter. Now the number eight represent also something special.
According
to the “sod” the “mystery” of the Torah we know that the earth as it is now will
last for 6000 years and after this period we will enter the “Millennium reign of Messiah”
represented by the number “seven” that
stand for the day of rest, the “Shabbat”.
Psa 90:4 for a thousand years in thy
sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
2Pe 3:8 but, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with YHWH as a thousand years,
and a thousand years as one day.
Six days or six thousand years the time of man
on earth
The seventh day or one thousand years the “Millennium reign of Messiah”
The eight day, “Olam Haba”, the world to come or Eternity.
Rev 5:10 and hast made us unto our Elohim kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Rev 20:4 and I
saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I
saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yehoshua, and for
the word of YHWH, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image,
neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Messiah a thousand
years.
2Ti 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also
obtain the salvation which is in Yehoshua the Messiah with eternal glory.
2Ti 2:11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live
with him:
2Ti 2:12 If we suffer,
we shall also reign with him: if we deny him,
he also will deny us:
Mat 25:33 and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the
left.
Mat
25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,
Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit
the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Dan 12:2 and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to
shame and everlasting contempt.
It is
amazing that the last Feast called “Succoth”,
the Feast of Tabernacles end the Feats of יהוה
while it is during the Exodus from Egypt,
that the Children of Israel experienced the life in temporary dwelling
place in the wilderness just before they could enter the promise land!
Succoth,
also call “booth”, “tent” a temporary
dwelling place that indicate that man’s life on earth is a journey designed to
lead to a better place the “Olam Haba”,
the “World to come”.
2Co 5:1 for we know that if our earthly
house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of Elohim, an
house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2Co 5:4 for we that are in this
tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed,
but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.(RNKJV)
2Co 5:4 for indeed, we who are in this
tent groan, being burdened, not because we wish to put it off, but to put
on the other, so that what is
to die might be swallowed up by life.(Scriptures 1998)
2Pe 1:14 knowing that shortly I must put
off this my tabernacle, even as our Master Yehoshua the Messiah hath shewed
me.
Rev 21:3 and I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle
of YHWH is with men, and he will dwell
with them, and they shall be his people, and YHWH himself shall be with
them, and be their Elohim.
At first
reading the verse from Revelation has noting to do with the other verses. By
looking closer we will see that they are all directly connected.
In the
Greek translation we read for Corinthians, Kefa (Peter) and Revelation that one
and the same word is used:

Strong’s G4633:
skēnē
skay-nay' Apparently akin to G4632
and G4639; a tent or cloth hut (literally or figuratively): - habitation, tabernacle.
Strong’s G4638: skēnōma skay'-no-mah From G4637; an encampment, that is,
(figuratively) the Temple
(as God’s residence), the body
(as a tenement for the soul): - tabernacle.
Strong’s G4636: skēnos skay'-nos From G4633; a hut or temporary residence, that is, (figuratively) the human body (as the abode of the spirit): - tabernacle.
Now we see
that this tabernacle representing the
human body is a temporary dwelling place and that at the End of the ages during
the Olam Haba, Elohim will dwell
among His people.
A beautiful
truth reveal by Apostle Sha’ul which many have overlook and therefore keep
going in their assumption that Messiah is Elohim the Father, but read
attentively then you will know that Yehoshua never pretended to take the place
of the Father. I have put in blue a help to
avoid confusion:
1Co 15:22 for as in Adam all die, even so in the Messiah shall all be made alive.
1Co
15:23 but every man
in his own order: the Messiah the
firstfruits; afterward they that are
the Messiah's at his coming.
1Co
15:24 then cometh the end (Olam
Haba), when he (Yehoshua) shall have delivered up the kingdom to
YHWH, even the Father; when he (the Father)
shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co
15:25 for he (Yahsuhua) must
reign, till he (the Father) hath put all
enemies under his (Yehoshua) feet.
1Co
15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1Co
15:27 for he (the Father)
hath put all things under his feet (Yehoshua).
But when he saith, all things are put under him (Yehoshua),
it is manifest that he (the Father) is excepted
which did put all things under him (Yehoshua).
1Co
15:28 and when all things shall be subdued unto him (Yehoshua), then
shall the Son (Yehoshua) also himself be subject unto him (the Father) that put all things under him, that YHWH
may be all in all.
Something special during Succoth.
Beside the
fact that Succoth is the last Feast in the year it is also the end of a cycle
which bring blessing and great joy:
Deu 16:13 Thou shalt observe the feast of
tabernacles seven days, after
that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:
Deu
16:14 and thou shalt
rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy
manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the
fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.
The corn
was an allusion to the spring’s feast for the Barley and the wheat growing in
the beginning of the year in the early to the middle of spring.
What is the
difference between the spring harvest and the fall harvest?
During
spring harvest we see that corn will be gathered. Corn are used to make bread
and other useful nutriments they are seldom used in their natural form, even if
we know that Yehoshua and his disciples were eating some of them, but it was
not the usual way to eat corn, they had to be crushed and grounded into flour
to be used.
Between the reaping of the
barley in April and the wheat in June, most of the other cereals are
reaped.(ISBE)
Not so the
Autumnal harvest just before Succoth which bring forth fruits in their final
form and can be directly eaten especially the fruits of the wine, which is a
picture of the last believers before the second advent of Messiah, while the
grain harvest during spring is a picture of the first believers who came to
Messiah and died in order to produce!
The Spring Harvest
Joh 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold,
I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
Messiah the First fruit:
1Co 15:20 but now is the Messiah risen from the dead, and become the first-fruits of them that slept.
The Early believers (spring) called first fruits
Rom 16:5 Likewise
greet the assembly that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who
is the first-fruits of Achaia unto the
Messiah.
Jas 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
The Fall Harvest
Rev 14:15 and another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to
him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come
for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
Rev
14:16 and he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on
the earth; and the earth was reaped.
Rev
14:17 and another angel came out of the temple which is in
heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
Rev
14:18 and another angel came out from
the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had
the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully
ripe.
Rev
14:19 and the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and
gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the
wrath of YHWH.
Rev
14:20 and the winepress was trodden without the city, and
blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a
thousand and six hundred furlongs.
The wine a picture of Israel
Isa 5:1 Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a
vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
Isa 5:2 and he fenced it, and
gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and
built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he
looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
Isa
5:7
for the
vineyard of YHWH of hosts is the house of Israel ,
and the men of Judah
his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for
righteousness, but behold a cry.
Succoth Additional
from Eddie Chemney
From Yom
Kippur to Succoth, not coincidently, the same time period marks the beginning
of the construction of Elohim’s Succoth, the Miskhan, the sanctuary in the
wilderness
Exo 25:8 “And
they shall make Me a Set-apart
Place , and I shall dwell in their midst.
Exo 25:9 “According to all that I show you – the pattern of
the Dwelling Place and the pattern of all its furnishings – make it exactly so.
When Moshe
came down from Mount Sinai with the second set of tablets and according to
tradition descended on Yom Kippur, it was seen as a sign of Elohim’s
forgiveness of Israel for
the sin of the golden calf and as a symbol of the lasting covenant between
Elohim and Israel
Exo 24:12 And יהוה said to Mosheh, “Come up to Me on the mountain and be
there, while I give you tablets of stone, and the Torah and the command which I
have written, to teach them.” ...
Exo 24:18 aAnd Mosheh went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the
mountain. And it came to be that Mosheh was on the mountain forty days and
forty nights.
Exo
34:1 and יהוה said to Mosheh, “Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones,
and I shall write on these tablets the Words that were on the first tablets
which you broke.
Exo 34:2 “and be ready in the morning. Then you shall come up in the morning to Mount Sinai , and present yourself to Me there on the top
of the mountain.
Exo
34:27 and יהוה said to Mosheh, “Write these Words, for according to the mouth
of these Words I have made a covenant with you and with Yisra’ĕl.”
Exo 34:28 and he was there with יהוה forty days and forty nights. He did not eat bread and he did
not drink water. And He wrote on the tablets the Words of the covenant, the Ten
Words.
Following
day, Moshe relayed Elohim’s instruction for building the “Mishkan”, a dwelling
place. Material for this portable structure was collected during the days
before Succoth and work was started on it. (Sh’mot chapter 35, 36:1-7).
Why was the
mishkan built? The Torah says: “let them make Me a sanctuary that I may dwell
among them. Sh’mot 25:8, to establish the relationship between Elohim and Israel .
Elohim would dwell among His people.
This
physical tabernacle was given by Elohim to teach and instruct us that he
desires to live and dwell with His people, by means of the Ruach HaQodesh.

Historically
Succoth commemorates the day in the wilderness of Sinai; after coming out of
Mitzrayim (Egypt ).
According the natural laws, the children of Israel should have perished, but
were instead divinely protected by Elohim.
Succoth or
booth, symbolizes man’s need to depend upon Elohim for his provision of food,
water and shelter.
The booth
is a physical body which is a temporary dwelling place for our soul and spirit
1Co
6:19 Or do you not know that your
body is the Dwelling Place of the Set-apart Spirit (Ruach HaQodesh)who is in
you, which you have from Elohim, and you are not your own?
1Co 6:20 For you were bought with a price, therefore esteem Elohim in your body and in your spirit
(Ruach),1 which are of Elohim. Footnote:
1See 7:23, 1 Peter 1:18-19.
2Pe 1:14 knowing that the putting off of my tent (booth, tabernacle) is soon, even as our Master יהושע Messiah made clear to me.
We need the
washing that the word of Elohim brings to our lives
Eph 5:26 in order to set it apart and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word,
and the
shelter of Elohim’s if se seek him first
Mat
6:31 “Do not worry then, saying,
‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
Mat 6:32 “For all these the gentiles (Goy, nations) seek for.
And your heavenly Father knows that you need all these.
Mat 6:33 “But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His
righteousness, and all these matters
shall be added to you.
The divine order declares that after judgment (Yom Kippur), comes
Succoth
Isa
4:4 When יהוה has washed away the filth of the daughters of Tsiyon,
and rinsed away the blood of Yerushalayim from her midst, by the spirit of
judgment and by the spirit of burning,
Isa 4:5 then יהוה shall create above every dwelling place of Mount Tsiyon, and
above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming
fire by night, for over all the esteem shall be a covering,
Isa 4:6 and a booth for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge,
and for a shelter from storm and rain.
The commandment to rejoice at this time is given in:
Deu
16:13 “Perform the Festival of
Booths for seven days after the ingathering from your threshing-floor and from
your winepress,
Deu
16:14 and you shall rejoice in your
festival, you and your son and your daughter, and your male servant and your
female servant, and the Lĕwite, and the stranger and the fatherless and the
widow who are within your gates.
Deu
16:15 “For seven days you shall
observe a festival to יהוה your Elohim
in the place which יהוה chooses, because יהוה your Elohim does bless you in all your increase and in all the
work of your hands, and you shall be only rejoicing!
Daniel added: We can see the clear connection between
rejoicing in the natural and the spiritual. The children of Israel (carnal
man) were to rejoice “after the ingathering from the threshing floor (grain) and
from the winepress (grapes)”
This mean the harvest was abundant great blessing because
of obedience to יהוה’s
Torah. This foreshadows the ingathering of the last harvest at Yom Kippur when
Messiah will come to judge the nations. The Believers will rejoice because for
those who are in Messiah this will be the time of “ingathering”.
The First harvest was after Yehoshua’s departure to the
Father at Shavuot/Pentecost during the time of the Apostles. They were called
“First Fruits” which is represented by the harvest of the barley and the wheat.
Today our rejoicing is the rehearsal for what is to come.
We should always remember that the end is like the beginning. (Eccl. 1:9)
Further with Eddie:
The scriptures tell us that the “Word” became flesh: Yochanan 1:14.
יהוה presence
was demonstrated by Yehoshua during his first coming.
Yeshayahu 4:2 speaks of the fruits of the earth and those who have
escaped. Succoth is known as the festival of ingathering and the fruit harvest.
Isa 4:2 In that day the Branch (Yehoshua) of יהוה shall be splendid and esteemed. And the fruit of the
earth shall be excellent and comely for the escaped
ones1 of Yisra’ĕl.
In Revelation 7:9-17 we can see those who have come through the great
tribulation period, and who become part of Elohim’s people during this time
period.
We have here a picture of the apostate “church” repenting during the
tribulation.
Rev. 7:15 they “dwell” with them.
The Greek word is “skenos” tabernacle, booth, shelter, or covering.
Rev. 7:15 they “dwell” with them.

This word is used in Yochanan 1:14, speaking of Yehoshua dwelling among
us at his first coming.
Notice, the protection provided in Rev. 7:16 correspond to YeshaYahu

Tsiyon, and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a
flaming fire by night, for over all the esteem shall be a covering,
Isa 4:6 and a booth for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge,
and for a shelter from storm and rain.
And the fountain of living water in Revelation 7:17 and 21:4 in
YeshaYahu 4:3. Those who are called Qadosh, Holy, are the same people as in
Zech. 14:20.
The Hebrew word for tabernacle is Sukkath. It means: booth, a pavilion
or tent. The Greek word is “skene” which has the same meaning as the greek word
“skaynos”.
let’s look how it is used in the Brit Chadasha.
let’s look how it is used in the Brit Chadasha.
- Yehoshua tabernacled
(Succoth) among us (Yochanan 1:14)
- Kefa spoke about his
body been a tent (booth) 2nd Kefa 1:13-14
- The Apostle Shaul told us
that earthly bodies are earthly house or tabernacle (2nd Cor.5:1-5)
- The tabernacle of Moshe was
a tent of habitation (Acts 7:14, heb.9:2-8)
- Abraham, Isaac, Ya’acov
lived in tabernacles, tents (Heb.11:8-9);
- The tabernacle of David was
a tent of dwelling place (Acts 15:16, Amos 9:11)
- Yehoshua entered the temple
on the feast of Succoth (Yochanan 7:2, 27-29).
- The scriptures speaks of a

Prophetically the tabernacle points toward the future, the messianic age
and the world to come (Olam aba) when Yahuwah will dwell among His people.

Succoth as like the other feast has an agricultural element; which is
the final ingathering of harvest products before the coming winter. It is
called in Hebrew “Hag Ha Asif” the feast of ingathering at the end of the year.
Exo
23:16 and the Festival of the
Harvest, the first-fruits of your labours which you have sown in the field; and
the Festival of the Ingathering at the outgoing of the year, when you have
gathered in the fruit of your labours from the field.
Succoth is the time when the produce of the field, nuts and vineyard are
harvested, and brought to the warehouse or storeroom for grain
Threshing floor, wine and olive presses are full to capacity. Weeks and
months of toil and sweat put into the
soil have been rewarded. The farmers feel happy (Malachi 3:10-11) and rejoice.
-
Hachnasat Orechim. The Mitzvat
(commandment) of hospitality. There is a tradition in Judaism of inviting
(ushpizin), symbolic guest each day to join the family in the sukkath. These
honorary guests are Abraham, Isaac, Ya’acov, Yaseph, Moshe, Aaron, and David.
One is invited each day.

Halacha: Succoth is called the
feast of ingathering. Yehoshua told us that the harvest represent the end of
the age (Olam Azeh)
Mat
13:39 and the enemy who sowed them
is the devil. And the harvest is the end
of the age, and the reapers are the messengers.
Rev
14:15 And another messenger came
out of the Dwelling Place, crying with a loud voice to the One sitting on the
cloud, “Send Your sickle and reap, because the hour has come for You to reap,
because the harvest of the earth is ripe.”
Joe
3:13 “Put in the sickle, for the
harvest has grown ripe. Come, go down, for the winepress is filled, the vats
overflow, for their evil is great.”
The harvest refers to people have accepted Messiah and live.
Mat
9:35 And יהושע went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their
congregations, and proclaiming the Good News of the reign, and healing every
disease and every bodily weakness among the people.
Mat 9:36 and having seen the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because
they were weary and scattered, as sheep having no shepherd.
Mat 9:37 Then He said to His taught ones (talmidin, disciples), “The harvest truly
is great, but the workers are few.
Mat 9:38 “Pray then that the Master of the harvest would send out workers to His
harvest.”
Luk
10:1 And after this the Master appointed seventy
others, and sent them two by two ahead of Him into every city and place where
He Himself was about to go.
Luk 10:2 Then He said to them, “The harvest indeed is great,
but the workers are few, therefore pray the Master of the harvest to send out
workers into His harvest.
Joh
4:35 “Do you not say, ‘There are
still four months (Daniel added: the four month are between
Shavuot/Pentecost and Yom Kippur), and
the harvest (This is the last harvest after Yom Kippur before the Feats of
Succoth) comes’? See, I say to you, lift
up your eyes and see the fields, for they are white for harvest – already!
Joh 4:36 “He who is reaping receives a reward, and gathers
fruit for everlasting life, so that both he who is sowing and he who is reaping
rejoice together.
Joh 4:37 “For in this the word is true, ‘One sows and another
reaps.’
Joh 4:38 “I sent you to reap that for which you have not
laboured. Others ( Daniel added: The prophets)
have laboured, and you have entered into their labours.”
Rev
14:14 And I looked and saw a white
cloud, and sitting on the cloud was One like the Son of Aḏam, having on His
head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.
Rev
14:15 And another messenger came
out of the Dwelling Place, crying with a loud voice to the One sitting on the
cloud, “Send Your sickle and reap, because the hour has come for You to reap,
because the harvest of the earth is ripe.”
Rev
14:16 and the One sitting on the
cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
Rev
14:17 and another messenger came
out of the Dwelling Place which is in the heaven, and he too held a sharp
sickle.
Rev
14:18 And another messenger came
out from the altar, having authority over the fire, and he cried with a loud
cry to him having the sharp sickle, saying, “Send your sharp sickle and gather
the clusters of the vine of the earth, because her grapes are ripe.”
Daniel added: We see that there are two different actions between verses
14-16 and the verse 17-18. They are two groups of people who are “harvested”.
The one for everlasting life ‘verses14-16, the other for the wrath of Elohim
verses17-18.
Elohim is gathering both Yahudah and Ephraim and those of the nations
who accept Messiah and have become partaker of the household of Elohim
(Ephesians 2:19)
Most of people on the earth have not accepted Messiah as saviour and are
in the valley of decision
Joe
3:13 “Put in the sickle, for the
harvest has grown ripe. Come, go down, for the
winepress is filled, the vats overflow, for their evil is great.”
Joe 3:14 Crowds, crowds in the valley of decision! For the day
of יהוה is near in
the valley of decision.
●Feast of dedication Sh’lomo dedicated the Temple (Beit HaMikdash) during Succoth (1st King 3).
●Feast of nations. Succoth will be celebrated during the millennium, the
messianic age: Zechar. 14:16-18. Elohim promised in B’reshit 12:3 that all
families of the earth should be blessed through Abraham’s seed. From Abraham,
Elohim would raise people, Israel
to be a blessing to the nation. That promise was fulfilled through Yehoshua as
Messiah as it is stated in Galatian
Gal 3:14 in order that the blessing of
Aḇraham might come upon the nations in Messiah יהושע, to receive the promise of the Spirit through belief.
Gal 3:16 But the promises were spoken
to Aḇraham, and to his Seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but
as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Messiah.
Gal 3:19 Why, then, the Torah? It was
added because of transgressions, until the Seed should come to whom the promise
was made. And it was ordained through messengers in the hand of a mediator.
The greatest evangelism in history will be by the 144 000 anointed
ones from the tribes of Israel
proclaiming the gospel (bazaar) of the Kingdom of heaven.
Rev
14:1 And I looked and saw a Lamb standing on Mount
Tsiyon, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s Name1 written upon their
foreheads. Footnote: 1Some texts read:
having His Name and His Father’s Name....
Rev 14:4 they are those who were not defiled with women, for
they are maidens (Daniel: virgin, Shaul speaking to the believers in Corinth read:2Co 11:2
For I am jealous for you with a jealousy according to Elohim. For I gave you in
marriage to one husband to present you as an innocent maiden/virgin to Messiah.
This was coming from Vaiyqra Lev 21:10 ‘And the high priest (Yehoshua) among his brothers, on whose head the
anointing oil was poured and who is ordained to wear the garments………Lev 21:13 and he shall take a wife in her
virginity).
Rev.14:4….They are
those following the Lamb wherever He leads
them on. They were redeemed from among men, being first-fruits to Elohim and to
the Lamb. ..
Rev 14:7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear Elohim and give
esteem (Glopry) to Him, because the hour of His judgment (Yom Kippur) has come.
And worship Him who made the heaven and the earth, and sea, and fountains of
water.”
A mysterious pattern is given in
Badmidbar 29:12-35 with the sacrifices of the seventy bullocks during the week
of Succoth.
Seventy Bullocks were offered on the altar. The connection of the
seventy bullocks to the seventy nations is taken from D’varim, 32:8, B’reshit
46:27 and Sh’mot 1:1-5.
Once again the association of the nations of the world to Succoth is
found in Zechar. 14:16-19.
Another fascinating thing about the sacrifices during Succoth is that
the offerings when grouped or counted, their number always remain divisible by
seven.
During the week they are 182 sacrifices (70 bullocks, 14 rams, 98
lambs,). 182 divided by seven is 26.
Rabbi Ed Needle gives this detail the gemetria for the Tetragramaton
YHWH is 26. yod 10, He 5, vav 6, He 5, equal: 26
The Gemetria for Ya’acov is 182.
The number 182 is 26 X 7.
The number 7 indicate divine perfection on earth (B’reshit 2:1-2) It is
the final “tikkun”, restauration of all things as it is written in Acts
Act
3:20 and that He sends יהושע Messiah, pre-appointed for you,
Act 3:21 whom heaven needs to receive until the times of restoration of all matters, of which Elohim spoke
through the mouth of all His set-apart prophets since of old.
Hoshana
Rabbah the Eight day
The
Great salvation
It is the eight day of the feast of the tabernacles. It has some spiritual
rituals and custom, that makes the day more like a full festival day.
Lev
23:36 ‘For seven days you bring an
offering made by fire to יהוה. On the eighth day
there shall be a set-apart gathering for you, and you shall bring an offering
made by fire to יהוה. It is a closing festival, you do no servile work.
The most important are:
The circling of the altar
seven times instead of once while carrying the four species and reciting the
Hoshana prayer (Judaism tradition)
The beating of willow which sound like the wind
(Ruach/spirit) an image of the Ruach HaQodesh.
In Yochanan 7:37-38 Yehoshua is speaking of the coming of the Ruach HaQodesh.
In Yochanan 7:37-38 Yehoshua is speaking of the coming of the Ruach HaQodesh.
At this time of Succoth,
YeshaYahu 12:3 and you shall draw water with joy from the
fountains of deliverance.” Was often quoted
The
water drawing ceremony took on a new dimension of meaning when Yehoshua
attended the feast of Succoth, on the seventh day of the feast during Hoshana
Rabba , the great salvation. During this day the priest circled the altar seven
times (Psalm 118:25) and the cry “save now” was repeated seven times.
Yehoshua
statement in Yochanan 7:37-39 was said on Hoshana Rabba.
In the scriptures there is a link between
water and the outpouring of the Ruach HaQodesh. Yehoshua told the woman at the
well to drink of living water (Yoch. 4:7-14, Matt 5:6. YeshaYahu 44:3 links the
pouring out of Elohim’ Ruach/Spirit. Also in Ya’El (Joel) 2:23,28, Acts 2:1-4,
14-17 and Yechezk’El 39:22,27-29. Water and the Spirit (Ruach ) are connected
in Psalm (Tehillim) 42:1-4, Zechar. 13:1, Rev. 7:17.
Rain
was a prominent feature part of the feast of Succoth, as rain is part of the
full and rich harvest. The rain represents the outpouring of the Ruach
HaQodesh, according to the prophet Ya’El when Elohim would rain His
Spirit/Ruach upon all flesh.
●
Festivals of Light. (Light of the Temple ).
The illumination of the Temple
(Beit HaMikdash) at the end of the first day according to tradition, the priest
and the levites went down to the court of the women. Four enormous golden
candlesticks were set up. Each candlestick 50 cubits eight (around 22meters)
with four golden bowls placed upon them and four ladders resting against each.
Four
youth of priestly descend stood at the top of the ladders holding jar
containing.5 gallons of pure olive oil.
The
light emanating from the four candlesticks was so bright that it is written in
the mishna that there was no courtyard in Yerushalayim that was not lit up with
light.
Halacha:
The light represent the shekina glory (Elohim’s presence) that once filled the Temple (1st
King 8:10-11) Ezekiel 43:5. During this time the temple was thought of as “the
light of the world” see Yochanan 8:12.
-
Israel : A light (witness) to the nations.
Israel was chosen to be Elohim’s light to the world: D’varim 7:6-8 compare Yoch: 8:12, 1:4,5,9, 3:19, 9:5, 12: 35-36,
Prov. 6:23, B’reshit 1:3-4,14,15, Matt:5:14.
-
Elohim wanted a people out of the world whom he
could use and work through, to show His glory to the world.
-
Isarel was to be a witness to the world:
YeshaYahu 43:1,10,12,14, Luke 24:44-49, Acts 1:1-8.
-
Israel as a corporate nation failed in her
mission. Not only were the people disobedient, to the commandment of Elohim,
but they also did not become light to the world. On the contrary, the world as
a corporate people hated the “jewish” people.
Isarel
remains Elohim’s chosen people (Rom. 11:25-29) and still has a role to play in
the world to come (Rom. 11:12,15). The message of Messiah for the nations is
spoken by the prophet
YeshYahu
62:1-5 For Tsiyon’s sake I am not
silent, and for Yerushalayim’s sake I do not rest, until her righteousness goes
forth as brightness, and her deliverance as a lamp that burns.
Isa 62:2 and the nations (Goy, gentiles) shall see your
righteousness and all sovereigns your esteem. And you shall be called by a new
name, which the mouth of יהוה designates.
Isa 62:3 and you shall be a crown of comeliness in the hand of יהוה, and a
royal head-dress in the hand of your Elohim.
Isa 62:4 No longer are you called “Forsaken,” and no longer is your land called
“Deserted.” But you shall be called “Ḥephtsiḇah,” and your land “Married,”
for יהוה shall delight in you, and your land been married.
Isa 62:5 for as a young man marries a maiden, so shall your sons marry you. And as
the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your Elohim rejoice over you.
Yerushalayim will be the
spiritual focal point of the world and this time been Israel ’s
“golden age” during the messianic age, because the prince of Yerushalayim Yehoshua,
the prince of peace, will reign from Yerushalayim. (YeshaYahu 2:24, 52:9-10, 62:7-8,
Micah 4:1-3, Psalm 102:18-21, 125:1-2.
The day is coming when a
restored and renewed Israel
will once again be light to the nations.
The prophet Hoshea tell us
that the coming of Messiah will be as the former and later rain (Hoshea 6:3) Yehoshua
was born during the fall feast, and died at his first coming during the first
month on the sacred calendar.
Rain speaks also of revival,
restoration and returning to Elohim (T’shuvah in Hebrew).
Elohim has already declared
that He would pour out His Ruach during the seventh month which is a spiritual
picture of the end of age (Olam Azeh). So far have we seen only shower of
blessing (Yechezk’el 34:26);
Believers shall call upon Yahuwah and ask of him to send the rain on the
people of the earth (Zechar. 10:1, Ask יהוה for rain in the time of the latter rain, יהוה who makes
storm clouds. And He gives them showers of rain, the plants in the field to
everyone.
Psalm 46:4 A river
whose streams Make glad the city of Elohim, The set-apart dwelling of the Most
High.
Psa
65:9 You have visited the earth
and watered it, You greatly enrich it; The river of Elohim is filled with
water; You provide their grain, For so You have prepared it.
Psa
65:10 Its ridges have been filled,
Its furrows have been deepened, You make it soft with showers, you bless its
growth.
Jer
5:23 ‘But this people has a
backsliding and rebellious heart, they have turned aside and gone away.
Jer 5:24 ‘And they do not say in their heart, “Let us now fear
יהוה our Elohim,
who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He guards for us
the appointed weeks of the harvest.”
Jer
31:10 “Hear the word of יהוה, O gentiles (Goy, nations), and declare it in the
isles afar off, and say, ‘He who scattered Yisra’ĕl gathers him, and shall
guard him as a shepherd his flock.’
Jer 31:11 “For יהוה shall ransom Yaʽaqoḇ, and redeem him from the hand of one
stronger than he.
Jer 31:12 “And they shall come in and shall sing on the height of Tsiyon, and stream
to the goodness of יהוה, for grain and for new wine and for oil, and for the young of
the flock and the herd. And their being shall be like a well-watered garden,
and never languish again.
Jer 31:13 “Then shall a maiden rejoice in a dance, and young men and old, together.
And I shall turn their mourning to joy, and shall comfort them, and shall make
them rejoice from their sorrow,
Jer 31:14 and shall fill the being of the priests with fatness. And My people shall
be satisfied with My goodness,” declares יהוה.
The fullness of this feast
will be experienced at the coming of Messiah Yehoshua when he will reign during
the messianic age, called Athid Lavo in Hebrew eschatology.
May Yahuwah bless those who seek him diligently through Yehoshua
HaMoschiach; Amen!
Yehoshua and Shemini Atzeret and Simchat
Torah
Etanim/Tishrei
22, Shemini Atzeret, and Etanim/Tishrei 23, Simchat Torah, in
ancient times were considered one long day and celebrated on Tishrei 22. Simchat
Torah is a celebration of rejoicing in the Torah.
As it is written in John (Yochanan) 7:37, "In the last
day, that great day of the feast [of
Sukkot]...." This day would be known as Hoshana Rabbah,
or Tishrei 21. In
John (Yochanan) 8:1-2, it is written, "Yehoshua went unto the
mount of Olives. And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and
all the people came unto Him; and He sat down, and taught them." This is
the next day after Hoshana Rabbah, the day attached to Sukkot
called Shemini Atzeret. Once again, in ancient times that day was also
called Simchat Torah, the rejoicing in the Torah. So, in John (Yochanan)
8:5, we see Yehoshua, the author of the Torah, is questioned about the
Torah on the day referred to as "the rejoicing in the Torah"
The Spiritual
Understanding of Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah
In Deuteronomy (Devarim) 31:9-13, at the Feast of Sukkot
(Tabernacles), you are to read the Torah. The seventh year is called the year
of release (Sh’mitah) (Deuteronomy [Devarim] 31:10); all debts are to
be forgiven at this time (Exodus [Shemot] 21:2; Leviticus [Vayikra]
25:1-4; Deuteronomy [Devarim] 15:1-12; Jeremiah [Yermiyahu]
34:8-22). The seven years are a picture of the 7,000-year plan of Elohim (Psalm [Tehillim] 90:4; 2
Peter 3:8). The seventh year is the year of release and is a picture of the
seventh day or the Messianic age, the Millennium, or the Athid Lavo. Yehoshua
referred to this in both Isaiah (Yeshayahu) 61:1-3 and Luke 4:16-21.
The phrase, "liberty to the captives" in Isaiah (Yeshayahu)
61:1, speaks of the year of release. Yehoshua is saying, in essence,
"I am that release. Trust in Me and you will be free." In the days of Yehoshua, there was a seven-year cycle of reading the Torah. In years one through three, the people would read from the Torah, the prophets and the writings. In years three through six, they would start over. In year seven, they would read from them all. While reading, the priest would stand on a podium (bema) and give the understanding and teaching (Nehemiah 8:1-12). This was done during the Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles) (Nehemiah 8:2,13-14,18).
In the future, we will experience the real Simchat Torah during
the time Elohim judges the
believers in the Messiah according to the lives they lived on this earth. At
that time, when we hear the truth of the Bible and understand Elohim 's Word, we will cry when we see how we have
failed to keep and follow the Bible and Elohim 's truths. But Elohim will say, "Do not sorrow, for
the joy of Yehowah is your strength" (see Nehemiah [Nechemiah]
8:9-10). At this time, we will not be going through the rehearsal (miqra)
of the festival, but we will be experiencing the "season of our joy,"
the time of the Messianic kingdom on earth. The reading, teaching, and
understanding of the Torah will be at its height during the Messianic age, the
Millennium. In Isaiah (Yeshayahu) 2:1-5 and Micah (Michah)
4:1-5, Yehoshua, the Messiah, the author and teacher of the Torah,
will teach all the peoples of the earth the ways of the Torah.
Rain and Dew: ( Geshem and Tal: A
Prayer for Rain )
On the festival of Shemini Atzeret, the Musaf, the
additional service on this day, begins with a special prayer for rain (geshem).
The reason for these special prayers is understandable enough (if you have
lived in the Spiritual Application (Halacha). Because this chapter concludes the festivals, we will review the spiritual significance of the festivals to the individual believer in the Messiah and how they relate to his life. Therefore, at this time, we can conclude with the spiritual significance of the fall festivals, especially Sukkot, Shemini Atzeret, and Simchat Torah.
Elohim designed the agricultural and weather seasons in
Every time a person receives Yehoshua the Messiah as his own Savior, he spiritually experiences Passover (Pesach). He is to flee
At that time, Elohim will begin to take us on a spiritual journey through the wilderness of life. Spiritually, we will begin to experience the dry summer season of
It is when we spiritually experience the fall festivals -- especially
the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot), Shemini Atzeret and Simchat
Torah -- and enter into our spiritual promised land that Elohim will anoint our lives for Him in an
awesome way, as we live and serve Him, and we will then experience the greatest
joy in our entire lives. Joy unspeakable! But we will experience not only joy,
but also dancing, praise, victory, peace, and the power of Elohim in our lives. Spiritually, we will
be experiencing the fall harvest of Israel . The rain in the Bible
speaks of two things: the great outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Ruach
HaKodesh) and an in-depth understanding of Yehoshua and His Word,
the Bible, in our lives. Both the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Ruach
HaKodesh) and great knowledge of spiritual truths will be present in our
lives in order that we may accomplish the purpose Elohim has for every one of our lives.
Therefore, we have the anointing of Elohim upon our lives so we may help to do our part
to build up the Body of Messiah to full maturity and to establish the Kingdom
of Elohim on earth
until we come to that day when we will rule and reign with the Messiah, the
King of kings and Master of Masters on earth during the Messianic age, the
Millennium, and for all eternity.
Messianic
Fulfillment and Understanding
When Elohim created
man and put him in the Garden of Eden (Gan Eden), the Garden of Eden
was like paradise, Heaven, or the world to come, known in Hebrew as the olam
haba. However, man sinned and as a result, both man and the earth was
diminished in comparison to the original glory and beauty in which it was
created. As a result, Elohim laid out a 7,000-year plan to restore both man and the earth back to
the glory and majesty of the Garden of Eden (Gan Eden). The Messiah
was to play a central role in this redemption. In Hosea 6:3 and Joel 2:23, the Scriptures tell us that the coming of the Messiah Yehoshua will be like the rain. As previously discussed, in
This great outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) and the knowledge of the Messiah on earth, will reach their greatest height during the Messianic age, the Millennium, and continuing into eternity. This is what the fall rains in Israel are spiritually all about and are why Elohim instructed the people to pray for rain during the festival season of Sukkot including Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah. After all, Sukkot (Tabernacles) and Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah were given to us by Elohim to instruct us what life would be like during the Messianic age and all eternity when the knowledge of the Messiah and the Spirit of Elohim will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea, as prophesied in the Book of Zechariah. For Yehoshua the Messiah is both the Former and Latter Rain and the Teacher of Righteousness (Hosea [Hoshea] 6:3; Joel [Yoel] 2:23; Psalm [Tehillim] 72:6; 84:5-6; John [Yochanan] 3:2; Isaiah [Yeshayahu] 55:10-12). How glorious it will be to live with the Messiah during those days! This is the essence of the festivals of Yehowah!
